  2. I followed the directions in this video and what an improvement! This was way easier than manually installing reshade and sweetfx and then fine tuning the effects I'd want. Instead it took me about 5 mins and everything looks amazing. Here are some before and after shots. Click on an image to open it in the lightbox image viewer, then hit the left and right arrows on the sides of the image to easily compare. 4. Just a heads up for anyone using windows 10. I learned yesterday that you have to set Windows to not automatically install drivers and to then set windows to ignore specific windows updates to prevent driver installations. This link explains how to do it rather easily: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/3fdcqw/upgrading_to_windows_10_read_me_first/ After installing my new GPU, I installed the latest driver from Nvidia. Windows 10 however will still want to install the latest graphic driver for you. This could be helpful on devices like a laptop where you would be using an integrated GPU. Windows could install the newest drivers and everything will work fine, but for desktops the latest graphics driver is literally the latest one just released and hasn't gone through all the windows authentication crap to be included in a windows update. So to prevent windows from attempting to install a driver later on, follow these steps and set that specific update to hidden and windows 10 won't recommend installing it again: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930
  5. That combat is going to be fun.
  6. That looks good. I'm guessing all the hype of Mighty number 9 got to Sega over the last year. If a remake of a classic game can sell then why not do it themselves. I like it.
  7. I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my graphics card. I bought a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 AMP! Edition. So far it's running pretty good. It is a huge upgrade over the 1 GB non gtx geforce stock card that came with my Dell XPS desktop. It only needs a single 6 pin power connector and the small profile fits perfectly without forcing me to buy new sata cables to fit around it. This card does run a little hot since the fans are dialed way back from the manufacturer. At idle the temp is 39 degrees Celsius and the fans do not run which works great for me because I work on this pc all day and there is no noise. When under load it'll spike up to 76 degrees Celsius but the fans have never gone over 50% power. Which means I have a little extra heat in my pc but it's still quiet. If I wanted to knock the temps down more I could use an over clocking tool and turn the fans up to full under load, but then I'd have a bunch of noise. Last thing I want is to sit next to a box fan while playing a game. Overall I'm pleased. I'll test it more over the next couple weeks.
  8. My new graphics card is working great so far. I'll be testing games and taking some screenshots of my GW2 characters this weekend. :D I had no idea that characters were supposed to have shadows. XD

Lol. XD I'm going to do more testing with steam streaming and my steam link to see if I can use steam to stream gw2 in full quality from my pc to my laptop. If it works I could grind at max settings on my laptop. :D I know it'll work like that for all my steam games but I don't know yet if I can get gw2 working like that with the steam overlay.

Did a AB mutlimap probably for the last time I had a chance to do it. I hope they patch this. Its killing the prices of rares and exotics on the TP. I now know why just about every exotic is around 80s with 40s buy orders. Some rares are only worth 20s now. So in actuality the mutlimap isn't very profitable anymore, and its dragging down the profitability of everything else.

At least flax and iron are still profitable. I never understood anet's logic of the reward being so massive in AB. Even world bosses are a single chest and maybe a couple bouncy ones in the corner.. AB gives out so many chests it takes almost as long to open all the chests and deal with the contents as it does to actually do the event. Thats crazy.

  9. I see they're keeping the trailer secretive by showing all these new ppl fighting walkers instead of giving away who survives.
  10. I hate FedEx. Their tracking is crap and they've delivered my packages to my neighbors before. -_-; As long as my graphics card works, the first thing I'll try out is GW2, then Starcraft 2. I purposefully stopped playing SC2 last month because I was hating the low graphic setting and FPS drops. Once I see it in max settings, I'll marathon the hell out of it in my free time.

UPS is so much better now that I get text messages indicating when the product is delivered so I know when to look on my neighbors porch for my products. Lol. They have gotten better over the years tho. They haven't screwed up a delivery of mine in 3 years now.

FedEx called me around noon asking where my house was because the driver couldn't see my house from the road even tho the number is visible on the front door from the street. -_-; at least that's better than when they dropped off my tv at the neighbors back door 4 years ago. I try and avoid FedEx at all cost.

