Maybe this game would have made more sense to me if I actually played Black Ops 1. Thinking about how BO2 played, I think I liked the flashback missions better than the future missions.. It felt more like I was in control in the gameplay, while in the future missions all the scopes made it too easy. There were 2 parts in the last couple missions that annoyed the hell out of me. I had to fly a plane with the worst controls ever with no actual way to keep the plane from flying into everything. And another part where I was free falling out of an airplane while trying to dodge missiles in the 2 square inches of moveable space I was allowed to stay in. I died at least 4-5 times for each of those brief moments. If CoD trys to put flyable jets into their next game, they are years behind battlefield.

I need more sleep. Work is so annoying. At least tomorrow is friday.
-
Haha. Yeah, that ends up being the case for me sometimes.. but staying up late for me now is 11:30pm. lmao. *feels like an old man*
-
Pfft, try sleeping during the day like I do. I'm lucky to get 5 hours of sleep between the neighborhood children screaming (school really should be all year round) and the sunlight (curse you sunlight, I will find a way to do away with you). Plus at least it's Friday for you, it's my Tuesday
-
Good luck with that. I don't think I could do third shift. Your sleep schedule sounds like my brothers. He works from 9pm to 6am and sleeps during the day and his weekends start sunday night. And I agree about school. It should be year round. *nod*

The newest Humble Indie Bundle is here and I've heard many good things about the game "Little Inferno". It was made by the same people that created "World of Goo" that was also available in a previous Humble Indie Bundle. I've put many hours into World of Goo, so I'll pay a $1 to get another one of their games. Click here to view the article

I don't think I ever played Shadow President. It does look like a game my older brother would have probably played back then. Metro Last Light looks good and I've seen on twitter where people do give it good ratings.

I finally got around to beating the campaign over the weekend. The story really seemed to fall apart at the end. Also, at the end after all the credits there was a CG character based music video.. it seemed so out of place it made me think they were basically mocking the game in the end.

Lay's Chicken & Waffles is one of the three Lay's potato chip flavors available as part of the "Lay's Do Us A Flavor" contest. That contest has ended already and I'm a bit late in posting this review. Upon looking at this bag I thought to myself, "Ewww.. Denny's and KFC combined their flavors into what might be amazing chips!" The chips are a darker yellow in color compared to regular Lay's. When opening the bag, the smell is the first thing that you notice. Maple Syrup, a very strong maple syrup smell. The flavor is also Maple syrup but doesn't taste like waffles or chicken in the slightest. Its more like pancakes and some seasonings that might be included in a chicken fry mix... But not chicken at all. Its a more meaty flavor because of how greasy the chips are. These were the most unique flavored chips I've ever eaten and not unique in a good way. The first couple chips are interesting to try, but after 5 or so you'll notice a greasy film starting to coat the inside of your mouth and tongue. After 10 chips I thought maybe something else I ate was affecting the flavor. So I tried again the next day after I got home from work.. Nope.. Disgusting. Another 20 chips in and I couldn't stomach them anymore. Should you eat these? No. I'm glad these did not win the contest. Horrible chips. They reminded me of the failed Olestra Pringles. Not because of the flavor, but because of the possible side effects caused by eating them.

Star Trek Into Darkness Final Trailer
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I'm tempted to look at your spoiler tag, but I must resist. I missed some posts in this topic! The Star Trek universe has a technology called "Inertial Dampers" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inertia_negation With that tech, a space ship could probably look like a sail boat with a full open sail and still hit warp speeds. -

Good news is that current blu ray players including the PS3 will be able to play the upcoming 4k standard, so we shouldn't have to worry about a new super blu ray or competing new format for at least another 5 years. Blu Ray as a format is nice because it is DRM free. If you want to take it to a friends house or let someone borrow a movie its not an issue.. But in the future I can see all that coming to a stop. Many movie publishers have signed up with Ultraviolet.. basically a steam like account for all your digitally purchased movies and tv shows: http://www.uvvu.com/faqs.php#question-5 and Sony has integrated all their networks, including PSN into their one system. With this in place, they could put start implementing DRM on blu ray discs in the future. http://www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/home/ Once everything is tied to everyone's acccounts, physical copies of games and movies will only be a means of distributing digital ownership. I don't think used games, movies, shows, etc. will even be sell-able in the future.

Defiance - Current Episode Discussion
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
You mean Terra Nova? I thought that show ended good. It had some slow parts with some teenage drama in a couple episodes, but overall it was a solid show. -
It'll be interesting if PS4 goes for DRM.. oh the rage people will have. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony did that tho, all these companies are trying to copy steam.. but steam doesn't have physical games in stores like the consoles. So the new consoles will have to figure something new out to make everyone pay $60 a piece. But the culture of used games and borrowing is embedded into everyone. No more red box, no more borrowing games from friends... Considering Sony owns blu ray and all movies are out on blu ray, will Sony then impliment a DRM for blu ray movies next? Nobody will be able to borrow any movies in the future because the disk could be locked to only 2 players or some crap.

