Iranian protesters planned to flood the streets of Tehran in the tens of thousands Thursday after opposition presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi defied a government crackdown and called for another day of demonstrations against what he has denounced as a rigged election.

Well sure, they aint gonna blame their own govt.

New protest planned outside Iran parliament

Country's supreme leader says he will not give into pressure over election

Now that riot police and religious militia have regained control of the streets, Iran's hardline leadership seems to be taking a harsher line with its foreign and domestic critics.

I really hate people that think they're some kind of soldier of god. Delusional behavior and ideas is a serious psychiatric disorder.

The following can indicate a delusion:

1. The patient expresses an idea or belief with unusual persistence or force.

2. That idea appears to exert an undue influence on his or her life, and the way of life is often altered to an inexplicable extent.

3. Despite his/her profound conviction, there is often a quality of secretiveness or suspicion when the patient is questioned about it.

4. The individual tends to be humorless and oversensitive, especially about the belief.

5. There is a quality of centrality: no matter how unlikely it is that these strange things are happening to him, the patient accepts them relatively unquestioningly.

6. An attempt to contradict the belief is likely to arouse an inappropriately strong emotional reaction, often with irritability and hostility.

7. The belief is, at the least, unlikely.

8. The patient is emotionally over-invested in the idea and it overwhelms other elements of his psyche.

9. The delusion, if acted out, often leads to behaviors which are abnormal and/or out of character, although perhaps understandable in the light of the delusional beliefs.

10. Individuals who know the patient will observe that his belief and behavior are uncharacteristic and alien.

As you can see religious nuts are really nuts. :bingo:

"For sure, neither the system nor the people will give in to pressures at any price," Khamenei said. He used language that indicated he was referring to domestic pressures.

He told opposition supporters to halt their protests and blamed the U.S., Britain and other foreign powers for instigating unrest.

Iran also said that it was considering downgrading ties with Britain, which it has accused of spying and fomenting days of street protests over the vote.

The government accused Britain of using spies to foment the unprecedented street protests and Iran expelled two British diplomats Tuesday. Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced that two Iranian diplomats were being sent home in retaliation.

:nah:

tbh i dont think British people / media gvnt gave a rats ass about Iran.

It was just world news being reported as it happened.

it was never stated the election was rigged, just that people protested about the results.

Iran wants a scape goat to turn attention away from internal problems

Nothing unites people like rallying them against a foreign nation under the guise of religion or crap like that
