  1. I was hoping this game was going to be like a remake of the nintendo classic Rampage with all these big name monsters. But instead it looks like a survival game version of the movie Cloverfield. Could be fun if it ever comes over to the US.
  2. Thanks for the tips guys. I re-rolled a soldier and I don't regret it. Aiming an assault rifle with this guy with iron sights is more accurate than the damn sniper rifle sway. I didn't care for how sniping is handled in this game. The sway and 2 shot limit before over heating is too much of a burden for it to be my primary weapon outside of a pistol. The soldier class can use a sniper rifle when I feel like sniping anyway. Using an assault rifle is way more fun as my primary than running with a pistol constantly.
  3. I started playing Mass Effect 1 this weekend. Since this game is so old, I will be using this topic to post updates on my progress of the game with spoilers as I come across them (new content for me, old for everyone else. ). Please don't spoil anything for me please. I just learned that mass effect is actually a means of FTL travel. I had no idea. I just figured it was a catchy scifi name for the series. I'm just past the initial mission and at the citadel right now. Saved the game right when I got there and haven't had the time to explore yet. I have some questions for all the Mass Effect vets here.. 1) Should I be actively equipping any and all gear to my squad mates as I come across stuff? I equipped a pistol on this one guy after I got it out of a crate, then he turned around to investigate something, then got shot and killed in a cutscene.. that pistol is now gone. x_x That was a cutscene death tho, what about my other squadmates? If they die is it permadeath too? I'll loose whatever upgrades they had equipped? 2) Should I be micromanaging combat like KOTOR 1? I know this game is made by the same dev and it really feels alot like a mixture of KOTOR's interface with more active combat. I was just treating it like an FPS, but then I realized the combat can be paused whenever with the space bar so I can order my squad to do things or use powers. 3) I picked infiltrator (i think thats what it was) because it has a sniper proficiency. I love sniping so it made sense for me to take this class. Its fun to kill people from a distance but I definitely miss not being able to hold breath to steady a shot. For anyone that knows, is infiltrator good in the late stages of the game or should I re-roll and go with something different since I'm not that far in? 4) Interact is the E button and using medi-gel packs is F.. Guild Wars 2 has conditioned me so much I keep using health packs at every damn container I try to open. x_x Should I save my health packs as much as possible or do they drop enough that I shouldn't be stingy with them? 5) Should I save my grenades for big enemies or throw them around as often as I want like in Uncharted? Do squad mates have grenades? or is it just me. I went into the space bar UI and didn't see any grenade options for my squadmates. Is that because they didn't have grenades at that time?
  4. I don't think I've ever seen Supernova. Thats probably a good thing. Red Planet was decent, but it was more of a syfy channel movie with a high budget. The movie with the most inaccurate trailer ever was "Lady in the Water". I watched that movie expecting to see some monster / thriller movie because of a 2 minute trailer showing some weird crap and a passageway to some underground world.. the actual movie was nothing like that trailer and it was a family movie that could have been rated G. Thanks alot M night shyamalan. After he made that horrible Avatar the last airbender movie (it was so bad, his main character had his name pronounced wrong the entire movie) I refused to watch another movie made by him.
  5. That Wing Commander movie was so far off from the games. lol. Still wasn't as bad as Super Mario Brothers tho.
  6. Good points about the heavy metal poisoning. I don't see how adamantium could deteriorate like that at all now that you mention it.
  7. Finally got around to watching this.. So I'm guessing this movie takes place in an "alternate universe" based on this article I was reading: https://www.bustle.com/p/how-long-after-days-of-future-past-is-logan-set-the-x-men-movie-timeline-is-so-complicated-40132 The action was great, but the plot annoyed me. All the mutants are gone with no real explanation, Xavier is now everyone's grandfather with some dementia and Logan is dying of heavy metal poisoning.
  8. Awesome. I haven't watched a good vampire anime in a long time. Hmm, I guess this wouldn't qualify as an anime, but an animated series. The US needs a new term for adult based cartoons / animated series. Calling everything an "Animated Film" or "Animated Series" to avoid the term "cartoon" seems a bit off to me now.
  9. At least it should have a good launch when it gets released since they'll have all this extra time to polish it up.

