Ladywriter 7,783 Report post Posted October 18, 2008 Tell Governor Sarah Palin: Alaska's Wolves Demand Justice! http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AA8vr/WUpd/ANR12 Earlier this summer, reports emerged from Alaska that wildlife personnel staked out a known wolf denning site -- a practice that is illegal under Alaska law -- and, using helicopters, gunned down 14 adult wolves from the air. When they landed, they found 14 infant wolves in the nearby dens -- and shot each one in the head. No other options were considered for the pups, such as contacting local zoos for placement of the orphans. 28 wolves gunned down in all as part of Alaska's predator control. Learn more: http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AA8vr/WUpd/ANR12 But the question remains: did wildlife personnel break the law? "Denning" -- the killing of wolf young in the den -- is prohibited under Alaska law. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin presents herself as a pro-ethics reform politician. Demand that Governor Palin stand up against any illegal efforts to kill wolves in Alaska: http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AA8vr/WUpd/ANR12 During her two years as governor, Sarah Palin proposed a $150 bounty for the severed foreleg of each killed wolf and introduced legislation to make it even easier to use aircraft to hunt wolves and bears. But if she truly believes in wiping cronyism out of government and elevating the rule of law, then she must apply those principles in all circumstances of the law. It's time that Governor Palin call for a thorough investigation into the killing of these 14 wolf pups, and bring any Alaska employees who acted illegally to justice. Please sign our petition to Governor Palin, and urge her to get the facts in the open. http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AA8vr/WUpd/ANR12 Thanks for taking action! Myk JL 1,731 Report post Posted October 18, 2008 ... This issue confuses the hell out of me... And I'm not pro Palin or any of that nonsense... But if I were her I would caught all of them & told the zoos they better take them & not release them back into the wild... Then again to some I'm a bit of a hypocrite & chances are anything big enough to bitch slap me like a crack whore & put me on it's menu is definitely getting shot in the face... Those who fight deplorables should see to it that they themselves do not become deplorables.
Zepling 100 Report post Posted October 18, 2008 I am admittedly an animal rights nut and I have to say that hunting an animal from a helicopter is just incredibly fucked up. On top of that, Palin couldn't save these poor creatures and put them in a zoo. I think I'm seeing red. Mayor Quimby I'll admit I used the city treasury to fund the murder of my enemies, but as Gabbo would say, I'm a bad wittle boy.
