Bourbon is a magical liquid. It's a true cure for the common cold, it cures tooth aches, and it helps prevent terminal aliments such as heart disease and stroke. It marinades ribs and steaks and can create various desserts. It also tastes good straight and can be enjoyed mixed in several ways.

I recently came across this bourbon in the past couple months. It's very woody and dry. Its a little harsher to drink straight than other bourbons, but its distinct taste puts it at 5, knocking off Jim Beam Dark which would have originally been in this spot. It goes well with Cola or Sprite.

Maker's Mark is where I started with bourbon. Its sweet and smokey. When not drinking, it makes an excellent sweet meat marinade. If you're looking to try something new from your usual Jack or Crown, Maker's is definitely a great choice. It goes great with Cola, Dr. Pepper, and just straight up.

Gentleman Jack is an upgrade over your standard Jack Daniels. Its smoother and noticeably richer. It will empty your wallet a little more, but for a classy occasion its the right choice. It goes wonderfully with Sprite, Cola, and Dr. Pepper... and of course straight

Southern Comfort is unlike any bourbon out there. That's probably why you won't find it near the other bourbons at your liquor store. At least most places I've been to, it has its own little section. What is different about SoCo is its very evident caramel taste. Probably the most easy bourbon to drink straight, it goes very well with just about anything. Sprite, Cola, Dr. Pepper, and Ginger Ale are my recommendations. It comes in 80 proof and 100 proof variations. There is little to no price difference in the two, so you might as well go with the 100.

The king of all bourbon. I rave about this whiskey more than any other alcohol out there. This is the best stuff out of anything in my opinion. Made by the Jim Beam distiller, Booker's is their private stash made public. The barrels that are stored in the middle of the warehouse for equal humidity on all sides as it ages. It is the only UNFILTERED bourbon on the market. That's right, it goes straight from the barrel into the bottle, how nature intended it to be. It ranges from 120-128 proof. Its very strong and potent, and yet very smooth at the same time. It really does have the best taste, but it will run you around $80. Definitely a special occasion product. If you can't bare it straight. Sprite, Cola, and Ginger Ale is the way to go with this one.

I've always wanted to try that Bookers, but damn its too costly. :P

Is Crown Royal comparable to Gentleman Jack? To me, Crown is easier to drink straight than Maker's Mark, but it doesn't seem to mix as well as regular Jack or Maker's Mark does. So I was wondering if Gentleman Jack would be the better mixer.

Maker's Mark in gingerale is good, sprite is better, but I've noticed I'm preferring Jack Daniel's and coke more than any other bourbon mix lately.

If I got that bookers, I'd probably feel like I was disgracing it by mixing it with anything. But then again, it would probably kill me if I drank it straight. X'D

LOL, its like someone kicked you in the sinuses straight. Its best with Ginger Ale. You just have to be careful because it will knock you on your ass so fast. X'D Booker's is the best ever!

GJ is good straight and mixed. but Soco is the best straight in my opinion. Crown has always been overrated to me... I dunnno :\

I bought a bottle of crown almost a year ago because a friend of mine highly recommended it to me... I still have half the bottle and I've been thru two small bottles of JD and most of a huge bottle of maker's mark since then. Crown just doesn't do it for me. I'll have to try that Soco next time. I'm going to give maker's mark a break for a while and stick with JD, but I'll pick up a bottle of the Soco to try it out.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
