    Big City Stories

Its a Free To Play game that is still in Beta. Its based off of Home Tycoon which you could only play on PS Home. I got my Beta Key on Friday, but didn't start playing until after 12 AM ET. Its still kind of buggy but I'm enjoying it about as much as I did Home Tycoon. It differs greatly from Home Tycoon however by how building effect an area instead of a whole city. Electricity as far as I can tell acts the same way as money. You collect it in a certain area & later spend it. Workers are still the most boring part that they brought back from Home Tycoon to BCS. Whether its better or worse Workers regenerate at certain buildings. So its best not to destroy the worker building you're given unless you intend on spending real money. Graphically it looks better than Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (as in without mods). But then again SR2 & PSH look better than ES IV. Comparing BCS to just HT I'd say overall that BCS looks better. Well except for BCS avatar creation which looks kind of goofy. There are features coming to BCS according to options that aren't available yet. But I won't be typing about those until they're actually available. I might not spend any real money on BCS until its available to everyone as I rather not risk wasting my money.

    Big City Stories

Everything that was in that video was also in the beta version I got. Hopefully more people will play Big City Stories since it isn't tied to PS Home like Home Tycoon was. Purely my experience with Big City Stories so far. Plenty of NPCs & my avatar's head tend to clip through car roofs. My avatar's head clipping issue was fixed when I made it shorter in height. Its easier to run over zombies than shoot them. There's suppose to be ammo I can find, but I never found it. A Gas Station is a must for refueling cars during this activity. I should probably try this activity again with a topless car. I don't know if zombies can kill me but I doubt it. Also you can't run over people who aren't zombies. Some small objects I placed in the game clipped through the ground. I found this out sometime after trying to pull a Chris Christie at the bridge entrance. Big City Stories > Home Tycoon Naming The City & customizable signs. (Such as Here Lies Andy Peperoni & Cheese) Buildings can be upgraded. Driving isn't behind a paywall like it originally was in Home Tycoon. You can "borrow" any car you see driving around. And even make a little money as an Uber Driver. Though being an Uber Driver isn't as fun I'd hope. I was hoping for something more like Crazy Taxi. Collecting Cash (or Electricity) in the overhead map doesn't require workers. But it now feels a bit more or less tedious. Hospitals & Zoos (& maybe Nuclear Power Plants) are free. One of the new cars driving around, the Crusader, has easily became my favorite. (Its the one that looks like a Modern Day Muscle Car) Home Tycoon didn't have a Zombie Activity. The Water Tower isn't red so I can stop imagining Rico Rodriguez destroying it. Big City Stories < Home Tycoon Big City Stories lacks the floating suitcases that randomly gave cash or workers. I don't think they're coming back. Big City Stories lacks Helicopters. I don't know if they're coming back or being replaced. Big City Stories (Currently) lacks Activities & by extension actual story missions for the Fire Department & Hospital. I miss that loud mouth Fire Fighter already. Currently there are no Sports Stadiums. Home Tycoon had Football, Football (Soccer), & Olympic Stadiums. The Former 2 you had to actually buy. If they come back I expect them to be expansions. There are no "illegal" street races (they were part of a Home Tycoon expansion). But maybe they'll comeback. Part of me thinks the Garage Mechanic might replace the Vin Diesel parody character. I miss the bickering that use to happen between the pro-environment business & anti-environment business. That's probably gone because it was easier to side with the one that was better for the environment. Housing in Big City Stories doesn't generate money like it did in Home Tycoon. Big City Stories doesn't have a building that ties into Novus Prime. Big City Stories replaced Home Tycoon's Giant Black Panther with an Elephant when it comes to the Zoo. Beyond that I had 2 pics from Home Tycoon. One was with The Zoo's Big Black Panther. The other one was The "Nude" Beach. In that last pic you can barely see The Novus Prime Building near The Town Hall with Donut Shop behind it. You can find those pics in the 2nd link to this link once you scroll down to "Re: Epic Avatar Pix: 10 Pic Trophy" as I've posted about these pics before. http://www.ancientclan.com/forums/topic/13175-the-end-of-playstation-home/#comment-130983

    Pokemon Go

Part of me probably shouldn't have an opinion on Steam Greenlight as all my examples of why Steam Greenlight is bad come from Jim Sterling. - Back to Pokémon Go I would probably get this in hopes I could find Meowth/Persian & Purrloin/Liepard if I wasn't waiting for Augmented Reality Glasses. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=378