  11. After watching all these videos I'm even more under the impression that this game really is Destiny 1.5. Sure people will say "its a sequel, of course it'll look similar!" Yeah, well Uncharted 1-4 all look similar but each was a noticeable improvement graphically and combat wise, same with the entire God of War series. But Destiny 2 looks exactly like Destiny 1 in every gameplay video I've seen, except it has new maps and subclasses like the taken king DLC had. This reminds me of Battlefield Hardline. Everyone said its should have been a DLC for BF4 because its was basically BF4 with a reskin and new maps, which it kind of was. Just like Hardline didn't do amazing, I doubt Destiny 2 will be a gigantic hit either. I loved sniping in Destiny 1, but now its a heavy weapon with only 5 bullets per ammo pick up.. ehh. Warlock looks like the best class now. I liked playing the hunter class and using the golden gun.. but it looks nerfed in these videos. Bladedancer was replaced with a melee staff but looks like it does the same thing. And it looks like hunter is still maxed out at 2-3 jumps while the other classes still get really decent air coverage with their jumps. If I was ever to play Destiny 1/2 again I'll never bother using the hunter class again. It always felt gimped by having crap jumping while the other classes never missed a single ledge.
  12. Fairy Tail is officially ending. Only 10 chapters left. This writer turned this series into garbage plot lines. :windows: I'm genuinely pissed at this manga now. Not because favorite characters are being killed off like most manga/animes do at the end.. Not that any main characters at this point are in any real threat of dying since every character seems to be immortal. Being mad like that would be a good thing since it means I feel for the characters and the overall plot.. But instead I'm mad because the writer threw so many random plot lines into the story over the last year that its become laughable like a bad soap opera. All long term plot lines are pretty much negated and last minute characters and plot lines now resolve everything.. something that was just revealed 10 chapters ago now solves half the danger to the planet that has been build up as an ultimate power throughout the last 400 chapters. wtf.

I'll compare this to DBZ. Imagine all that build up how powerful Freeza was.. but then right before Goku is going to fight him, Krillin found some magic orb and then Bulma kicked it at Freeza and killed him. No big fight with Goku, no planet namek getting destroyed.. hell, Goku never even met Freeza. Thats the equivalent of what just happened. WTF.

WTF.. another chapter another horrible plot twist. Once again a major character that died is actually alive again.. and another major enemy was just defeated with the emotion of love. :shake:

Sounds like it has as much depth as Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo :P

lol. I'm surprised there are still 9 chapters left. Unless some enemy comes back to life to do another fight (this would not surprise me at all), then these last 9 chapters are all basically going to be an epilogue since there are no enemies left to fight.

  13. I've been watching season 2 off and on for the last week and finally watched the rest of the episodes yesterday in the big marathon leading up to the season finale. This show is great. I love the action and fight choreography. The Widow is my favorite character because she kills the most people and is fighting to end slavery. That and I love strong women in shows and movies. When the widow handed over Veil it really surprised me. As much as she helps women whenever she can that was a death sentence handing her over to Quinn. I'd have liked to learn more about the gift, maybe we'll get some more info on that in the next season. I thought Bajie was just some opportunistic ass that was tagging along with Sunny, but then he has this back story that completely ties him into the plot. I liked that plot twist. The widow had the gift before too when she was younger. I hope they explain the gift with a bit more detail. At first I thought Azra must have been the homeland of all the black eyed people and somehow Sunny was from there too but never got his powers.. but then all the monks showed up, captured MK and they live in a monastery outside of the badlands. At first I thought that was Azra.. but that place had nothing to do with it. I'm wondering if Azra really is the place where all the gifted people come from or not. If they do, then why in the hell do so many of them end up scattered all over the place? Maybe the place is some horrible location and parents are shipping their kids off to a better life elsewhere? But that doesn't make sense since they'd be knowingly sending off potential untrained, uncontrollable murderers all over the place. The satellite room at the end of the episode. The book and compass lead him there and a signal was sent. Huh... I wish they'd have given a little more of a hint as to what the next season would bring.
  14. I don't understand how future sequels would connect with the "Avatar" name. Unless humans are coming back to wage more war against the Navi using "avatars", there are no more avatars on the planet/moon. Since whatshisface transferred himself into his avatar, its now him and no longer considered an avatar. If its a movie about a bunch of blue aliens communing with nature with a bunch of fancy 3D IMAX effects, I don't think it would be nearly as popular as the original film.
  15. I watched the reveal live yesterday. I agree with Strider that it looks like Destiny 1 with a facelift. The mechanics all look the same, the art style is the same. But still no ambient life on any of the maps, no sign of npcs outside of the 1 town/base. There might be some npcs out on the maps to trigger adventures but I'm guessing they'll be stationary npcs that give out missions and we won't see rpg style missions like escorting npcs. There was no mention about how long the actual campaign will take to complete. Dropping crucible from 6 vs 6 to 4 vs 4 doesn't sound appealing to me. The first thing I thought when I saw that was that they wanted to reduce queue times for matches. The control game mode of 3 control points seems pointless with 4 vs 4. It would result in entire teams zerging around the map or alot of 1 vs 1 encounters usually with 1 person camping spots to instant kill the person trying to decap the point. The only things that interest me for Destiny 2 is the campaign and the adventures. Those could be fun to play if the content is long enough and engaging. But if Destiny 2 takes the same approach as Destiny 1 with endless grinding for the best gear after every new DLC comes out, I won't be interested in that or raids at all. I hardly play BF1 as it is because it feels like the same matches over and over again with no rewards. Destiny 1 was great about giving out some random loot while playing the same content over and over and it kept me engaged for a long time because of the loots. But I doubt Bungie could hook me like that again considering all those shinies became worthless the moment a new DLC comes out. When previous rewards are negated like they were in Destiny 1 it makes the entire rng reward thrill turn to disappointment and disgust. I'll always remember buying gjallarhorn those couple days before it was completely left behind as a "gen 1 version". That was the last day I played Destiny 1.
  16. I did a minor upgrade to the site today, but a couple of themes are not running the most recent build so there might be a few issues with the text editors or some links not displaying everything 100% properly. If anyone notice any discrepancies, let me know.