I don't see how used games are causing all console games to stay high in price.. I think its greedy corporations. Because they can charge those prices, they do. And used games haven't been doing Gamestop much good considering they had to close hundreds of stores earlier this year: Gamestop Closing 250 stores I think game prices have been fixed for years for consoles. A new game that has been out for years will almost never drop below $20 new, ever, unless its on sale for $15. On Steam.. wait 7 months after release and the new game will go on sale for $7. StarCraft 2 has been doing this for years. The game is tied to your account upon installation, but if you wanted to share the experience with someone you can give them a guest pass. Each box comes with some codes and you pass them out to friends. But its not unlimited. It allows full game access for 7 hours or 14 days upon activation, whichever comes first. I think by limiting the time like that it will prevent anyone from beating the game, but because its way longer than a demo, it could get new players hooked.

It makes me wonder if Ebay will be able to or not. Considering ebay is the middle man making the sale, ebay doesn't actually sell the product or ship it themselves which would force everyone selling used games to sign up as retailers.. Instead of that, Ebay would have to put a system in place to accept the game trade in like gamestop would do, and then they would have to hold onto the digital ownership of that game until the sale is made. At least that way used games would be verified before a sale even took place. I could see that working.

All Xbox One Games Might Require A Constant Internet Connection
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Whats interesting tho, is the fact that they could technically run the existing PSN on the cloud and stream it completely to the PS4 while still using PS World as the new network. But like what DX was saying, they'll drop PSN for the new system. Considering PSN will still be in existence for years to come for existing PS3s, it makes sense to have the two networks separated for the two systems. Even tho PSN won't be on the PS4, all digital products should be accessible or at least transferable to new PS World accounts as far as I'm concerned. Nintendo did that with the Wii U, so I don't see why Sony won't do it for the PS4. I already read that Xbox One will have no backwards compatibility with 360 games, physical or downloadable. Even tho the accounts will carry over, all digital games will not. -
I love tanks. Tanks make everything better! What about more players? Would CoD Ghosts be a better game if every match could be 8 vs 8 or 12 vs 12 instead of 6 vs 6?

All Xbox One Games Might Require A Constant Internet Connection
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Yep, I usually pay the extra $5. I don't have their membership card so I'm not saving anything extra with buying used. I'd rather pay the extra $5 and know the condition of the disk is top quality. PS4 will stream all the old PS3 games with Gaikai. From what I've read on multiple sites, no PS3 games will be downloadable or playable via backwards compatibility. Instead they'll be played on the gaikai cloud servers and streamed to the PS4 consoles. I'm hoping I won't have to increase my broadband connection for it tho. But because the games will be the PS3 versions, Sony should have no problem enabling all digitally purchased PS3 games on PSN to be played on the PS4. If they try to make everyone buy all the games all over again, I think that would be a dick move on their part. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/gamesgear/ps4-will-stream-ps3-games-via-gaikai-wsj-says-50010440/ -

Playstation 4 Will Have 50% More Raw Graphical Power Than Xbox One
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
I noticed that once me and my brothers all had matching clan tags displayed on our names, usually someone would jump in and fill that last spot on our squad just to get the ace squad medals.. someone would always join our squad. We usually never locked our squad, so we almost always had some guy jump in unannounced. I'd say to my brother: "I'm coming to revive you!", He says hes not dead.. turns out I was helping out the newb guy half the time and never noticed his name. lol. Oh well, if hes on my squad I'll help him out. Thats hilarious!- 13 replies

It would be interesting if DLC would be tradeable online along with the sale of a used game. I doubt that would happen tho. DLC makes companies way too much money. *updates the article* I should have said craigslist, ebay or garage sales. Oops.

Microsoft might be changing the entire used game market with their next console system the Xbox One. When a game is resold at a used game store like Gamestop, the retailer makes all the profit off the sale. In an attempt to get publishers and Microsoft a piece of those transactions, Microsoft might be putting strict limits on the transferring of physical games. In a report made by MCV, only retailers that have signed up with Microsoft will be allowed to resell used physical games. If this ends up being true, then don't expect to be able to sell those used games on craigslist, ebay or at a garage sale. Unless you are a registered used seller with Microsoft, those already installed game discs will be nothing more than coasters to sit your drinks on. None of this has been confirmed, but it does seem plausible. In fact, it could be the future of used game sales if Sony decides to adopt the same system. There is also the possibility that Microsoft will put a stop to all used game sales for their console altogether and instead have an online MS run marketplace for the sale and transfer of used games.
