This is why I will never buy another Motorola phone
Sledgstone commented on Sledgstone's blog entry in Sledge's Blog
My first cell phone was way back when I was a teenager.. I had one of the first digital cell phones from a company called Aerial One Wireless. I had a Sony Ericsson and an a Nokia that weighed about 5 pounds. lol. That Ericsson was good.. for making phone calls, things like texting didn't exist yet.. at least I don't think they did. It looked like this: Except I didn't have that cool Coke skin.. I had these phones for about a year and then I dropped the cell phone plan because the service was horrendous. I didn't get another cell phone again until almost 10 years later. I forget what my original Sprint phone was, but I ended up getting a Rumor 2 that lasted me aboiut 3 years because it was the best phone I could get without having a smart phone plan.. That Rumor 2 phone was fun for the first year or 2, then it started feeling aged.. and once I got a smartphone I realized what I've been missing out on.. and now that I know what other people have over my outdated Motorola, its annoying.- 11 comments

The Colosseum battles will make for some good animated episodes. I had a feeling all the toys on Desrossa was the result of a DF user... but is it the same one that is transforming the Sunny, Nami and the others into works of living Picasso artwork? If not, then Doflamingo has a couple of DF users on his team that are capable of altering reality itself. Thats crazy. I have a feeling that the tournament for the fire fruit has another darker agenda.. All those Marines are outside of the colosseum waiting for all the wounded pirates and fugitives so they can capture them... but not a single injured person has walked out.. Now that we know the factory is located in the basement of the colosseum and that there are slaves working there.. Doflamingo might be enslaving all the losers while they are in their weakened state. Considering he is one of the nobles, I wouldn't put it past him that he'd have restraining collars placed onto every severely injured combatant and then immediately put to work.. they'd all be slaves like at Shabondy Archipelago.

When you say episode you're talking about the anime and not the new manga chapter right? I know how you like to call new manga chapters "episodes".

The Photon 4G is the only Motorola phone that looked good to me because of its hardware.. but without the correct software running the phone, Motorola is crap.- 11 comments

Actor Peter Capaldi has been announced as the new star of BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who. The 55-year-old Glasgow-born star will be the 12th actor to play the Doctor, replacing out-going lead Matt Smith. Capaldi is best known for his role as foul-mouthed spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker in the BBC series The Thick of It. "It's so wonderful not to keep this secret any longer, but it's been so fantastic," he said after the news was revealed on a live BBC One show. The actor had been the bookmakers' favourite to take on the role, with betting on him becoming the next Doctor suspended on Friday. It is not the first time Capaldi has appeared on the show - he played Roman merchant Caecilius in 2008 Doctor Who adventure The Fires of Pompeii. At 55, he is the same age as William Hartnell when he was cast in the role as the first Doctor in 1963. "Being asked to play the Doctor is an amazing privilege. Like the Doctor himself I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight. I can't wait to get started," he said. Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23570354 I hope he does a good job.. he is not what I was expecting.. I assumed it would be another young guy. Maybe this doctor will be a bit more on the dark side like Christopher Eccleston's incarnation was.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-23576143 Click the link to read the rest of the story.. I don't think I'd want to eat that... but I beat its better quality meat than what we get at Taco Bell and McDonalds. This could be the future of meat production in the future, but I won't be pleased until they can grow a full sirloin steak with perfect fat marbling... And then eventually someone will make Star Trek TNG replicators and thats when I'll become obese... I'll sit in front of that thing and order endless buckets of KFC with mashed potatoes and gravy.

New Season of Sailor Moon Delayed
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
Sailor Moon would be awesome as a new DBZ.. I think they should make the new anime like "Young Justice".. that would be even better... just as long as they don't kiddie up the show and target it to tweens.- 80 replies

I like having some physical copies of games if they are collectors editions with special packaging and includes special items.. but almost all physical games for PC require an internet connection at some point to play a game.. at least everything EA or Blizzard. I remember when I bought StarCraft 2 on physical disc. I got home, put the disc in and assumed it would install and I'd be playing within 5 minutes.. nope.. physical discs seem pointless especially when they don't have the bulk of the game on them anymore. I had to download the game for about 40 minutes before I could start playing. If more physical games for PC were DRM free and actually had the full game on the discs, it'd be a different story. Some of those mods for Skyrim look amazing. I wish I had a full gaming PC, just to experience that game in its full potential.

This season annoyed me.. I felt like dropping the show during season 2, but the ending with the new aliens really piqued my interest.. but this season has disappointed me. But before I get into that.. yes! So many commercial breaks! I kept flipping back over to Shark Week on Discovery channel. Maybe I missed an episode where things were explained.. but the things that annoyed me about this season include: They really need some good writers.. I'd list off the good parts of the series, but its hard for me.. because the good parts of team work, human struggle, emotional scenes, etc. all happen so frequently that they lose all meaning. I know TNT prides itself on "drama", but man, they need to balance that out with some good writing and plausible scenarios.

