Samsung galaxy s4 and/or android 4.0+ phones
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Science & Technology
With the galaxy s4, the screen is larger than my old photon and Swyping one handed is much more efficient for me now. I'm surprised Iphones don't have a swype style keyboard. -
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes sounds like a complete waste of money. I might as well just watch a playthrough online. I own Demon's Souls and Dark Souls on PS3.. I played the first 20 minutes of Demon's Souls and I haven't played it since. Dark Souls sounds better than I thought it was going to be. I might just have to play that one. I thought Paper Mario was fun, maybe I'll enjoy that South Park game.. I own FTL and I still haven't played it. Its seems to be popular, but it didn't look that appealing to me.

The DMRs in this game are ridiculously accurate. I love using an RDS with them. Heres a clip of me using the RDS with the SKS, the distance for kills I can get with such a simple scope is nuts: If you're using straight pull bolt, you have to get good at pressing R3 to hold your breath before taking a shot. I almost never use straight pull bolt or the range finder. I use Bipod and 14x variable are on all my sniper rifles. If I'm using an 8x scope, I can switch to 14x for a more accurate headshot, or if I have a 40x scope I switch to the 14x to find my targets / spot and then zoom in for the kill. The bipod makes every shot pixel perfect. Go prone, bipod, line up a shot on a guy, take the shot, unzoom for the scope animation and when you zoom back in you'll be lined up exactly where you were just aiming.. then aim slightly up or down to take the next shot. If he moves, follow him and aim at him again when he stops moving. If you're in a good spot and don't see any enemies, hit and hold the options button, hit R1 to the large map and watch it for a while.. watch the edges of the maps for a random red enemy triangle to pop up, that usually means its a sniper. Aim towards that location, spot him and take him out. If the guy is too far off, aim for the flags or go aggressive with the sniper rifle. A good way to get used to the bolt action is to get the timing down and dodge left or right during the animation. Don't move the R stick at all after firing.. Shoot, unzoom and immediately zoom back in.. this will make you zoom right back in after the animation.. while the animation is happening, strafe left or right, then immediately back to where you just where and when it zooms back in, you'll be aiming at what you were just shooting at for a follow up shot. When I do this, I usually dodge a shot and save my own ass in the process. This isn't the best example of my strafing but you can see how it still effective: The range finder can be useful to figure out the distances on the maps until you get used to it or if you want to make sure that first shot is a kill. You can find the exact range of an enemy, if they are 170 away, get further back until you are exactly 200 away from the enemy, set your rifle to 200 and aim directly at their head for a perfect 1 hit kill.

This is a video of me sniping from that exact location: And heres a video of me on the other side of the map killing someone sniping from that exact location with my SUAV. I agree with DX, that location is definitely the best sniping spot. Aim for the rooftop for easy marksman ribbons. Moving targets are much more challenging. Its all a matter of finding out where the bullet will intersect with the guy's head based on his speed.. lol. I've gotten used to it tho. Aside from a 1,000 meter headshot, my most impressive shot IMO is this one at the 18 second mark.. I hit the guy while he was moving from 900+ meters away. Check some of my other Sniping videos Strider.. You'll notice my pattern, I spot every enemy first, set my distance for the rifle at the bottom of the screen, and then aim at the triangle. If I miss, I'll aim up or down slightly based on how far away he is and what my rifle is set for. If the guy turns out to be 480 meters away, I set my rifle for 500 and aim just below the triangle. Always make sure the vertical line of the scope is always lined up with the middle of that triangle, or the bullet will almost never hit the target if its over 200+ meters away. Setting the distance on the rifle is the biggest improvement over Battlefield 3. In BF3 you had to aim inches above enemies heads and always adjust for the bullet drop. But with that range / distance setting, bullet drop is way easier to manage now.

