  1. Their gigabit + TV plan is cheaper than what I'm paying for Time Warner's lowest broadband with HD digital package.
  2. Uh oh.. I just realized that RFID over WIFI is an actual technology.. Employers could embed RFID chips into employee badges and completely track their employees every move regardless of cell phones.
  3. I was talking to my brother earlier today about this and he made a good point. Most malls have free WIFI.. well, now we all know why malls have free WIFI, its because they are data mining the hell out of everyone.
  4. I think Google Fiber costs more than Road Runner.. but its insanely fast.. I wish I could have some fast internet like that. But its not just Google fiber out there.. there are other cities with fiber already: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-12-27/u-s-internet-users-pay-more-for-slower-service.html Its all about greed. They want more and more money. And I think its ridiculous for them to even consider data limits when their networks can easily handle the traffic. Even now TW is going to price hike the 'modem fee'.. that free modem we've all been using for years started costing $3.99 a month last november and now the price will jump up to $5.99 a month because of the "cost associated with providing the modem." Yes... the modem that they provided me 7 years ago will now cost me $6 because its so damn expensive. http://news.yahoo.com/time-warner-cable-raises-internet-modem-fees-customers-220444909.html
  5. I bought this just to get Saints Row 2 and to get the full Saints Row 3 sound track. I already have the full DLC for SR3. Its a shame the Dead Island and SR3 DLC was a joint steam key.
  6. Data limits are ridiculous and I feel sorry for those cities that are in Comcast and Time Warner's testing grounds for data limited plans. I think once the cell phone companies drastically improve their networks we'll see unlimited data plans come back. I think the reason they stopped unlimited to begin with was because of the smartphone advancements that lets them be used as wireless data access points for laptops and home networks. If there was unlimited data still, people would probably be streaming netflix on 5 different tvs while using carbonite to constantly backup 3 computers over their phone data connection. I don't think their networks could even come close to handling that kind of data atm.
  7. http://lifehacker.com/how-retail-stores-track-you-using-your-smartphone-and-827512308 Basically as long as you have WIFI turned on, your phone will recognize WIFI networks in the area. Even if you do not connect to any WIFI networks, those networks can see your phone and just like your phone can recognize a network is in the area... But these networks will record your MAC address and can then determine your position in the store, watch where you are going and know everything you are looking at as long as you are within range of it. Turn your WIFI off when you are not using it. This post has been promoted to an article

  9. I wouldn't be surprised if within ten years, cell phone companies will have new "18G LTE - THI SIST HEFA STIS TSHIT EVER" networks that allow us all to to download at 1GB per second. And if it gets to that, then cell phone companies will be the new broadband companies. Everyone will get rid of road runner and comcast and get Verizon data plans. And it won't have to be just at home either.. their networks are advancing enough that the entire nation will basically be one giant wifi network. We won't have to worry about getting new cable and fiber optic lines because everything will be wireless. I think Steam will be just as relevant with their distribution methods in the future as long as internet download speeds improve. And in terms of storage, all these new optical discs may not be worth much in terms of distributing games or software if the majority of the games end up getting hosted on cloud servers and all you'll need to play a game is a simple laptop with no high end specs.
  10. This is interesting, it reminded me of these articles I read about last month.. and completely forgot about until just now. Researchers were able to make a new technique that allows them to store 1,000 TB on a single DVD. http://phys.org/news/2013-06-storage-terabytes-dvd.html http://www.nature.com/ncomms/2013/130619/ncomms3061/full/ncomms3061.html The Sony / Panasonic approach is obviously for commercial use which is bigger news because it is tech we'll actually be able to use at some point in the near future, while the 1,000 TB dvd will probably be a least decade or more away at this point. lmao.
  11. I think you're right. These shells do mush up pretty fast.. but then again so do the regular shells here. I should do a test and get a regular supreme and a locos tacos supreme and let them sit for 10 minutes to compare. I think they should have made the taco shells more crunchy like the Doritos Locos Tacos chips. If they'd have had that doritos crunch they would have been better and it would have compensated for the sogginess. But then again, if the shell didn't get soggy and was that crunchy, people would probably cut the hell out of their mouths on jagged pieces.
  12. Doritos® Locos Tacos are the perfect combination of Doritos and Taco Bell. I'd say the perfect combination of tacos instead of "Taco Bell", but American tacos are completely different from actual tacos, but lets save that for another time. Currently there are two Doritos Locos Tacos available across the US, the Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese. Some parts of the US have a third flavor called "Flamas", these I have not seen yet in my area. I did however get one Cool Ranch and a Nacho Cheese. Its noticeable that these taco shells are large versions of Doritos. I like getting these as Supreme tacos, loaded with cheese and sour cream. The Doritos flavor really adds to these tacos. The key word is flavor, these are not full large versions of Doritos, but actually Doritos flavoring imparted upon taco shells. While Doritos are a very hard and crunchy chip, they did not do a full conversion, these are still taco shells. This makes sense because you are eating tacos. If these were full large scale chips, they wouldn't taste right because everyone is used to the taco shell taste when eating Taco Bell. You'll notice that the tacos come with thin cardboard sleeves, thats because these chips will impart their flavor all over your fingers and hands if you are not careful, especially the nacho cheese flavor. Even if you try to keep the tacos in their sleeves, you will still get seasoning all over your fingers. I recommend the Cool Ranch over the Nacho Cheese.. the nacho cheese flavor seems to blend in with the cheese of the taco and it doesn't seem to add much to the overall flavor. But the Cool Ranch tacos noticeably and completely change the flavor profile of the taco creating a completely unique taste experience. Should you eat these? Yes! Especially if you are a fan of Cool Ranch Doritos.
  13. Utz Cheddar Cheese Balls are a nice airy treat with a decent cheese flavor. Utz often changes the containers their cheese balls come in to coincide with different seasons or events. These particular pictures were taken back during the NBA playoffs which is why the container has basketball ridges and corresponding sticker. These cheese balls have a decent cheddar cheese flavoring that is superior to Cheetos Puffs. Of course the flavoring is just that, a flavoring.. In no way does it actually taste like little balls of delicious cheese. On the other hand the flavoring is decent for what it is and will satisfy a cheese craving. Being a cheese poof, they are not dense at all, you'll grab a small bowl of these and within a few minutes you'll realize how quickly they disappear. These cheese balls are very consistent in terms of texture and flavoring, but you will occasionally find a ball or two that seems to have a bit of a hard piece. Should you eat these? Yes. If you are a fan of cheese puff snacks, definitely try these out. I recommend them over Cheetos.
  14. The improvements they are making to IPB look really great. Some of the highlights for me: http://community.invisionpower.com/blog/1174/entry-9537-ips-40-editor-part-1-content/ Embeds will always work. Now that is a huge difference. http://community.invisionpower.com/blog/1174/entry-9538-ips-40-editor-part-2-uploads/ Drag and drop images right into the editor. I've been waiting for this feature. No more having to click attach and then navigate to the right folder where your image is.. just drag it right into the editor. http://community.invisionpower.com/blog/1174/entry-9539-ips-40-editor-part-3-customisation-and-bbcode/ This is a big change and I hope they pull it off correctly. All our custom bbcodes will be negated. But the only custom bbcode we actually use is the spoiler tag, which will now be a default feature. All other custom bbcodes will now have to be created as CKEditor plugins.. but there are already a lot of ckeditor plugins available. So I could technically add a variety of new editor features. http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/388306-ips-40-editor-part-4-special-features/ Very very nice. I like this. Good! No more having to click the load saved content option. Simplifying this will make the auto save much better. Oh! and the editor will now be fully skin-able! The editor won't have to be glaring white on a dark theme anymore. Also, the current skins that we use are going to be upgraded for IPB 4.0. We won't have to change the entire look of the site.
  15. That could be the case. Honestly, Last of Us and Tomb Raider are the best looking games I have ever seen on the PS3. Those games look as good as almost any PC game with max graphics settings.
  16. I started playing KOTOR last night. I kept running around trying to dodge enemy fire only to realize my guy wouldn't shoot his damn blaster.. after about 4 enemy encounters I realized I was doing combat completely wrong. -_-