That was one of the best trailers I've seen in a while. I loved that electricity kill.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - Trask Industries Sentinel Program
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
You have a good point. I didn't think much about the scale of Sentinels, I was just excited that they'd be in the movie.. but now that you point that out, I am a bit disappointed. These things should be larger than houses.. This thing is so tall, its head looks small from the ground perspective. Now thats a huge mech. If Michael Bay was involved, those Sentinels would be gigantic, there would be over 1000 of them, and each one would explode when defeated... and Wolverine would be able to berserker attack just one, while forcing it back into another sentinel and when he finished it off, it would start a domino chain reaction of sentinel explosions.- 5 replies

The HTC One definitely looks like a better phone than the Moto X. I'm interested in seeing what the new Nexus will be like. At least google will keep that phone up to date, unlike their subsidiary company.- 11 comments

Akira live action film is back on with a slimmer budget.
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I forgot all about that Kenshin movie, I'll have to get that.. and not to ruin your day.. aside from the Akira movie, James Cameron is still planning on making Battle Angel into a movie after he finishes Avatar 3. http://www.slashfilm.com/james-cameron-says-battle-angel-will-come-after-avatar-3-hollywood-is-overusing-3d/ With it being James Cameron, I'll assume he'll have a huge budget and the right CG to do the job.. but with that price tag, who knows what changes he'll make to the story to ensure a large enough target audience to make a profit. -
Steam is currently having it's QuakeCon weekend sale and I noticed something troubling.. The 8bit game Commander Keen is on sale for a staggering $89.99 and its more expensive than Skyrim. Of course it must be a glitch because thats the price of the QuakeCon bundle, and if you go to that game's individual page, you'll see the correct price of $3.74.. but man, when I was scrolling through that list of games on sale, that price tag really caught me by surprise.

Akira live action film is back on with a slimmer budget.
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I think Akira would be a better Japanese made movie released in their theaters and then dubbed for blu ray release in the US. The CG wouldn't be nearly as good as a hollywood production, but at least it would resemble the actual anime.. like those Death Note live action movies. -
I loved Ronin Warriors. A live action movie of that would be epic. On a side note, I tried watching the japanese version of it and wow.. the english version was completely edited.. even names were swapped with different characters. I think he did good in it too. I've seen it a couple times now and its one of the few movies hes in that I actually bought on dvd. I don't care for most of his other roles, hes usually all action and no substance. I think Keanu needs to redeem himself acting wise. I didn't care for him in the Matrix movies, but the guy does have some acting skill, he just keeps getting roles that don't really seem fit for him IMO. Although he owned in Bill & Ted.

I remember having so many high expectations for the Super Mario Bros movie.. I kept thinking the gombas would be Yoda sized puppets and Bowser would be this awesome looking house sized godzilla monster.. and then I got my issue of Nintendo Power with pictures of the upcoming movie.. Wow.. I now expect this Akira movie to look like Karate-Robo Zaborgar... look it up on netflix. lmfao. -

That movie was horrible! 8 foot tall gombas.. although I still remember Mario and Luigi's guns in that trailer were SNES Super Scopes that shot lasers.. wtf. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXyCbrdQEyA This phone will always be listening.. As if people weren't concerned before about the Kinect watching and listening to you.. now your smartphone will listen in on everything as it waits to hear its voice commands. I would only like this feature if I had the option to turn it off. Thats a nice feature.. shake the camera to enable camera and then take a quick pic.. at least until you start jogging.. then your phone will be taking a bunch of pictures of the inside of your pants. http://www.motorola.com/us/consumers/Moto-X/moto-x,en_US,pg.html Heres a couple articles about it: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2422605,00.asp http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2422625,00.asp In my opinion, I would never buy this phone. Mostly because it is a Motorola.. and this is why I would never buy a Motorola: http://www.ancientclan.com/blog/1/entry-368-this-is-why-i-will-never-own-another-motorola-phone/ So what do you guys think? Decent phone? Great new features? Iphone Siri ripoff?

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57526994-94/android-users-outraged-over-motorolas-broken-promise/ Next phone I buy will be an HTC or a Samsung. I will never buy a Motorola phone again. I specifically bought this phone because it was on sale, it had basically the same specs as the samsung galaxy at the time and it was guaranteed to be upgraded to the latest android operating system. I never got that upgraded operating system. Android 2.3 is so outdated, that numerous apps are not even available for it. I cannot even run Google Chrome.. wtf. No Vine, no Time Warner app, etc. Numerous basic features on all phones are not available to me because I bought this phone with the belief that I'd only use the old operating system for another month or so. I remember when my brother's Nexus got upgraded to android 4.1, he was talking about how it was like a brand new phone again.. I was looking forward to this upgrade for so long.. and then my hopes were crushed. Say no to Motorola. Don't even bother buying their crap, because its completely unsupported.
