Microsoft might be changing the entire used game market with their next console system the Xbox One. When a game is resold at a used game store like Gamestop, the retailer makes all the profit off the sale. In an attempt to get publishers and Microsoft a piece of those transactions, Microsoft might be putting strict limits on the transferring of physical games. In a report made by MCV, only retailers that have signed up with Microsoft will be allowed to resell used physical games. If this ends up being true, then don't expect to be able to sell those used games on craigslist, ebay or at a garage sale. Unless you are a registered used seller with Microsoft, those already installed game discs will be nothing more than coasters to sit your drinks on. None of this has been confirmed, but it does seem plausible. In fact, it could be the future of used game sales if Sony decides to adopt the same system. There is also the possibility that Microsoft will put a stop to all used game sales for their console altogether and instead have an online MS run marketplace for the sale and transfer of used games. The Xbox One could very well be more powerful than the Playstation 4 thanks to cloud computing. Official Xbox Magazine is reporting that for every Xbox One sold by Microsoft, there will be the equivalent of three additional console's CPU and storage available to each system by means of a constant internet connection to MS's cloud servers. Of course this means if a game developer wants to take advantage of the Xbox One's powerful cloud servers, a constant internet connection will be required. This would mean that any or even all games made for the system could possibly require a constant internet connection.. But why didn't Microsoft mention this potential during their Xbox One reveal event? This also raises more questions.. Could it be that Sony's Gaikai tech is even more powerful? Will the Xbox One still match up with Playstation 4 if Sony reveals computing potential with their cloud servers? Sony has said that constant online connections are not required, does this mean all game developers are planning on utilizing the PS4's specs only and not the potential cloud specs? Will this mean all future console games will come with a label indicating if a constant cloud connection is required or not? We'll have to wait for E3 to get all the details. In the mean time, check out this video of Crysis 2 being played on a web browser thanks to Sony's Gaikai system: Source: Official Xbox Magazine Click here to view the article

Playstation 4 Will Have 50% More Raw Graphical Power Than Xbox One

We'd be a great squad. I never spoke to anyone on BF3 on the mic because so many people didn't bother using it compared to CoD. Even so, I'd still get random friend requests from other players. I have about 4 people that will join my squad or I'll join their squad if I see them on and we've never spoken and I have no idea who they are.- 13 replies

lmao. Thats the nice thing about server admins, most of them are ok.. but most are 14 year olds that will ban you for sniping / knifing them or blowing up their helicopter. *been banned from least 15 servers* The worst cheating I saw on a youtube video was some asshole running around remote killing everyone with tug sensors and spawn beacons while they are safe on the other side of the map. How the hell he was doing that is beyond me.. I love looking through the patch notes and seeing something like: "We have identified and eliminated a bug where players in specific cases would be rendered invulnerable." and this one was golden: "We fixed a bug where server admins could exploit the system to effectively become immortal on his/her server."

If CoD brought back tanks or some other vehicles, or at least increased the amount of players, then they might have a good game. But if its mostly 6 vs. 6 TDM with more elaborate kill streaks, then that would be weak. I've never owned any of the CoDs before Black Ops 2, and if the next game is just an upgraded version of that with some new guns and maps, then I could see it getting stale pretty quick. I'll probably still get it for the campaign at some point.. I'll just buy it used someday.. but not for Xbox One.. *random gif I found*

Playstation 4 Will Have 50% More Raw Graphical Power Than Xbox One

Thats the one big thing I'm really looking forward to at E3.. If Dice announces 64 player BF4 on next gen consoles and if it will be the same game on consoles as it is on PCs, then that would be huge news to me. I already know I won't bother getting BF4 on PS3, that game will be the first next gen game I buy when I can afford a new console. One of my brothers has already decided to get a PS4 over a month ago.. as it is now, I'll have to get one just to have someone to play BF4 with.- 13 replies