I'm not that far into it, but its definitely enjoyable. Its like an interactive novel. It took me a while to get through the initial character creation and reading the tutorials. I'm used to action games and this game requires more patience. I only played Dungeons and Dragons a handful of times so it took me a little while to understand the in game explanations for stats and how attacks/dodges and everything else is calculated.

  17. I've read about that too.. some games being knocked down graphically for ps3 and pc just for xbox policies.. if that ends up being the same again with the next gen we might not see the full potential for games on PS4 unless they are exclusives because MS will have the developer handcap the graphics on their competition.
  18. Imagine it in his nostrils.. ewww...
  19. Its interesting that Xbox 360 will allow self publishing, but it doesn't sound like it will be an easy process: http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/24/xbox-one-indie-self-publishing/ Ouch. This reminds me of message board software. We used vBulletin for a number of years and the mods available were all free.. then after switching over to Invision power board, the majority of the mods cost money. While most of the mods I have used are free, quite a few are definitely well worth the money and the fact that the modder is getting paid for it, it gives them incentive to keep the mod up to date and working bug free. Of course they need to keep their prices low or nobody will buy their mods. Invisionpower has an official marketplace where the mods are listed and sold, they handle the transaction and keep a small percentage. It works good for them, but I don't see it working ok for games.. Its one thing for invisionpower to allow mods and get a percentage because they are the only company involved. The issue with games is the numerous developers that won't want people making a profit off a mod for their game. If there is no money being made then the companies don't care.. but as soon as money comes into place everyone wants a piece of the pie. It like all those fanfics out there for popular series. Online and free is fine, but as soon as someone publishes and expects revenue from it, expect the company to sue the hell out of them. Of course there are also massive mods out there for pc games now that are completely free, but must have taken massive man hours to create.. like the Black Mesa mod for Half-Life. I was looking at that the other day and installed it.. I'm honestly surprised that its completely free. Its literally Half-Life 1 recreated with the Half-Life 2 source code from scratch with completely improved graphics.
  20. Nasty. I wish he didn't record himself throwing up.. eww.. I skipped that part.
  21. Yes, that was annoying. There were numerous times where one of my brothers was on the opposite team and we'd have to wait for an opening for them to switch over. Getting into a server and being in completely different squads was so common, we all got used to making a new squad as soon as we got into a match.
  22. I don't think so.. It'd probably kill me. I'd have one of the most elaborate and expensive funerals tho. How about you?
  23. I need this game. These new features look bad ass.
  24. I think we did discuss this before. Screw those insanity sauces. I'll stick with 50,000 scoville or less.
  25. Yep. https://plus.google.com/118237136691579508350/about?hl=en Worst theater ever. I didn't know any better and watched the first lord of the rings movie there.. the subtitles were blocked by ever head in the place. As soon as subs started, everyone's heads in the entire audience moved like white water rapids trying to get a glimpse of wtf the elf woman was saying.