    Pokemon Go

I seriously doubt this. There's always going to be a physical copy of the game because publishers need to get their money's worth out of games and I know I'm not the only person out there that refuses to pay $60+ for a digital copy of a game when it comes out. Also they have to reach the broadest audience and as you said there are those who have shit internet service or none at all, you can't possibly make money when you're ignoring up to 40% of your consumer base. Not to mention not everyone can afford the price of high speed internet or would even be willing to pay the price for said internet. With how graphically and bandwidth intensive games have been becoming to pass that amount of data through on say my connection speed would result in a piss poor gaming experience, something I don't want (which is the reason I need to upgrade to 120, I've been having some series troubles playing FFXIV lately due to internet fuck ups). Plus the way you're saying this will go what would be the point of even owning a PS or Xbox stick when you could just get the game through steam on you're PC. You're effectively killing the game market as there would be no use to having two console developers anymore. Exclusives would be gone because what developer would side with a stick manufacturer when they could reach more consumers by just releasing on Steam or another Steam like application. It'd be more cost effective to this and you only have to code for 3 different OS's (if you choose to) and one server setup. Plus I've never heard how Playstation Now is doing, I know some people don't like it but I've never really heard overall numbers of users or games being played (sadly I won't pay a fee to stream a game on top of my PS+ membership, that's a little to much money for my tastes). I know I'll stop gaming if they go streaming only, it might be my age showing but I still like having physical copies of my games (the only digital downloads I own on my PS4 are the free titles we get every month, Sword Art Online (I forget the rest of the name), and the Definitive Edition of Dishonored. I refuse to buy digital downloads due to limited hard drive space since digital games take up more room then disc copies) and that will never change. The only exception I make for this is PC games, it's just easier to get the digital version through Steam and a lot of PC games are switching to digital only (plus I have hard drive space for days between all my external hard drives). The problem is Sega was in the same boat when they left the market only for Microsoft to swoop in and take their spot effectively forcing Nintendo into Sega's old niche market. Sadly we won't have that option if Nintendo goes the way of the dinosaur (and no Steam machines won't take that niche. They're jokes that run on Linux and only have 250 so games from the Steam library that actually can run on Linux). Sony and Microsoft have to much say and power in the industry (which I think is one of the reasons Nintendo can't get out of its funk (besides their bad choices in developing new consoles)) currently and we've seen what choices they've made over the last decade swaying how game development and console development go (before Microsoft hit the market their was no real call for online multiplayer games on Nintendo, Playstation, and Sega consoles (though Sega did start it with some of their games (Phantasy Star Online is an example here) which is why we had those massive single player only campaigns. People had PC if they wanted to play online games. It was Microsoft that started pushing for digital only as well, we saw how well that worked out for them). I still feel, much like our political system, more then two choices is a must which is why I worry for the future of gaming if Nintendo bails on the console market (I have no hopes for our political system but thats for another topic). Other mobile developers have already been pushing this forever. Look how much money games like Candy Crush and Clash of Clans have made since they're release (the numbers are astronomical). Developers already know the amount of money they can make, Nintendo just proved that a major developer can make a shit ton of cash on already established properties. Hell Square Enix is releasing a Final Fantasy game for mobile now as well (Mobius, it looks freaking amazing and I plan on picking it up). DRM isn't really that strong on mobile devices. With a rooted phone or tablet you can get access to various games no problem, bypassing the android/apple markets by just getting you're hand on a copy of the .apk file through a site (and you can even get cheated versions as well) and it'll still have access to the games live servers. Hell I think you can even get iOS games on android (and vice versa) through this method (I don't know, I don't really pay attention to the root community. As much as I'd like to root my phone it's just not worth the hassle). I digress now, we've really pushed this off topic. I tried Go for all of 5 minutes in my room. After realizing there's only two Pokestops in my town I quickly uninstalled it (plus, out here in the boonies, people still view gaming as completely childish and even more so if they hear you're playing Pokemon. The social stigma is overbearing). Plus, while the concept is cool, I just don't like the idea of it. What this game is doing as somewhat of a social experiment, however, is nuts. It's really bringing the gaming community together but it's also bringing the seedier elements of society together as well (the amount of deaths, robberies, and other games contributed to this game are sad).

    Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

I liked all the COD campaigns except for the last mission of black ops 3. the MW1-3 were my favorite (I guess im just a sucker for a conclusion of the Price/Soap story) But they're all a good 7-8 hours and done. I disagree they have nothing to lose by not selling it stand alone... they'd actually make a lot more money if they did so, they just don't want it to outsell their shitty new game, and they want to claim success for IW by tying in the last 10 maps with the DLC of the new game... so I guess in a way you're right, because if MW1 did as well or better than IW, it would show failure development-wise. I was excited for MW1, and as much as it saddens me, I'll put my foot down and not buy this one, even if all my friends get it. Black Ops 3 was the final straw for me... while it was fun with friends for a bit, the first wave of P2W weapons trashed the game before the first map pack even came out. The level of frustration getting gunned down by the same weapon with MW2 TTK while you have shitty Black Ops TTK had me stop playing immediately and I've never picked up the game since. In essence, Infinite Warfare could be absolutely amazing, and be better than MW1... but it wouldn't matter, because they'll fuck it up with COD points and supply drops within the first 4 months the game is out. They've just marked down Blops 3 on PS4 significantly. Even if they don't sell it separately, they'll probably do the same next year for IW. I'll have no problem paying for Premium.... I normally wait for the premium bundle, but I didn't want to miss out on early enlister in case that was a one time opportunity. I'll throw down another $60 on BF1 no problem. DICE has proven to me the quality of their post launch content, dating back to BF2 when DLC was called expansion packs and came on discs XD. Plus they gave us what we want by going back in time. I just hope they never tie in an unlock for finishing top 3 on Gun Master ever again... that BF3 assignment still gives me nightmares... and I'm sure I lost a few years off my life span when I completed it my heart was racing so fast.
