Wow that Contra game looks horrible. Gun overheating is the worst feature they could have come up with. The game itself looks like complete crap, but they made it far worse with that overheating mechanic. WTF... Nintendo... $4.99 a month? With all the other microtransactions, I could see a $4.99 one time fee for the 200 cc mode.. but monthly? Damn thats greedy. Aside from the apple and google play games Jim mentioned, a person could also just buy a $1 a week minimum humble bundle or fanatical bundle and get significantly more for their money, entire multiple full games for $5 a month.

That main character looks like Archie from the CW's Riverdale show. Lol. Aside from that the game is looking really good to me.

This movie sucked. The costumes were supposed to be a throwback to the original X-Men costumes from the comic.. maybe as some way to try to reference back to the beginning of the franchise at the end. Most good movies or books generally reference the beginning at the end some how for closure, but the costumes looked like cheap crap especially since they showed the correct good costumes at the very end of the Apocalypse movie. Aside from that the acting wasn't good, the CG is some parts looks noticeably cheap and the plot was once again absolutely nothing like the Dark Phoenix plot from the comics. But there were some aliens... but they left their ships somewhere out in the woods and we never got to see them.. I'm glad Fox is done with this. They should have let Apocalypse be the last movie. Marvel will do a far better job with this franchise.

I watched this movie last weekend. Holy shit that was awesome. That is hands down some of the best fight choreography I've seen since Into the Badlands, but its way more believable that Into the Badlands fights because it literally looks like real fighting, stabbing, knife throwing, etc. That knife fight alone was worth the price of the movie. So many knives. lol.

I'm going to pass on this. It doesn't look anything like a portrayal of Joker from the comics (is this supposed to be Joker from the comics? or just some guy that goes a bit nuts and emulates Joker from the comics?) from what I've seen in the trailers. Its another one of those movies made just to win awards and most of those I generally hard pass on. But what does seem odd to me is that Joker was already established in Suicide Squad and they're making a Suicide Squad 2 which I thought Joker was going to show up in again.. but in the meantime theres this entirely different Joker. Ok... I see DC stopped caring about an actual single DC movie universe after Justice League came and went.

I never pre-order or buy games on launch anymore, but this will be the exception. I need this game. And I'm glad its not getting some bullshit "oh its really for PS5 now exclusively" because I don't know when I'll buy a PS5, but I wont be buying that at launch. BTW, Last of Us is free with PS+ next month. If you haven't played it yet, I highly highly recommend it. If you do play it, one bit of advice, clickers will always one hit instant kill unless you have a shiv or shoot it from distance. Melee or try to strangle one of those and you will always die. Took me a while to figure that out. x_x You can technically stealth the entire game or go hard core guns blazing if you have the ammo.

Now I understand why the last Lord of the Rings movie had such a long endless ending.. I'm halfway through the last book, the ring is already destroyed, the war is won and everyone is celebrating at the castle.. theres still like 300 pages left. wtf.
and one of the biggest differences from the book and the movie was the last stretch of Frodo and Sam's journey. In the movie, they fought Shelob the spider and after Sam killed a couple Orcs and saved Frodo, they took some more paths and were at the the lava in Mt Doom.. in the book, Sam had to infiltrate a massive Orc base, most of the Orcs killed each other in an argument, save Frodo.. and then had to actually go to Mt Doom still because that was only the first mountain. wtf. They had an extra week of traveling through enemy controlled land, sneak past multiple Orc bases and encampments, dress up as orcs and had to blend in with an Orc march to get over a bridge, get to Mount Doom, climb it.. lmao. the movie could have been so much longer.

Honestly these books were way too long for movies. It was made too early. With HBO and Netflix these days, this would have been an amazing 5-7 season series easily. Digesting all of it an hour at a time would have made it more enjoyable and manageable.

You mean so much better
Yea the end of RotK kinda drags on for quite awhile with a lot of little things that weren't exactly necessary to get the story across (but remember, Tolkien was a world builder before a storyteller and he built one hell of a world).
God what I wouldn't give for a literal book to TV series adaptation of Lord of the Rings (preferably HBO, Netflix does good stuff but I think HBO would do it much more justice). The movies were a little too condensed for my tastes and honestly not as enjoyable as a TV series would be.

