The 32bit OS is the problem. You may also have to upgrade your BIOS. Quote All hail piggy, king of bacon ^)^

gokuDX7 2,871 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 how do i get xp 64bit? You buy it the same way you would buy windows XP 32bit. Check newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001149%2040000368&Manufactory=1149&SubCategory=368&SpeTabStoreType=0 If your gonna build your new PC after October, then I'd just wait and buy windows 7 when it comes out (October or November is the projected release date). Better yet just download the free release version they have on the web site (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx) and use that until the official comes out or until the RC expires in 2010. I believe the upgrade is gonna be like $80 or something. Quote All hail piggy, king of bacon ^)^
Kite 3,263 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 i think ill wait then until October and build a new PC It is annoying i git this computer in 2005 just before Duel core was introduced, It is a pentium D, and has 2 processors yet isn't considered duel core Quote Bruce Campbell: '' This place has more security then the Batcave ''

I'm guessing windows wasn't installed correctly so it's not fully recognizing the second core or your motherboard doesn't support the processor's dual cores.
