gokuDX7 2,871 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 I'm thinking about building a new rig after Christmas for work and for gaming. I'm no longer a "power gamer" but I do want something that's gonna last me. I was thinking maybe an nVidia 9800 since they're semi-cheap right now and bound to get cheaper after Christmas. If the 9800 is a good choice which version should I go with? The GT 1GB or the GTX+ 512mb version? I'm open for opinions on other cards as long as they're not too expensive. Sledgstone 8,672 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 I've always gone with nVidia cards over the years, but are they still the top of the line?
Khellendross 1,260 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 the ATI 58xx class are actually phenomenal cards (if you care to shell out 500+ for a card) Nvidia currently has nothing on em, and wont until the GTX 3xx's come out.
gokuDX7 2,871 Report post Posted December 12, 2009 Ya except I don't want to spend over $160 for a card right now. The new nVidia line up just seems like a slight improvement too. I was looking into radeon cards but they're so damn expensive. It's surprising since AMD is normally the cheapest .