COD will now have exoskeletons like in the movie Elysium.. Ok.. That could be cool, but aside from showing a bunch of stuff exploding, there was no reveal about what the actual plot of this game is. I'm guessing the USA invades another country? COD Advanced Warfare is being released on the all the old gen systems, so even though this trailer was from Xbox One, I'm guessing the multiplayer will be the exact same game again as Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. Same thing, new maps, some new weapons, still 6 vs. 6.. the only thing that could be different for the multiplayer this time is if they have wall climbing and large jumps. I'll pass on buying this game until I read reviews for the campaign, because I doubt I'll be interested in this multiplayer. Battlefield 4 and Star Wars Battlefront will be my multiplayer games of choice. Nothing beats teamwork. I'd rather have teamwork over never ending TDM any day of the week. Titanfall looks good from what I've seen of it, but they set themselves pretty high.. Titanfall 2 will have to be a better game, because if they release a sequel that is basically the same game again with 1 extra titan and different maps, they'll set themselves on the same course COD is on now. The best advice I can give you is to spot an enemy so they get that little red triangle. Aim for the dead center of that triangle and take a shot, if you miss, then aim just a bit higher and keep repeating. Either snipe other snipers at long distance because they are usually prone and good targets, or aim towards a flag. You can aim directly at the flag, find out the distance the flag is from you, then hit the down d pad until you are zero'ed in. If the flag is 300 meters away, stay in that area, set you rifle to 300 and aim dead center at the enemy triangle for a headshot. Another tip.. you can scope in on a team mate and see how far away they are too, set your rifle for that distance and start shooting at enemies near that guy.

Everything You Need to Know about the Destiny BETA!
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
I'm glad the loot will be separate. I really like how they are incorporating MMO style elements into an FPS. Elite armor, individual loot, co-op, but then it lets you have your weapons available across all classes and that is great. Depending on how I end up playing this game, I might switch back and forth between sniping and being a tank that rushes into the mass of enemies. -

Vikings Season 2 Episode Discussion (possible spoilers)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I was completely pleased with the season finale. Floki was awesome. Thinking back on this season.. everything Siggy told Horik about the value of knowing your friend's weaknesses, her desire to regain her position as an Earl's wife, etc.. she played him from the beginning. She practically told him that she was gathering intel on him.. and then she says to Rollo that everything she did, she did for him. By ensuring that Ragnar would eventually become king, Rollo would be in a position to become Earl, thus securing her regained status. She was never on Horik's side. Or if she was playing both sides, she knew who was the correct choice. The things she did to get Horik's trust were extreme, but his biggest mistake was telling her to kill Ragnar's kids and his knife was all the physical proof Ragnar needed to justify killing him. The entire setup for the final confrontation was great. Horik's wife was preparing to join a slaughter only to get destroyed by Lagertha. But Ragnar's one guy told her to leave so she wouldn't have to deal with the daughter issue. Ragnar was probably never even drunk, just like his one guy never died. Horik was completely surprised and got what he deserved. Floki.. most of the episode I thought he was about to kill Bjorn, but he was completely watching over him. When he told Horik on the beach "I decided who I want to kill".. it was Horik himself and he never saw it coming. And in the end, Ragnar went ballistic on Horik's corpse. Brutal. I read an interview about the guy writing season 3 of Vikings: -

Thats an odd dream. I had a dream 2 nights ago.. I was in a large city with skyscrapers. I was on a large rooftop hanging out with some woman and we were watching a couple of guys that were like Ryu and Ken from street fighter. They were sparring and causing damage to the building with their powerful attacks while we were shocked that people like this existed in real life. Then we heard some explosions in the distance and the building started to collapse. Ryu and Ken jumped off somewhere and I never saw them again, while me and this woman ran to the edge of the building and jumped to the next roof top before the building went completely down. She ran off somewhere while I got down to the street. More explosions where happening people were running for their lives. I got to the street and saw some large 15 foot monster chasing people down. I tried to run but I was too shocked, thats when I noticed a woman standing in front of me that looked like the woman from DC comic's project Cadmus, except she had some glowing red symbols on her forehead. She looked at me, then turned and looked at the person standing next to me. She put her hand on his forehead and then walked away.. the guy started freaking out and mutating so I ran. I found my way into a mall that looked mostly empty except for a large group of people inside a store with the large metal security grates closed. I wondered why everyone was in there and thats when I noticed someone running towards them.. he was being chased by this really slow 9-10 foot tall mutant looking human.. the mutant thing had elongated arms and legs, most of its scalp was bald except for longer hair hanging from the crown of it's head and its face looked mostly melted. Thats when I saw there where 4 more and one was walking towards me. So I ran from it and got to the other group of people and they let me in the security grate. The mutants were actually humans that were transformed.. I woke up.. I guess it was an alien invasion? wtf.