      Strider Hiryu

This is why I prefer USPS, I've never had any trouble with them and always look for the option to ship with them when I can (plus priority shipping, while expensive, always arrives on time or earlier). I don't mind UPS but considering I don't get most of my packages until 7 or 8 pm when I use them it's rather annoying and can be a major inconvenience when it's something you really need. FedEx is a last ditch effort and I only use them when I know my friend is delivering it (he's a driver and he lets me know when he drops a package off if I'm not home).

I've tried to cancel orders from amazon once I realized they were shipping with FedEx. Every time I had the option to give feed back on packaging I'd complain like all hell against FedEx. Maybe it's just me but for the past couple years anything I've purchased from amazon and fulfilled by Amazon has only been shipped via ups or usps now. I like to think my complaining got me on a 'no FedEx' list. XD

  11. That was some good info. I also watched this one earlier: I hope hes right about us getting missions that take us through the raid maps to get the lore from it without having to actually do the raid. It'd be a great way to get everyone to see the maps and give us the lore without having to watch it on youtube videos.
  12. I never got Spec Ops: The Line from the last humble bundle it was in, so I know I'll pay at least $1. I would like to get the borderlands presequel but I still haven't beaten the first borderlands yet. That and I know if I wait long enough I can get the pre-sequel with all DLC for $7 at some point in a steam sale. I'd rather get battleborn on ps4, but with how the game has microtransactions and its pretty much dead, I wonder how long it'll be before its a free game on PS+. Sometimes these bundles look great but other times they seem more like minor savings by buying them bundled compared to paying an extra $1 or so per game during a large steam sale.
  13. Two years later after I made this topic, PS4 will finally get this game. I've purposefully avoided any news about this game so I wouldn't spoil it for myself. Now that I will finally have a PC that can play it, I think I'll still get it for PS4 later this year. The season pass is included for PS4 which does include a campaign DLC. http://www.vg247.com/2016/07/19/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-20-year-celebration-ps4-comes-with-extra-content-vr-support/
  14. Battleborn is already part of a humble bundle only 2 months after release for a minimum purchase of $15. If I can solo the campaign, I think I'll pick this up. https://www.humblebundle.com/2k-games-bundle
  15. I'd like to see the Mursaat come back into play. They were as intertwined with the white mantle as they were to Glint. https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mursaat Theres quite a bit of GW1 lore alot of people may not know about. I know I need a refresher course on it. I think I'll look thru some of wooden potatoes videos and find some good ones on the white mantle.
  16. I finally ordered my new graphics card. I bought a Geforce GTX 1060: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500403&ignorebbr=1 I had a 10% coupon too. I'll get it this friday. Its a great size for my case and it only needs a 6 pin connector. I wont have to upgrade my PSU and it'll fit in my case easily.
  17. My little puppy Elsa had her spay surgery today. Shes all tired and pathetic looking with her cone on. :(

  18. Holy crap. Thrawn is officially part of the new Star Wars canon. And there will be a new Thrawn novel. I'm so happy. This obviously means the Chiss are canon now as well. I need this book. Hell, I might even have to watch Star Wars Rebels now. http://io9.gizmodo.com/grand-admiral-thrawn-joins-rebels-and-the-new-star-wars-1783779089

