Was just thinking about how backwards some things really are in life like if your sick you have to walk to the back of the supermarket to buy medicine, yet if you wish to buy cigarettes to poison yourself and everyone around you it is right at the front door How banks charge the poor for not having money and reward the rich by giving them more money How if you want to get a home phone line installed, you have to phone up to arrange it how you need to show id to get a replacement to your ID you lost that you are better off being unemployed then on a low wage anyone got anything to add -

How Gullible Are We?
Sledgstone and 3 others reacted to Flying_Monkey for a post in a topic
H2O: Dangerous Chemical! A student at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair, April 26. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment. In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide." And for plenty of good reasons, since: it can cause excessive sweating and vomiting it is a major component in acid rain it can cause severe burns in its gaseous state accidental inhalation can kill you it contributes to erosion it decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes it has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical. The title of his prize winning project was, "How Gullible Are We?" Forty-three (43) said yes, six (6) were undecided, and only one (1) knew that the chemical was water. He feels the conclusion is obvious. This was found on the newsgroup: rec.humor.funny Why do people not know what water is? Better yet how do people not know what water is? (...I fear the answers to these questions...) -

Fox has no idea what Net Neutrality is
Sledgstone and 3 others reacted to gokuDX7 for a post in a topic
For the third time I've heard them try and push their viewers to fight against Net Neutrality without even explaining what it is to their uneducated viewers. They claim Net Neutrality is bad because it allows ISPs, company's, and the government control over your Internet. The reality of it is Fox has it backwards. Like the name implies Net Neutrality is the act of keeping the net free and unregulated like it has been since it was created. Every since Senator McCain proposed his backwards ass "Internet Freedom Act." bill to congress, Fox News and other media outlets have been pushing this uneducated babble that Net Neutrality and the FCC are bad LOL. Here's some videos for those that are still confused [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWt0XUocViE]YouTube - Save the Internet![/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9jHOn0EW8U]YouTube - Net Neutrality[/ame] The reason this is blowing up so big now is because ISP's have been throttling and prioritizing web traffic, specifically bittorrent, and getting attacked by the FCC because of it. ISPs are complaining that the FCC hasnt given a fine line on what they can and cant do so they go a head with such practices of prioritizing certain program protocols on the Internet (ex. VoIP phones). So the FCC has stepped up and will be making that fine line clear so ISPs wont have any more excuses on what they can and cant do. The FCC will not be taking away our freedom or give ISPs the power to prioritize programs. They're fighting for us yet the media has it all backwards. -

3 pointsWell, All, Sabe has returned! ...Again. I think my last set of posts took place back in 2013 or so, and there has been a LOT that has changed; it amazes me that it has, though, since I always thought of my life as so unchanging. Back in '13 I was working at the Arena doing Security work...it wasn't exactly what you'd call fulfilling, but it paid the bills and kept me busy. Well, it was just a year after that, when things changed, and they changed fast. To make a lot of superfluous details and exposition short, I fell in love. She was a part of the EVS (a glorified acronym for Janitorial Staff) Department and was just a face in the crowd; then we began to talk when we both had time. After that, it was pretty fast...we'd make excuses to run into each other during working hours; then there was the exchange of phone numbers; after that, it was a whirlwind courtship. We did a few things out of order, though. After things began to really heat up, we both left the Arena for differing reasons, on paper at least (more pay and less politics was the main idea for both of us, really), and started other employment for almost another year. I went to FedEx, she to an insurance company, where we could both earn what we were going to need for the coming future...she was pregnant! On August 10, 2015 our daughter was born; a bit preemie, and stubborn about eating, but whole and healthy otherwise. "Peanut" has been a challenge now and again (good Lord is there a lot of me in her!), but it has been worth it...I couldn't imagine life without her! We apartment bounced twice in the months and years following "Peanut"'s arrival, until we found one that would fit all of us when The Boss had all her kiddo's around. I can sense the confusion...didn't I mention? The Boss had prior kids before we got together...3 other girls, as a matter of fact! We get along like a house afire, though...love them just as much as I do "Peanut". Well, the second apartment worked for almost two years, during which time (June 24, 2017) the boss and I got married! Things improved again! Then, about 6 months after that, I got into a spat with the landlord, and we had to figure out a new living arrangement rather quickly...Me and my damn temper; even though I followed the laws for the City and State, it was deemed I didn't have enough evidence to charge my landlord with negligent maintenance. Thanks to my time in the service, though, I had access to my VA stuff, and less than three months later and 150 miles or so west, I became a homeowner! A small town of 2,000 or so, a good vibe and lots of space for things to keep improving! The house is a two story with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spare room that I turned into a mini man-cave and sits on 3 city lots: total space (Land and house) is .44 acres! The house will need some TLC over the years, but I can say we are more than happy. Soon, the wife wants to open an in-home Daycare, and I would like to start woodworking again, in addition to my off and on writing. I hope any Clan who takes the time to read this has had good luck, joy and many blessings in their own lives since my hiatus, and that they all keep coming for you! In the words of Tigger: TTFN! Ta, Ta For Now!

