My cold / sinus infection turned into a trip to the ER for me last night at 2am. Fucking asthma almost got me.
-
Damn I have a cold / sinus infection. I've been sick the last two days, but now I can go pick up my copy of Destiny soon once my medicine starts kicking in.

I loved this game when I was a teenager. Kings Quest, Hero's Quest, Space Quest, the old Leisure Suit Larry games.. Sierra made some great adventure games back in the day. This remake made by the original creator looks great. I don't think I'll be pre-ordering it myself tho. I still have the classic original somewhere that is unplayable on modern computers, but I'll definitely pick this up on a steam sale. I even have the novelization of this game in softback.

Necromancer in GW2 is so much fun. I can't wait to get more minion skills.
-
Thats awesome, I'll try that. WvW will scale me up, but what about my armor? Won't ppl still kill me in a matter of a few hits?
-
My level 80 can die in the matter of a few hits . Just stay ranged at all times, and get in the capture circles and you get 1/6th-1/5th of your xp bar filled every time.

SR Gat out of Hell is following the lead of "Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry", "Infamous First Light" and "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" and instead of being a more expensive DLC they made them all standalone games, probably to exclude them from game of the year and legendary / complete additions. I hope more games do not do this. If all campaign DLC turns into 'standalone games' then it'll be annoying as hell and be an even bigger money grab than normal DLC. I doubt anyone that doesn't own the actual initial games would ever buy the standalone games by themselves.. which would make them regular DLCs IMO. And the MGS Ground Zeroes is basically a standalone DLC that is being sold before the actual game even comes out just to create hype for the game. Thats just ridiculous.

My brother mentioned the same thing. He said PVP is basically full of the equivalent of 100 star battlefield veterans sitting on shit buckets. Its so one sided that you either have to stop playing PVE and dedicate all your time to become a PVP expert or you don't have a chance at all. He did seem to like the WvW tho.

Everything You Need to Know about the Destiny BETA!
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
The Dust palace strike mission looks fun. I'll probably farm it a few times to get some good loot once I hit the right level for it. I like that live action trailer. Too cool. oh.. and it looks like my one brother wont be interested in getting Destiny for ps3 on launch. Sounds like he'll be waiting until he gets his ps4 and/or the game goes on sale next year. That leaves nobody for me to play this game on PS3, which means I'll be keeping my limited edition ps4 version. Unfortunately I have to work on tuesday. Maybe I'll pick the game up on my lunch break. -
I played the hell out of Resident Evil 1 and 2, and 2 was definitely my favorite also. RE2 was a much better game IMO. This HD remake will be good but I don't think I'll buy it because I already know the entire game in and out. Maybe they'll release DLC for it to change outfits or something, either way I look forward to this being on PS+ at some point. I tried playing as Chris in RE1 and I quit playing as him rather quickly.. I think he had a stronger melee attack, but with Jill's 2 extra inventory spaces I always chose to play as Jill. I had to play the game on easy tho.. I never felt comfortable enough with the controls to play on normal considering how often you had to push a zombie and run on any other difficulty. I enjoyed having the excessive ammo in easy to blast every zombie in the game. I did have a friend that beat it on hard. He was the kind of person that memorized games so it could be accomplished. Watching him play it was ridiculous. He also played mega man to such extremes that he could beat those on any difficulty without dieing most of the time. A bit too OCD for me.

It doesn't say it is for PVP only so I'm assuming it includes pve. Are there many skill differences in pvp? I know gw1 eliminated some elites from pvp and changed some skills specifically for pvp, and when you switched to that mode you'd see the differences in your skill bar. But I haven't noticed any references yet to pvp or wvw skill changes in gw2. I should look it up. This patch is making changes to the guardians elite skills but it doesn't say what changes exactly.

Everything You Need to Know about the Destiny BETA!

Destiny digital purchase on PS3, 360 get free PS4, Xbox One upgrade http://www.joystiq.com/2014/09/05/destiny-digital-purchase-on-ps3-360-get-free-ps4-xbox-one-upgr/ Wow. It doesn't apply to physical copies, but this is a great selling point. I could order the digital guardian edition for ps3 and get it for both my PS3 and PS4 for the 1 price. I could play it on my PS4 and switch to my ps3 to play with my brother that doesn't have a ps4 yet.. or, lady could log in with her account and play it on the ps3 by herself while I play on the PS4 at the same time. And we could use our accounts on either system. Its a shame I can't play with others on the older consoles on my ps4. omg. Now I have a choice to make.. should I cancel my limited edition and go digital or not.. hmm.. -

I like dlc for single player if it adds to the campaign or if it's a side story that's longer than a couple missions. A couple of the SR3 dlc were enjoyable because of the clone missions. And the last of us dlc that was a prequel was great from what lady has told me. I need to play that dlc now that I'm thinking about it. I would have loved a campaign dlc for tomb raider but all it's dlc was multiplayer based. I didn't buy any of it.