  20. That vgcats comic.. lmao! I think of it more as who is going to pay the most money overall (i hate this concept i'm about to type tho). I think of games like battlefield, titanfall, call of duty, etc. They all are focused on that 60% of the consumer base of online players with broadband internet. The other 40% with crap internet or no internet can either play against some AI bots or get a campaign only with battlefield. If the console makers wanted to trim costs they could cut down on console production and focus solely on that smaller market with the best internet because they could potentially get a higher profit ratio. The rest of the people will just not get those games anymore and will have to settle with alternatives like hand held game consoles, mobile or tablet games that can be played offline. I doubt this would happen unless high speed internet becomes much more available across the country tho. But I could see it as a possibility because other companies do the exact same thing already. If someone lives in the middle of nowhere, cable companies wont install their lines on that person's street for just one customer. Same with a town's sewer and water lines. If you're not in the service area you have to get a well and septic tank. Its pretty shitty, but wherever I'm looking at houses for sale, I have to take into consideration all the services available to that location so I don't get screwed in the future. All those companies running the towns/village services wont make enough profit off that 1 or 2 customers to justify the expense of catering to their living locations, so they straight up ignore them instead. I think of blockbuster as another example too. Everyone used to rent physical videos and games, then netflix destroyed the business model. All those 60%ers out there with good internet have netflix, psn, xbox live, steam and enjoy themselves. The other 40% now have to go to a kiosk at a grocery store and have a selection of 10-15 movies to watch and 4-10 games instead of hundreds at a blockbuster. For all of us with good internet, everything keeps getting better. But for everyone with crap internet, their options keep dwindling. We don't hear about it online, because those people literally aren't online to complain about it. If this same trend continues to happen and only people with broadband high speed connections are the new and only customers, then everything digital will prevail and physical games could eventually disappear. Hypothetically I think it'll depend on what company eventually makes the best streaming services with the best performing servers, controllers, etc. Plus it'll give the companies competition because each one would charge different fees to game companies and possibly pay companies for exclusives. PSN and Xbox could very well not even make a stick, but instead become apps like netflix and could work on a variety of devices or even be built in with Smart TVs with bluetooth for game controller input. Companies like Steam and Apple take at least 30% of the sale of all games. If PSN and Xbox didn't have competitive prices, they could all be charging crazy rates and game developers would be even more screwed. I would think of a PSN or Xbox app as competitors to steam at that point, just like amazon prime video and hulu are competitors with netflix. Wow. I did not know that. I have installed games by bypassing the market and installing .apk files on my android because of the original humble mobile bundles. I didn't know other installed games could still access company servers tho. I hear ya. x_x I know 60+ year old coworkers that play the hell out of angry birds, farmville, etc. tho. But thats the exception. My parents have no significant interest in games and theres plenty of people I know that would think playing a video game is for kids and would rather go to a bar and throw darts while drinking beer. My younger brother plays all kinds of games but he hates pokemon go and told me the other day that as an adult he didn't have time for that childish crap. lol. And back to Pokemon Go. (lmao, this has gotten way off topic, but its a great read imo. Its very interesting to toss around theories like this.) I installed pokemon go and caught a couple pokemon while sitting on my ass: And then I checked the surrounding area.. There is a poke stop in the cemetery across the street from me, but I've never noticed anyone actively going there. And it looks like a location near or at the local grocery store a couple streets away is a poke gym.. it could be the liquor store actually. lmao. I wont know because I uninstalled it. The game is an interesting concept, but I'm not interested in taking a road trip to hunt pokemon. The AR feature of the game is pretty interesting tho. These pokemon just float on your screen and if you can line them up on stuff it looks like thats where they are standing, like on my toilet paper roll. I've noticed that you have a limited amount of pokeballs and the things have a tendancy of flying all over the place when you throw them. Thus ensuring that you will eventually run out and need to buy more. I'm assuming pokecoins are obtainable in game somehow, but the microtransactions are real in this game: Nah.. I know I have a tendency to go OCD on some games, but this setup along with having to literally go all over the place isn't for me.
  21. btw how are your loot box drops? Are you still getting new things all the time or do things start duplicating after a while?
  22. Even with gliding making collecting those coins and badges way easier I still rage quit both collections after numerous failed attempts at getting a couple specific ones.
  23. And that would be just the first part of the collection. the next part would need more wood than nevermore. Wood prices would quadruple within hours of someone finding out the requirements. but with anet they'd probably also require stacks of herbs and produce to so they can increase the value of those items. Omnomberries could go up to 1 gold each.
  24. Stranger Things debuted on Netflix yesterday. Me and Lady marathoned this 8 episode series last night. Wow. I normally hate things with kids in it but this was the best tv series I have seen this year. Its based in the 80s so theres no cell phones and things look a little dated, including the 80s music and clothing, but it works out great. After watching this I can tell it must have been highly inspired by Silent Hill, Stephen King and Dean Koontz's novel Door to December. If you like any of those things you will like this series. This was also made with movie quality production. Netflix needs to make more series like this. We could not stop watching it once we started. The trailer gives away a just a couple scenes but none of the major stuff, but skip the trailer it if you're planning on watching it soon to avoid any spoilers.
  25. I just saw this video for it and this has some good potential. Create an entire city and then go exploring all over the place. Thats pretty cool.