Mmm, sparkly! Unicorn meat is the other other white meat!
Khellendross and 2 others reacted to Kite for a post in a topic
Mmm! And only $9.95 a can! Here's the official description on ThinkGeek: Pâté is passé. Unicorn - the new white meat. Excellent source of sparkles! Unicorns, as we all know, frolic all over the world, pooping rainbows and marshmallows wherever they go. What you don't know is that when unicorns reach the end of their lifespan, they are drawn to County Meath, Ireland. The Sisters at Radiant Farms have dedicated their lives to nursing these elegant creatures through their final days. Taking a cue from the Kobe beef industry, they massage each unicorn's coat with Guinness daily and fatten them on a diet comprised entirely of candy corn. As the unicorn ages, its meat becomes fatty and marbled and the living bone in the horn loses density in a process much like osteoporosis. The horn's outer layer of keratin begins to develop a flavor very similar to candied almonds. Blending the crushed unicorn horn into the meat adds delightful, crispy flavor notes in each bite. We are confident you will find a world of bewilderment in every mouthful of scrumptious unicorn meat. http://scifiwire.com/2010/04/mmm-sparkly-unicorn-meat.php the guys who come up with this stuff are awesome -
3 pointsLooks very good and high production for a tv series Judge Dredd meets iRobot Karl Urban + JJ Abrams = awesome cant wait The show will be predictable, solve murders each week, while the robot teaches the human what it means to be alive and how the human grows to trust the robot but this is one ill be following Also i am glad when film stars do TV shows as the quality is usually higher (24) but the worry is they don't like to be tied up for too long due to a film deal that pays way more for a lot less time Click here to view the article

it was good to see Ragnar and Bjorn reunited. And what Lagertha had to do to convince her new husband to help clearly shows how much she still loves Ragnar. As for poor little princess Aslaug, who had to suffer the dirty conditions..geesh, I'm not liking her character anymore than how she started. She can learn a thing or two from Siggy and Lagertha...theres more to life than having babies...i hope they kill her off soon...frustrating to see her complaining...ok we get it, your father was Sigurd -

Series with great endings (spoilers)
Myk JL and 2 others reacted to Ladywriter for a post in a topic
Not everything ends well or even ends at all....but there's some good stuff out there in the sea of media that is worth watching. Megas XLR was only 26 episodes and the show was mostly giant robot smashing I loved the characters, I totally know dudes like Coop and Jamie I'd say Coop fighting his skinny evil alternate reality self with the glorft is some version of closure. Good enough http://youtu.be/jzxSk9Ic0dE Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica was 4 seasons Scifi stretched out from 04 to 09. I'm pretty sure it was this show that started the whole mid season break bullshittery The ending fit the series, the ending was fantastic. For me the Galactica was a character too, just like Going Merry was a OP character and her end was true to everything she was the last episode is boo hoo hardcore. http://youtu.be/92Pf2MH_yYQ -

Dream or Paranoia?
Pchan and 2 others reacted to CabbitGirl for a post in a topic
ok, so little back story before i post the whole story: i wrote this for my creative writing class and it drove me crazy trying to think about it and get it done in time to hand in. It will be handed out to the class next week (i think) and they will go home and read it and it'll be work shopped in the class the following week, or after that. So this is not a finished polished thing yet. I kind of feel as if it were a little thrown together. but anyway, enough back story, here it is... (put it in spoiler tags for less scrolling if you already read it haha) critique, comments, likes, dislikes, all are welcome hope it was enjoyable! -

OMFG awsome!!!!!! vs wolverine was less of a fight between them, but was more accurate to his origin AKA how he got the adamantium. wolverine tore though people how he was ment to, deadpool was really funny too ;p Vs Thor, i didnt think this would have been good, as i assumed good vs evil, thor being the good, and the usual outcome, but this wasnt predictable at all what i dont get is wolverine seemed to do better against hulk then a god ;p wolverine is tough, but he gets to much writer love. overall really good animation, voiceing, and story both are 35-40 mins, no filler moments, great pace and really enjoyable id say 10/10 for enjoyment -

http://dvice.com/archives/2008/08/styrofoam_dome.php Check out the pictures, they actually look decent on the inside. If you got four of them connected, you could live in a pretty good sized dome home. I wonder if you could flip one of the domes upside down, bury it to ground level and connect the top dome to it... Then you could live in a duplex sphere. I'd get one and layer dirt up the sides and on top, grow grass all over it and live like a hobbit. -
