DeathscytheX 9,732 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 Certainly we all had childhood heroes, or people we looked up to as a youngster... Real or ficition who were you awe struck by in your youth? As if it was no big surprise Macho Man Randy Savage was one of my heroes as a kid. I went against the grain with Hulkamania. Savage became my favorite wrestler out of my sheer hate for the Nature Boy Ric Flair... I hated how he always won when I was a kid, and when Savage kicked his ass for the World Heavyweight Championship, he became my favorite, and his crazy persona solidified that throughout his career. Plus Miss Elizabeth was one of my very first childhood crushes! As I was growing up my parents introduced me to Superman at a young age, I had many VHS tapes of the old cartoon. I was always enamored with the Man of Steel. I had pajamas, a punching bag, and other various memorabilia. A lot of people dislike Superman, but he always has a fan in me. lol 1 Sledgstone reacted to this Quote GET A NEW FUNK ON BEFORE YOU GET DUMPED ON!
Ladywriter 7,783 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 The scoundrel pilot gunslinger http://youtu.be/xxODU7RK730 I must have watched this movie 700 times as a kid. The idea of reading a book makes you part of the story appealed to my bookish nature http://youtu.be/B3DcWtkKeIY Nancy knew how to survive a horror film http://youtu.be/M8TKelktHgA 2 Sledgstone and DeathscytheX reacted to this Quote Look at the flowers
Gundam-Ranger-X 1,988 Report post Posted January 13, 2013 I don't think I had any "heroes" growing up as a kid. Can I say Batman? Yeah I know, I'm lame. Deal with it. Quote Life tastes like kittens. I like kittens!

Sledgstone 8,672 Report post Posted January 13, 2013 Most of my heroes when I was growing up were from video games. Cloud was the man. He was the hero that wanted to save the world, weird seeing as he started off his journey as a fake and a terrorist. Locke and Sabin were some great guys. Everyone in FFVI had their own lives but through so many turns of events these ppl all joined up to save the world. Mario in his quest to save the princess. Classic. Although more cartoony, Mario was the hero that spanned multiple games and consoles. He was dedicated to killing goombas and saving the girl. And he reminded me that he was always ready for the fight and the adventure the only thing holding him back was my own skill and determination. Chrono's epic adventure through time and space and all the friends he makes along the way always made me feel better about myself. Heres this guy that never talks to anyone and he still gets a bunch of close friends that would all die for each other.

Myk JL 1,731 Report post Posted January 14, 2013 All of my heroes from wrestling were actually heels, ended up being washed up, or are now dead. Jake The Snake Roberts & Kevin Nash come to mind. Mainly because Jake Roberts was my first Hero & Kevin Nash was my last. I started a PS Home Biker Gang & Clubhouse last month named "The Adams Family" in memory of the late Brian Adams, The Wrestler. It also is a reference to The Addams Family the Comics / TV Shows / Movies. My Heroes in Animation Eek The Cat, Freakazoid, & Jay Sherman (The Critic) have been forgotten about. My Heroes in Anime tend to be Adults. Motoko (Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex), Roger Smith (Big O), Scharzwald (Big O), & Vash The Stampede (Trigun) all come to mind at the moment. My Heroes in Gaming all have had tragic ends. Duke Nukem's last game that took unfortunately Forever was pretty bad & not the way I wanted to remember him. Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes) won't be getting another game. Eddie Riggs (Brutal Legend) had a fun game that most people didn't like. My Heroes in Comics have been ruined & or recently retconned. Deadpool's last comic series was horrible due to Danial Way's writing & was retconned last year. Lobo was also retconned (again) though his 90's retcon was better & sorry to say he's still barely used. My Heroes in Movies when I still bought movies were Chev Chelios (Crank) & Mr. Smith (Shoot 'Em Up). My Heroes in "furry fandom" don't stick out well enough.... unless we were to talk about villains.... In that case Rain Silves comes to mind.... .... Sorry some of these weren't from my childhood.... 1 Sledgstone reacted to this Quote Those who fight deplorables should see to it that they themselves do not become deplorables.