Gamers should stand against hateful behaviour?
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
That video is basically every kid / teen boy on cod. Now that they've grown up swearing at everyone they think it's normal "gamer culture" but in reality its just cod culture and ppl being swearing assholes. Here's a great comic that explains teenage boy gamer culture: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/online_gaming Hmm, maybe xbox party chat is the main cause of all the hate speech. Combined with cod it helped form all the assholes into the pricks they are today. Esports may not be contributing to this but the popularity of it might have helped push a lot more ppl into the mmoba games and their communities of hateful assholes. It's like a recruitment effect that breeds more asses. -
Gamers should stand against hateful behaviour?
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Maybe esports is contributing to this issue? I haven't played DOTA 2 or League of Legends, but those two are the largest and most widely watched esports games. From what I've read, those two games have as many, if not more, vocal asshole gamers as the COD franchise. Now Forbes has an article about this.. another non gaming site, reporting on 'gamer culture' http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2014/09/04/gamergate-a-closer-look-at-the-controversy-sweeping-video-games/ And here is a run down about the current hashtags being used on twitter: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/gamergate Whenever I read any video game news site, I take it all with a grain of salt and expect some personal bias from the person who wrote the article. Its the same with all news media. Regardless, this all seems a bit blown out of the water to me. -
I never bought the season pass, but I would definitely like to play this DLC. I think I'll wait on reviews for it first tho. I don't want to drop cash on this if its only a single mission DLC. If its a mini campaign then I'll pick it up. This post has been promoted to an article

Gamers should stand against hateful behaviour?
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
This seems like a decent explanation of the issue now: http://techraptor.net/2014/09/03/response-open-letter-gaming-community/ It looks like non gaming sites are referencing this letter to the gaming community and have in turn, condemned all "gamers" as assholes? Twitter appears to have people bashing "gamers" because of "Gamer culture" which now seems to be directly related to everyone being an asshole, woman hating, scum of the earth. People are truly ignorant. -
I'm sure everyone has seen this by now: https://medium.com/@andreaszecher/open-letter-to-the-gaming-community-df4511032e8a I was reading about this the other day on vg247 and catching some info on twitter. From what I've seen on twitter and in the comments on many articles, quite a few people seem to be pissed off about this: http://www.vg247.com/2014/09/02/devs-pubs-critics-and-press-call-on-gamers-to-stand-against-hateful-behaviour/ I suppose people are annoyed because all the major companies are basically telling all the fans to moderate themselves on their behalf by signing this? Or maybe I'm missing the point of the argument? Maybe people are getting pissed off because "gamers" are being singled out in this? Youtube comments have been almost nothing but hate speech garbage for years now because nobody moderates anything and its not limited to just the gaming community. This could also be a case of the Crans. Some gaming media sites employees might be moderating and banning commentators unfairly because of their one sided biases or inflated egos. A Cran can easily make a large group of people pissed off as we know all too well from past experiences. Anyone know more about this that I'm missing?

Everything You Need to Know about the Destiny BETA!
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Bungie teamed up with Google Maps to make Destiny Planet View and if you view all the cut scenes in it, you can unlock an emblem code for your Destiny account. Or you can skip viewing everything and use the following code to unlock the emblem: 7F9-767-F74 Upon redeeming this code, I noticed that the 17 trading card codes now show what they unlock.. Grimoire Cards. I'm waiting until the game releases before I click those "Use Now" buttons. If you haven't redeemed those codes yet, click Here for the full list. I didn't realize I was so far behind in One Piece. 41 episodes left to watch until I'm caught up with the Japan releases.

I'm not surprised they made another DLC for SR4, but I am surprised that its going to be sold as a standalone game for $19.99 unless you get it in the ultimate editions for the new consoles. It does look fun. I hope they actually stop making DLC for this game tho so I can eventually get a complete edition.
