Storage ponds 'potential hazards' to nearby communities, says EPA

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration has decided to keep secret the locations of nearly four dozen coal ash storage sites that pose a threat to people living nearby.The Environmental Protection Agency classified the 44 sites as potential hazards to communities while investigating storage of coal ash waste after a spill at a Tennessee power plant in December. The classification means the waste sites could cause death and significant property damage if an event such as a storm, a terrorist attack or a structural failure caused them to spill into surrounding communities.

The sites have existed for years with little or no federal regulation.

Once they finally make a space elevator, transporting coal ash and excessive co2 into space for disposal would become economical.

well..........

1st the elevator has to be built in a stable climate zone...... do any even exist on earth anymore? Given the current situation before the first brick can be laid its already too late.

2nd transporting the toxins is dangerous. If something went wrong and the shit rained down the contamination would be widespread.

3rd eventually those elements will fall back to earth only now they will be irradiated by the sun.

if we wanna send the bad junk into space we need to send it into the sun not orbit >.<