I got to play the beta for 2 hours yesterday. It honestly felt like every other call of duty game to me again except with different maps. Except it felt like ADS was incredibly slow. I had a couple decent rounds, but for the most part I felt like I was just getting farmed constantly. I never liked Killstreaks. I think they are pointless and just give a good player an overwhelming advantage. Its one thing if a player was already an expert and can go 20-5 every round, but add killstreaks to that and that same person will be in a jet raining down death on everyone the moment they spawn and that happened repeatedly. I'm sure that person is having a blast, but I don't find it enjoyable or even remotely balanced, but thats what every call of duty game is, always has been and always will be. eh, its not my cup of tea. Oh, and yeah these maps are small but god the spawning was horrible. I'd get shot in the back so often because I'd spawn almost in front of enemies that I got used to immediately turning around after spawning to rush into somebody. The only time I knew I had a safe spawn is by looking at the mini map and seeing 1 or 2 other teammates spawning right next to me. By the end of my 2 hours I was mostly having a k/d of 1.0 and I got over rank 5 to get customizable loadouts, etc. The game is decent for what it is but its not something I'll rush out to buy. Like Battlefield 1 & V, I'm guessing I'd have a more enjoyable experience if I was playing with actual teammates I was talking to and coordinating with instead of some randoms that have static mics crackling over my audio (I had to mute mics after the 4th round, it was just people being profane or making noise for the hell of making noise). I will say tho, domination mode felt extremely similar to BF's domination and that game mode was the most fun I had out of the beta.

Upgraded the forums today. The gallery should be working better for uploads. And we have a new our picks section at the top of the home page and bottom of the forums page (I might move these around still, haven't decided yet). Any topic, post, blog entry, gallery, gallery image, etc. can be "promoted" by an admin to appear on these pages. And when I get around to setting up the facebook and twitter accounts for the site to connect to it, these promoted items will be auto posted to those social platforms. Also, I'll be moving the site to a different hosting provider in the next couple weeks or months. Hopefully we don't run into any issues.

I think I found a new web host. If all goes well I'll transfer AC over to it sometime this month. It might have slower page loads but it'll save me money and some time since I wont have to do server maintenance / troubleshooting anymore.

And the first ceiling fan I put up is making a noise.
I'm going to have to take it back down and adjust the damn steel mounting bracket. x_x When I did the second fan I realized I could get my phone at just the right angle to see exactly where I was mounting the damn thing. I'll have to do that for the first fan now. That'll take multiple hours this weekend. x_x

Ah.. thats the kind of thing that I hate. Since I'm such a casual player this wouldn't be fun for me at all. Within the first day or two everyone will marathon the game to level 12, get the ghost perk.. but me. I'd end up being under level 12 for months and I'd get farmed repeatedly. x_x I'll definitely try out the beta if I get the time this weekend. I'm about to set it to download now.

I watched that video.. that guy is guaranteed to f*ck up battlefield. I just don't know wtf DICE was thinking after BF4. BF4 had its issues, but it was solid. Vehicle combat was the best ever for the entire series and gunplay felt great.

I installed a complicated ceiling fan yesterday. The light fixture was cheap and held in place by the ceiling drywall. I had to take it out, cut a larger hole in the ceiling, install a ceiling fan support brace and electric box.. But the real bitch was there were 4 electric lines running to this light fixture as a full junction box. I had to cut and strip 12 stiff as hell wires, and run an additional 3 wires to the ceiling fan. Also stuff all the insulation back into the ceiling while gagging on the particulates of it all in the air.. and jam all those wires into the small ass box. In the end it all worked out. Took me 6 hours. wtf. The other ceiling fans I've done for Lady's mom took me around 2 1/2 hours. 6 hours was a pain. I'll have to do it again for my office room. Same thing, 4 sets of wires, ceiling fan bracket, etc. I bet I could trim 1 hour off that 6 hours tho now that I wont have to stop to search for random answers to things again.

Got my other ceiling fan installed yesterday. Took me even longer than the first one. Wtf. 7 hours to install this. I'm pleased with the end result.

