Pchan 5,162 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Finished watching it late afternoon after having started watching it this morning. I fell asleep on the 2nd episode last night Nice series, with a heartfelt story-line and the regular good versus evil theme. Animation-wise it was consistent and there were a few surprises towards the end. Short important battles did the trick and I really liked the bond a few characters shared with each other. Not the highest of marks, but it's a good series! Quote I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do. Strider Hiryu 2,704 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Eh, it was a good series. I still don't know how to take the ending to this day (a friend of mine absolutely hates the ending) but all around it was a rather good watch.
Pchan 5,162 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 You mean ... the part where everyone is revived? Quote I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.
Dogmatix 735 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Had it been any other situation, I think I would've hated the ending too. But, I was watching it while they were subbing, and it was getting a little depressing... seeing people get knocked out week after week. It was actually a bit relieving to see everyone pop back up... pretty randomly. BTW, loved the bg music. I still listen to it regularly. Just because I'm busy mowing the lawn and hoping I'll find some spare change, doesn't mean I can't hear you." - Link
Strider Hiryu 2,704 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 Eh, I like depressing endings (hence why I love Gilgamesh so much). I just really don't know how to take Mai-Hime's ending. I mean killing them all off and then going "Ha, fooled you" wasn't exactly a cool thing to do. If you kill someone off they should just be left dead
Pchan 5,162 Report post Posted April 9, 2007 I wouldn't mind super depressing endings myself ... it's sorta exciting to find an anime that changes your mood every half hour and Mai Hime towards the end was cool on that front. I was all prepared to hear them say Mai was converted into a Star and what not and sob about it when she killed Alyssa's child, buuuuuuuuut next episode she comes into class and I was like "DAMN, why?!!!"