Guests can now view sigantures. I'll fully update the themes sometime this weekend.

  17. At least the cg looks good and there could be decent action. That woman is type cast as Sasha to me at this point tho. Like if they had the guy that played Glenn on the crew I'd never associate him as any other character at this point either.
  18. GW2 had a balance patch yesterday and my necro had 2 specific skills changed. Epidemic got nerfed, and plague form got turned into plaguelands. I tried them both out last night. In a small mob of enemies epi looks like it works about the same, but I need to test it out more thoroughly. I haven't used the plague form in over a year, but when I did use it, it was for pvp and wvw because it gave stability and basically guaranteed an un-interrupted enemy stomp. Now it is a completely different skill that makes a small aoe field that pulses massive conditions. When I used it on a mob, that mob melted faster than anything. Holy crap. But even with my traits set to reduce cool down on corruption skills, I can only use this skill every 80 seconds. This skill is only useful against large zergs of strong enemies and bosses. This skill was designed specifically for raid bosses imo. Its aoe is too small and the cool down too high for normal pve. I'd rather keep flesh golem on for the cc against champs and legendary enemies. Sure plaguelands can pump out the damage, but the utility of flesh golem cc is too good to give up for me.

  19. It feels like I've had constant appointments for the last month that keep eating into all my free time. Even this week I have at least 3 places to go during work hours causing me to make up time during my free time. x_x Tomorrow I need to go back to the tire shop. I got my summer tires mounted and balanced on thursday and by late saturday afternoon I'm getting a helicopter kind of air sound from my front left tire. "whoosh whoosh whoosh". I thought I had a bearing going, but I got my breaker bar out and sure enough the lug nuts weren't tight. wtf. First time I've ever had this tire place screw up a mounting before and I've been going to them for over 14 years. I tightened them up but I'm still getting a bit of sound while driving. I don't feel like hauling my 3 ton jack out of my basement so I"ll go back there tomorrow. I'm pretty certain they're going to have to lift the car and re-center the tire.

I might end up moving this summer so most of my weekend free time for the past month and a half has been eaten up by constant spring cleaning of my basement and sheds and then putting in 2+ hours of work on the weekends to make up for some appointments during the week. 1 or 2 more weekends and I should be done. x_x

Speaking of that jp, I left my warrior there and when I do my daily login I've been opening that chest every day since you ported him there. XD

Went back to the tire place. Turns out one of the back plates got loose and was hitting a rotor causing noise. The other part of the noise was one of my caliper pins/sides in the front left seized up and caused uneven wear on my rotor which warped it. I needed new brakes and got that done today. Spent $350 on it.  :bleedout: It needed the brakes tho and I'm surprised it passed yearly inspection with them in that condition considering to fully stop the car I'd have to push the brake pedal down past the gas pedal and almost touch the floor. This car runs like new now that I dropped $1400 on it over this past month. My gas mileage is even much better. I was averaging 26 mpg, and now its getting 36 mpg.

  20. What an odd trailer. No dialogue and just a bunch of random clips thrown together. Guess they didn't want to give anything away.
  21. Hmm.. a bunch of the people responsible for making Mass Effect Andromeda got transferred over to Star Wars Battlefront II development. Everyone should keep that in mind before they decide to pre-order.
  22. I got my new 1 tb external hard drive in the mail today. I have enough free space that I can now save more than 1 or 2 video clips of my games at a time without having to delete something. That was so annoying. x_x

Lol. I kept burning everything onto DVD-Rs for years, but now I have a massive case of dvds and its no longer feasible to burn things onto disk when I can buy a hard drive like the one I just got. Its smaller than my wallet and holds as much data as my entire case of dvdrs. I ran out of room to store things years ago which co-insides with when I stopped downloading everything. Sounds like we both horde too much digital stuff. XD

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

XD Sad thing is half of that is just anime and the sadder thing is I haven't watched half of the anime either (which is why I'm glad I got a CR sub, I'm whittling that down slowly now) . Oh I'm not even mentioning the stacks of DVD-R's and CD-R's I have with shit burned on them to help conserve space. I really do have a problem, maybe I should apply to be on that Hoarder's show (I wonder if they consider digital hording to be hording XD).

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Digital hording is horrible for me. You should see my inventory on my guild wars 1 & 2 characters and every final fantasy game I've ever played. XD

  23. I was under the impression that these movies have been getting filmed for about 3-4 years already.. and they'd start releasing a new Avatar movie once a year. But they're still casting roles!? Wow. At this rate I won't even expect Avatar 2 to come out in 2020. Also, I haven't seen this actor in much besides Fear the Walking Dead. While hes probably the best actor in that show (thats not saying much honestly), I don't see him doing well as a lead in a major movie franchise like this. Source: https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/9/15594872/fear-the-walking-dead-avatar
  24. I haven't watched the original Blade Runner in years but a sequel sounds good. I haven't been paying attention to the production of this, I either forgot or had no idea Harrison Ford was in it.
