The Walking Dead Season 7 Discussion (Spoilers)
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
The Glenn moment caught me by surprise. I think everyone assumed two people were going to die and I thought it'd be Maggie and Glenn. Abraham will be missed but losing him from the show isn't as significant as losing Glenn. Glenn survived so many near death moments in the just the last season that there was no longer a sense of danger for him. It's the same for Daryl tho. Making Daryl be the reason for the second death might take a chunk out of the fan base that keeps giving his character immunity from death. That Glenn scene was so damn visual.. by fully showing the aftermath of that first hit it really sinks in how brutal Negan is and how much worse he is than the governor. On a side note, this probably makes me a horrible person but I kinda chuckled a bit at seeing Glenn's face because it reminded me of the end scene of the original total recall movie. I suppose that reaction was a subconscious coping mechanization on my part. All I could think of was Arnold Schwarzenegger's face exploding outward while screaming. -
Holy crap that range.

Great kill streak with the Mondragon! Even with that cool down that dreadnought is insanely OP just from watching your video. Every shot is a guaranteed minimum 1 kill and the AOE is huge. And wtf... pause it at 1:46 and look at the mini map, you destroyed an enemy bomber and got a triple kill because it was flying directly above the dreadnought. I bet those 3 people were pissed.

Nintendo Switch (Nintendo NX = Portable Console)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
I read this article this morning and the switch definitely looks like it copied the portable design aspect from this China console that came out over a year ago. http://kotaku.com/china-already-has-a-handheld-like-the-nintendo-switch-178805608- 100 replies

Here's my clip from yesterday. That mortar is great.
-
I got a couple rounds of operations in with DX earlier and that game mode is definitely better than rush. If rush still has those annoying ass bell/whistle sounds from the beta I doubt I'll ever play it when I have this as an option. The default scout rifle is incredibly accurate and sniping has never been easier. I think the bullet drop might have been tweaked a bit because fall off does seem to happen faster imo. Still absolutely nothing like BF4 or BF3's bullet drop, so it'll take a while to get used to. I did get back on to play a round of operations with my brother after watching an episode of z-nation and played mostly support. That default machine gun is decent but the mortar is the real damage dealer. I got a good chunk of mortar kills and I love the reload rate on it, but I bet it'll be nerfed since its easy to just sit back and endless spam them. I took a couple clips tonight and I'll make a quick video in the morning to upload. The medic class is amazing now with revives. I don't know how many times I revived others or have been revived but they completely fixed the revive aspect of this game from the beta. Its a night and day difference. Theres no cool down on the revive needle and I know I revived 5 people in less than a minute. Since they all revive at full health, a few good medics on a team can easily make a huge difference.. and that DMR is great but feels a bit lacking at medium range for me. The default assault gun lost alot of its stopping power, the anti tank grenades are vital to taking out tanks but unless I see armor on the field I'm not feeling the urge to play the class. Maybe a new assault rifle will change my opinion on it. I sucked horribly in the behemoth / zeppelin / airship. I first got in the tail gun which has almost no line of sight to the ground, and its only powerful against aircraft if the aircraft is a short distance away. I got onto one of the side guns and I had some aiming issues. Because the airship is so much lower to the ground than the AC 130 from BF4, enemies on the ground can easily cover some distance and get out of your targetable area.. of course the other guns can then take them out, but I was often left with nothing to actually shoot at. For that I blame the guy that drove the airship. He literally kept parking it directly above the flags and then rotated which only benefits the bomber seats because nobody else could stay focused on any choke points.

Looks like EA / PSN are having issues right now with BF1 according to it's reddit sub. I'm glad I didn't schedule the day off just to play this. I'm going to expect a DDOS attack at some point today too.
-
PSN is working for me, just MP is down. It's amazing how these fuckers are going to ruin every major launch just because they can. I hope they all get a terminal disease and die a slow horrible death. They deserve that much for being so petty and childish.
-
I'm glad the MP came back online so I could get some rounds in. Damn operations is fun.
-
I'm looking forward to more. I wonder if the free dlc will have a new one with just 1 map or perhaps it can jut into an old map. Either way premium is worth it to me for Operations. That last one we played was almost on the verge of going to Amiens.