I didn't get the chance to try the 2v2 alpha with my brother but he did say he enjoyed it alot. How was it with no mini map? Did you get used to it quick? I have hardly played BFV at all over the last year, like maybe a handful of conquest games, not just because of lack of time (thats alot to do with it tho), but because of the spotting and mini map changes. I can't find a damn person in it. Maybe because the maps are so huge but without spotting or having enemies lit up on a mini map I really lost interest in the game. Maybe with CoD it'll be easier to engage enemies with the maps being significantly smaller than BFV conquest. These FPS modern combat style games are all going for realism while I want a more non realistic experience. Eventually with graphics improving every day eventually these games will have to draw a line for true realism.. imagine battlefield and call of duty graphics so good it literally looks like you are killing real people. I'd rather the games keep some realism out while still providing great gameplay, gun mechanics, physics, etc. But god I miss shooting towards red doritos on battlefield.

Looks like Sony is stepping up the quality of Plus games. Both of these look enjoyable, but I still haven't played the other games in their series. lol. The most I've played of Darksiders 1 was getting to the first boss.

Windows 10 August 2019 update has wrecked my PC. wtf. Random reboots and freezing. It did it a few times over the last week, but yesterday it froze and rebooted 12 times. I had to do a system restore to a week ago, but it didn't uninstall the update. Its already froze once this morning. My laptop isn't having this issue.. just my main PC. The last big windows update did the same garbage but not as bad. I swear my PC finally gets stable just in time for another massive windows update to f*ck it all over again.

Last time it was blue screen of death, now I don't even get that so I have no idea what to possibly troubleshoot. Just random freezing and spontaneous rebooting. what the god damn fuck windows.

No problems here other than being an inconvenience when I'm trying to play FFXIV.
Although the last update jacked up my video card settings and made my screen resolution 800x400 or something real windows 95.

I really like that these series are supposed to be limited run.. as far as I know. I'm hyped for the Obi-Wan series. All I want is some solid story telling, great acting and a plot that begins and ends. I'm sick of american tv just endlessly running series with no end in sight and getting abruptly canceled with no ending. Even netflix is doing it. I'd have liked an ending to Santa Clarita Diet.. instead canceled on a cliff hanger. I'd have like and end to Dark Matter on the Syfy channel.. nope, abruptly canceled. Z-Nation was canceled, but at least that last season ended with a potential tie in to another season instead of some massive plot line... And it did end decent with the formation of New America. At least some of the shows I have liked for years are getting actual endings. Supernatural, Killjoys and Arrow are all getting actual endings. The best thing Disney can do with their series is let them run their course and try not to milk every project for years upon years until everyone is burned out. With all the material they have to work with just with star wars alone they could make hundreds of mini series like the Mandalorian or Obi-Wan and it'd probably always seem fresh to me. Hell, they could make a new series like Firefly with smugglers and not even have jedi in it and I would watch it because its based in the star wars universe with it's tech and lore, etc.

This movie was so much fun. Finally a godzilla movie that focused on monster battles. I'm wondering what they're going to do with a sequel.. Years ago the Legendary/WB rebooted the MonsterVerse and was going to tie a bunch of movies together like Avengers did. It included franchises like Dracula, Mummy, Godzilla, King Kong, etc. but the only tie in we see is King Kong getting referenced in this Godzilla movie. Supposedly the next movie coming out will be Godzilla vs Kong. Now I mention the other movies because I don't know if it was intentional or not, but that old white guy with the private army in Godzilla was the same actor that played the evil vampire in the Dracula movie.. and at the end of that Dracula movie it skipped to present day and showed that guy and Dracula still alive. Maybe it was just a coincidence and they like that actor? Or maybe he was playing his vampire character but they didn't reference him as such. It would explain how this random guy has his own personal army, why he's in a position of power.. why he doesn't care if a bulk of the human race is wiped out or not because hes immortal. Although it would have been very odd for everyone who didn't see the Dracula movie to have this guy referenced as a vampire in this Godzilla movie. I bet it would have made no sense to alot of people.

Disney + is going to be good. With the Marvel and Star Wars series, I'll need to watch them all. Mandalorian looks great.. I see they didn't show the person with the helmit off. I'm calling it now.. its a woman and when its revealed we'll get a new Quarting video.. "Disney got WOKE and now they'll go BROKE! Mandalorian fail!" joking aside I'm looking forward to all the new star wars content.