Next generation Xbox will be revealed on May 21

If PS World costs a subscription fee, then it better be much much better than the current PS3 setup. Sending and receiving game invites thru PSN is cumbersome. I would assume the new PS World is going to be good considering everything they've been talking about, like being able to live stream every game and having friends pause their games to watch what you are playing, etc. -
I am really looking forward to Destiny. Everything I read or see about this game makes me want to see more. If Morgan Freeman was in that trailer just now explaining everything.. I'd have already set aside money for this game. I don't care much for the camera situation.. I'm hoping the PS4 will allow camera off functionality. I already read that the Xbox One kinect camera might, in some form, be on 24/7 even if the system is off. I love those humble bundles.. but the only game I've played in any real length that I bought from one was Cave Story+. I put 15 hours into that game.. I could have put more into Saints Row the Third, and I'm sure I will, but I haven't had the time to play it. I think I prefer PC gaming over consoles, but I prefer consoles for multiplayer games. Mostly because the PC versions are usually full of cheaters. Although, I would love to play some BF3 on PC if my laptop could actually handle it.

I think Microsoft was trying to compete more with Apple than with Sony.. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/microsofts-xbox-launch-raises-questions-apples-mysterious-tv/story?id=19234625#.UZ7bu5ymW-0 Instead of focusing on Apple TV as a rival to their home entertainment long term goals, they should have focused more on their real competitor and built a machine stronger in the one thing (GPU) that is holding all the current gen consoles back.- 13 replies

After doing a comparison of the PS4 and Xbox One’s GPUs, Eurogamer is reporting that the PlayStation 4 possesses 50% more raw power in graphics than the newly revealed Xbox One. Eurogamer went into quite a bit of detail, but for a quick look, I quoted the main part here: Source: Eurogamer Well... I'm fairly certain I'll be getting a PS4 over the new Xbox One now that I've seen this. Click here to view the article

They never said it will be, but I'm assuming thats what the guy is talking about considering their last CoD game was MW3. BTW, check out the image I mocked up for the article on the front page. lol.

In an interview with OPM (Original Playstation Magazine), Infinity Ward’s animation lead Zach Volker went into some details about the new game engine that will be powering the upcoming game "Call of Duty Ghost". Here are a couple quotes from the interview to summarize: Infinity Ward has been significantly upgrading its existing game engine for the past 2 years. While it can be claimed that the end result is a new game engine, it is not a new engine built from the ground up. Which means that Ghost will be running an upgraded game engine that was most likely used in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" Source: Playstation Official Magazine - UK This post has been promoted to an article

As it is right now, I'm leaning more towards the PS4. If PS4 will let me transfer my digitally purchased items from PS3 to play on my PS4, they'll pretty much have me sold at this point. I'm hoping Xbox shows the system's full gaming potential at E3, because its not really standing out over the PS4 at this point IMO. -

I would talk about it, if I watched it... I'll have to d/l it at some point.. seeing as I don't pay for HBO and HBO makes it impossible for everyone to watch their shows: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/game_of_thrones

It looks good and I like the dog. But if this CoD doesn't have game servers, I'll pass on this one for multiplayer gaming. If the campaign gets good reviews, I'll pick it up at some point.

I'm disappointed that the illumiroom wasn't shown. That would have been huge. I think they're going to have to do something like that. Sony and Microsoft need to start competing with steams prices and sales, especially since they'll be moving more towards their own dedicated digital distribution and account owned games. Steam is obviously making enough money that Microsoft wants to emulate their setup and stop used games. But if they don't do the sales, their stance on no used games might come back to kick them in the ass. -

In the more recent Avengers cartoon, Ant-Man was actually quite strong in his mad scientist kind of way. And to see him go giant size and throw massive ships at enemies in a live action movie would be awesome.- 14 replies

The PS4 better look good if its going to sit next to my PS3. lol. If they were smart, the new design will let us stack it on top of our existing PS3s to save space. One of those close ups looked like a speedometer! j/k.