Nintendo Switch (Nintendo NX = Portable Console)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
After thinking it over more, I'm also interested in this console. The Wii and Wii U were something I'd never want due to the controls and no 3rd party games. With my ulnar nerve issues I could never enjoy motion controllers. That and my dogs screw over my game play as it is. I played Journey for PS4 last weekend and while it was enjoyable it had one major flaw to me... controller position camera that I couldn't turn off. I could control the camera with the R stick, but every time my puppy got up on my lap, the screen turned into a mess of staring straight up into the sky. I could never play a Wii or Wii U with my dogs. The Switch being capable of playing (I'm assuming the remastered) Skyrim shows it has power, and I didn't see anyone in the trailer wearing straps on their wrists with the controllers which means no motion control. All positives to me. Everyone will use the portable aspect of the console to play games while taking a dump which means used versions of these at gamestops will have horrible bacteria levels. If Nintendo made a non portable / slim version at a cheaper price I'd buy one to finally play Mario and Zelda games again. I'm not all too interested in the portable aspect because of all the rechargable batteries involved. In the trailer each half of the switch controller can be used wirelessly, the middle part of the switch controller is also wireless (probably doesn't need a battery in that considering the lights on it turn off once the controllers are removed) the tablet part is wireless and the other plain controller is wireless. Thats 4 separate things that need charging and I'm annoyed as it is with having to charge my PS4 controller. All I really want is the Switch console with no tablet screen and the plain controller. Wireless Skyrim seems amazing, but I wonder what kind of battery life that tablet screen will have when playing it and how hot it will actually get. Then again, Nintendo could reveal some other new features of this that could get my hyped. The portable aspect could be good for me if there are alot of rpg style games like skyrim or final fantasy that I could play while reclining back on my sofa while lady can watch tv in the same room.- 100 replies

Nintendo Switch (Nintendo NX = Portable Console)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
The console part of it looks fine, removing it to be portable looks good, but putting a little kick stand up and having your friends huddle around a 7 inch tv to play a game on a couple roku stick controllers while smelling each others breath doesn't look enjoyable to me.- 100 replies

That melee counter was fun at first but it ruined meleeing for me in BF4. I got used to not meleeing someone in anticipation of doing the counter to kill them instead. Once I played the BF1 beta I didn't have that reaction so it felt much smoother. I haven't deleted BF4 off my PS4 yet so I can try and match my settings from it. How long did it take to get the mortar unlocked? Or was it unlocked by default?

ROTFLMAO! What a horrible image of Mario. You're right about the Psycho reference. At first I thought he was peeking out of the shower, but the bathroom is behind him. I'd say Mario is a perv but when I zoomed in on the pic and looked at the gloves, I realized thats a guy in a mario costume with a plastic head on.. that screams Psycho to me.- 100 replies

Great kills there. What melee weapon was that!? It was so quick it looked like you were shiving the guy repeatedly. So many squad wipes. I read a little while ago on vg247 that might explain it tho. Its an issue me and my brother ran into during the beta that never got fixed. When you join a friend in a game it locks the squad so a bunch of people are running with 2 or 3 man squads so squad wipes should be happening alot more frequently. I remember it was annoying because we would have to exit the squad to get into a full one. I don't know why its set to lock the squad like this, I don't know anyone that would want less spawn choices. http://www.vg247.com/2016/10/19/battlefield-1-this-is-why-youre-seeing-too-many-locked-squads/ That SMLE action was awesome. Have you run into any ace pilots picking off infantry left and right?

