  1. Good points. This actually reminds me of an article from NPR: http://www.npr.org/2010/11/10/131216486/in-israel-when-is-a-jew-not-jewish-enough In Israel, they don't consider moderate Jews to even be Jewish. Its an interesting read, because all these people that think they are Jewish and contribute money, time and service to their beliefs are considered second hand citizens and not Jewish according to their religious laws. Which more of less throws their cherry picking beliefs back at them because they don't follow every orthodox law. Many people pick and choose what they believe and then call the other people in the news "Religious extremists".. Its not that they are extremists, these are the people that are following their scriptures. Everyone else only believes what they want to regardless of what is actually portrayed in their holy books.

  4. I barely remember much from the previous E3s except for a god of war trailer from the other year. Its hard to believe a game like Bioshock Infinite was shown off at E3 2011 and I didn't even know the game existed until about 6 months ago. Then again, I didn't follow video games as much back in 2011. Even Comic Con is used by game companies to promote their games: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gamehunters/post/2012/07/comic-con-video-game-wrapup/1#.UXnckco3m-0 E3 isn't nearly as big and exclusive as it used to be. If anything tho, I think Nintendo not having a large conference at E3 does hurt its company more than it hurting E3. Nintendo is a large publisher of its own games. E3, just like all the other game shows is great for getting more publicity. Even with social media, Nintendo Direct and independent conferences, I think Nintendo is only shooting itself in the foot by not taking advantage of every possible public event. Even if they are not showing off new hardware, I'd have been more interested if they did a large showing of new games and software, considering they are a large publisher themselves. Nintendo recently set their Miiverse as a complete social network that can be accessed outside of their own console. With that, they could potentially setup facebook styled apis and start getting everyone's individual Miss displayed all over the internet: http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/nintendo-continues-its-slow-online-evolution-by-bringing-miiverse-to-the-web/ You'd think something like that and the potential cross platform (game console / browser / phone apps) would be an interesting subject for a conference and what developers could accomplish with their network's new possibilities.
  5. http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-apple-siri-queries-20130419,0,7117017.story So if they remove identifiers to no longer associate an individual with the questions asked to Siri.. then what about the content of the questions or information shared with Siri? All those peoples names, addresses, etc. are all saved on Apple's systems? "Call so and so", "Give me directions to this persons address", etc., etc. All that info is saved.. wtf.
  6. I couldn't tell those were Dark Elves based off the trailer. It definitely looked like a large scale battle between two different species tho. I hope this movie has no racial undertones to it. That would be horrible.
  7. TMNT Out of the Shadows - Michelangelo Trailer This definitely looks like it will be a good brawler. I wonder if slow motion effects will be a constant part of the game play or if it was only emphasized for this trailer.
  8. The BF3 campaign was not that good. The multiplayer was a lot of fun tho, mostly because I played the hell out of the game with my 2 brothers. Playing solo wasn't nearly as fun as me and my bros running in a squad on a three way phone call while killing the shit out of people. I think thats why I liked BF3 and why I'm looking forward to BF4. Squad play and team work is way better on that game than CoD Black Ops 2. What I'm really looking forward to seeing at E3 this year is more info on Bungie's Destiny game, more next gen games and potential Steam box computers. Square Enix is supposed to show off their new Final Fantasy games, but I have no interest in their MMOs so I hope a new single player RPG besides the FFX remakes will be shown.
  9. Social media is obviously much larger than it has been in previous years. Instead of having to reveal something at a large event like the E3, the companies will get more headlines and attention by making their announcements in self promoted individual events rather than sharing the spot light with their competitors. With Sony and Microsoft announcing their new hardware in their own respective conferences, the E3 is going to have to keep focused on new game titles, developers, new 3rd party hardware platforms, etc. like they usually do for regular non-next gen years. Nintendo has gone in such a different direction of gaming, that I'm not interested in owning any of their products. The fact that they are not going to show off some new nun-chuck or belt buckle accessory that connects to their Wii U is fine with me. It'll clear up more floor space for DICE to show off Battlefield 4.

That was a good short. The super rope reminds me of Time Warner Cable and all their services. This guy was only a couple yards away from being a blood splatter on a cliff.
  11. Interesting, he could have been eluding to something bigger.. either that or he was disgusted that Thor was able to travel across worlds in the same fashion Loki was able to? So, I checked on Marvel's site and found a brief description of the movie: http://marvel.com/movies/movie/182/thor_the_dark_world And Malekith is a dark elf and has previously used the Casket of Ancient Winters in an Avengers cartoon episode: http://marvel.com/universe/Malekith http://marvel.com/news/story/16601/essential_thor_the_casket_of_ancient_winters http://marvel.com/news/story/15911/the_avengers_earths_mightiest_annotations
  12. I need to rewatch the first one. I was a bit drunk when I watched it and barely remember it now.
  13. The show does a time skip almost every episode. They don't acknowledge a time skip, but time has definitely passed. Like in the last episode, Athelstan grabbed his bible and realized he hasn't looked at it in such a long time, the pages were crumbling apart. That right there made me think it must have been a couple years since Lagertha's miscarriage at that point.
  14. I was thinking about this and it looks like it takes place after the Avengers movie. At the end of the trailer Thor is asking Loki for help, and Loki is apparently in a jail cell of some kind. At the end of the first Thor movie, Loki was presumed dead.. but after Avengers Loki was taken back to Asgard as a prisoner. I still don't understand why they never explained how Thor got back to earth in Avengers. Maybe they will cover that plot hole in this movie.

  16. The game is fun GG, but I doubt you'd enjoy playing it. I remember watching you play Battlefield 3 for 10 minutes.. Shooter games don't seem too good for you. Ahh! That was probably a gulanite crystal they used to power up that machine at the arkfall they came across in episode 1.
  17. I don't even care that the plot wasn't explained in the trailer.. this looks badass.
  18. Well, just to bring this topic to a close, I'll update it one more time. The season finale episode was tonight. The show didn't grab my attention enough for me to watch it every week, but I caught all the reruns over the past couple tuesdays and I caught the final fight. Congrats to team Crash. I thought they had it won by round three IMO. Watching the robots fight was entertaining, but there wasn't enough of a fighting variety to bring me back for another season. Battle bots was a great series back in the day because no 2 bots were the same. Sure, these robots were all styled different and had some variation to their bodys and limbs, but the attacks were all the same and started getting a bit repetitive. They all just bash each other with their fists. At least in battle bots you'd have spinning bots, giant blades, flipping bots, etc. They introduced some weapons into some of the fights, but it didn't feel like enough. I would have liked to have seen different weapons used throughout the entire season, but I can understand that these bots are huge, costly and need repair work.. but still, I think they should have gone for more destruction and different attack styles.

  21. I thought the same damn thing. lmao. I thought it was going to be another boring suspense police movie. I didn't even know this was based off a comic book until tonight.
  22. Its on the Starz channel, which is probably why I haven't heard of it. I'll add this to my watch list along with Spartacus.
  23. I like Irisa. Mostly because shes a woman that wants to fight and I love an action series. This last episode might have been to establish the location of old St. Louis, nuclear reactors, etc.. Maybe something major will happen with that location and they needed to make its presence known early in the season. Btw, do you have any idea what they are actually mining in the mine? Are they mining some fuel source? Or do you think they are mining out the old resources from the old city? Theres obviously tons and tons of steel and metal from the old buildings. The preview for the next ep is on youtube:
