Dubird 6,815 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 Went and saw this tonight and was pleasently surprised. Some rather dark humor, but it was really an amusing movie, kinda a spoof of the old noir-style movies of the 1940s. Samuel L Jackson was awesome and hilarious as the Octipus, that alone makes the movie worth going to see. It's not 'technacally' a comedy, but you can tell they were having fun with it wherever they could. Anyhoo, anyone else have any thoughts? Quote Yesterday was the deadline for all complaints! DeathscytheX 9,732 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 I was hearing that it wasn't being received well by many, and that it was a big pile of crap. I found that a bit hard to believe coming from Frank Miller. Glad to see someone liked it. I haven't seen it myself. It doesn't really appeal enough to me to go pay $15-20 to see it on the big screen. I'll definitely rent it though. Quote GET A NEW FUNK ON BEFORE YOU GET DUMPED ON! Kite 3,263 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 ive not seen it, but people are probably seeing it as a Sin City 2. which it is not, so the expectations were way to high for this film for most, also ill wait for dvd also Quote Bruce Campbell: '' This place has more security then the Batcave ''
Dubird 6,815 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 No, it's worth going to see at the theater, really. It was seriously worth the money for me. See, that's why I go to movies not expecting a lot because then I have a good time. Just go expecting to be entertained and laugh a bit and you'll have a great time! Sledgstone 8,672 Report post Posted January 8, 2009 When I first saw the commercials for it I thought it was a sequel for Sin City. Samuel L. Jackson and Frank Miller... those two are the only thing that holds my interest in this movie. I think I'll watch it someday, not sure when tho.
