Trigger 250 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 The Playstation 4 will cost $399 while the Xbox One will cost $499, assuming you are one of the 700 Million iOS device users and not one of the 13 Million Apple TV owners, a new Apple TV will set you back $99. Apple’s system cost you 1/4th to 1/5th that of the competitors, keeping in mind there are roughly 170x the number of games at about 1/30ththe cost. http://kylerichter.com/exploring-apples-game-console-sdk/ Is he actually comparing the Apple TV to gaming consoles? Ok the Apple TV device is $100, but if you want to play anything on it, you have to get an apple device which will set the total cost above any of the consoles. Gotta love those Apple fan boys, it's not cool until Apple does it, spend $35 on Chrome cast. Apple has tried the whole gaming console before and it failed miserably. Bandai manufactured fewer than 100,000 Pippins, but reportedly sold 42,000 systems before discontinuing the line. Production of the system was so limited, there were more keyboard and modem accessories produced than actual systems. In May 2006, the Pippin placed 22nd in PC World Magazine's list of the "25 Worst Tech Products of All Time." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Bandai_Pippin 1 Sledgstone reacted to this
Myk JL 1,731 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 I wouldn't worry about a useless device like Apple TV being compared to Gaming Consoles that have similar useless functions. I'm pretty certain Apple TV loses anyway once its compared to Smart TVs. Quote Those who fight deplorables should see to it that they themselves do not become deplorables. Sledgstone 8,672 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 So the apple tv as a gaming device will be the equivalent of the ouya? But instead of android games, it will play apple store games instead? That sounds weak.
