Saiel 2,306 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 I haven't been around much in awhile, but I've been quite busy, and will be even busier preparing to move to...San Francisco! And although I think, besides Carmie and co. there aren't many, I'm curious if anyone here is from the region and has suggestions on the best areas to live or how to find reasonably priced accommodations, etc. The Midwest is super reasonable (we live in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1200 sq. ft. apartment with all amenities for $900 a month) so browsing apartment listings and such for Cali is a bit overwhelming (a 600 sq. ft. apartment for $2,000 a month? What??). Anyway, any help is appreciated. Or just share your West Coast experiences, whatever your fancy.
Pchan 5,162 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Well, I'm sure it'll also depend on the kinda area you're thinking or renting out, like in NYC Manhattan rent is much higher for the same thing offered in Queens or Brooklyn. I found my apartment through Craigs, so check em out maybe? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/apa/ http://www.rentwave.com/features/ http://www.rent.com/?pse=1 http://www.apartments.com/California/SanFrancisco&BayArea/SanFrancisco http://www.apartmenthunterz.com/ http://www.apartmentcities.com/california/San_Francisco_CA.asp http://www.forrent.com/ http://www.4rentinla.com/ 900 bucks for all of that is so cool! Eppy 3,446 Report post Posted May 7, 2008 Cali and NJ have the highest costs of living in the country...good luck finding something like what you had for under 1700 Quote "That fairy needs to stop shouting in my ear, or I'm going to throw her friend I have trapped in the bottle into a lava pit or something. HEY, LISTEN! No, YOU listen. If something's important, just say so without yelling at me. Or fly over to it and change color like you usually do. Just because I'm busy mowing the lawn and hoping I'll find some spare change, doesn't mean I can't hear you." - Link