I really liked the tank mission on BF4's campaign. But it was an OP variant too. The jet mission in BF4 was good but made me not like jets as much in the multiplayer because a good chunk of that mission was in a second jet seat for bombing runs which didn't exist in the multiplayer. That mission is what made me want 2 seater planes in the multiplayer but it never happened until BF1. I bought the digital version on PSN, I'll set it to pre-load later tonight so I can jump into the action on friday.
-
I'm really surprised the entire PSN network didn't go down with a DDOS attack. I bet that'll happen friday instead. That gas mask will aggravate the hell out of me. I'll have to run gas grenades all the time to justify my accidental usage of a gas mask. I pre ordered the game off amazon last night to save about $10 with my premium discount, but it says I wont get the game until 10/26/2016. I'm assuming thats not right and I'll have it by friday.

New wallpapers are up. I got burned out on seeing that division wallpaper. lol. I'll start swapping these out more often.

I know I'll like that gun. Back in BF3 I used the M98B with no scope for tdm matches and had a great time. I swear the aim assist would screw with me tho by favoring bodies and would pull my shots down denying me a head shot. There were a couple times in the bf1 beta that robbed me of a couple kills for the same thing but with sweet spots giving kills with 1 hit to the body it could work out quite nicely.
-
The most unrealistic thing about this gun is the equipping animation. For comparison, I think everyone can throw a stick of gum from their left hand to the right and catch it. But how about catching it with only a single finger and a thumb while running. I don't think so. Day 1 assignment: "Get 100 kills with the Korlibri to unlock BAR extended mag" People will go insane with rage trying to get it done.
-
Ohhhh... I'm hyped now. AT gun unlocked by default, no charge on the revive. The skin system looks great and I love how DICE got inspired by Overwatch and made their battlepack opening animation look more like a huge reward.

Lol. Cool. And yep I agree about the oil changes. Before and after winter is best. Front wheel drive is always better for winter imo. When I had rear wheel drive I'd put a couple 20 pound bags of the cheapest cat litter in the trunk for the extra weight for traction. Front wheel drive gets all the weight it needs from the engine but I always felt like rear wheel drive had a little better traction with extra weight in the back. I remember reading that insurance covers glass for such a small cost and usually no deductible because it's cheaper for them in the long term. If someone gets into an accident and the windshield is already cracked there's a higher chance of it breaking worse and causing more damage to passengers, thus higher medical bills they have to pay for. That and the other insurance company can use it as an excuse to make your insurance company pay for all damages because your driving could be considered impaired because of line of sight issues with the glass. Or some crap like that. When the temp outside starts changing expect that crack to spread. Mine did on my Saturn years ago. It was a small little nick that turned into a massive spiderweb. It started getting bigger over a month and one day lady drove somewhere, went inside a building, came back out and boom spiderweb.

I hope they don't nerf the mortar like they did in bf4. Last time I tried that mortar it doesn't spawn with any ammo and it regenerates rounds about once a minute. I think ppl were spawning with it and UCAV, killing 5 ppl, suicide and respawn to instant reload and repeat. Now UCAV takes a solid 90 seconds to give you a single shot and mortar takes so long to build up ammo you have to drop it somewhere, go ptfo, hopefully not die by the time you have ammo to actually use and then get to a safe spot to use it. If bf1's mortar spawns with full ammo I bet it'll be nerfed once entire squads run it and bombard an entire team's spawn point to death.
-
Very nice ride. your insurance might cover the windshield for free if you have glass coverage. For my insurance plan it's only an extra $40 a year if I remember right and there's no deductible for glass. I made the claim and they set the payment up with safelite, I called them and they came out to my house to replace it real quick. I think 2011 is when the majority of the car manufacturers switched to full synthetic oils. Since yours is 2010 like mine your owner manual might say to get an oil change every 5 months or 5k miles but I recommend full synthetic oil changes only. You'll only need oil changes every 10k miles or once every 6 months. Remember when oil changes were every 3 months? Lol. I've been getting oil changes only twice a year for the last 6 years now.

I love how they implemented the mortar. That airburst looks way OP.
