I never played any of the Assassin's Creed games so I have nothing to compare this to. But it does looks far far better than that horrible Prince of Persia movie.

A side mounted scope could be quite useful if we can swap between iron sights and the scope on the fly like I could on Medal of Honor Warfighter: Dual sights worked great for going around corners inside a building and then swapping back to the long range scope in the open. Jackfrags has made a couple really good videos talking about the weapons and vehicles of WW1:

Click the link for the rest of the article. Its quite interesting. It'll be the first time stem cells will be injected into brain dead people. If this actually works, these people could be brought back.. but would they still be the same people after technically being dead? Of course conspiracy theorists are already predicting the zombie apocalypse will happen because of this. http://www.iflscience.com/brain/biotech-company-use-stem-cells-reactivate-brains-dead

This was a decent movie, not amazing, but a good watch. It felt like a movie reboot of "Falling Skies".

I watched Deadpool tonight and I loved it. The movie starts with great action, flashes back occasionally to the origin stuff in segments while still maintaining high action scenes. This is the best origin story comic book movie ever made imo. And Fox finally redeemed themselves for that horrible "Barakapool" from X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I'm glad the series got renewed. I've enjoyed it so far and I'm glad it's getting transferred to the CW. They'll definitely do some more crossovers now. The Flash crossover was the best episode in season 1. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/supergirl-season-two-cw-892629

How long was that giant fight scene from the trailers? Was it the best part of the movie? I'm surprised Iron Man or War Machine don't just auto target everyone's legs and blow a hole in everyone within the first 5 seconds of a fight.

Vikings Season 4 (Spoilers of current episodes)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I think the show is at this point where it would be better if they killed Ragnar off and let his sons take control. Ragnar in season 1 was amazing because he thought ahead. He planned things out and made situations work to his advantage. But then in season 3 theres no equivalent of king Horik anymore. Its all fighting with no major strategy and too much emphasis on Ragnar tripping on drugs. Season 3 actually flipped the central point away from Ragnar and put everything on Rollo. Rollo was the strategist now. He was the one that planned ahead and made a situation work in his favor for his own personal gain. Rollo became the equivalent of Ragnar from season 1, except Rollo betrayed absolutely everyone close to him for his own personal gain. Along with the constant scene changes over to Wessex, all the screen time Ragnar got was of him being drugged and blabbering. They should kill him off, focus the show around Bjorn and Ivar. I just checked Wikipedia about this... Even tho I've seen Ragnar's death mentioned in a couple different scenarios that have already come to pass in the history channel series, it looks like Ragnar could still get killed off in Wessex after all. This could be the next season of Vikings: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%86lla_of_Northumbria -
Don't you have to fight other players in the game when they die? They invade your game and try to kill you or something? Are those players as difficult as some of these major enemies? And what if you die.. does your stats and upgrades help you in your dead state to kill people to get resurrected?

Newest Generation Graphics Cards - Nvidia Pascal
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Science & Technology
The more I think about it, I won't be playing games in 4k anytime soon or using VR since I'd have to drop even more money on hardware. With that in mind, I should be able to buy a GTX 960 (so I won't have to upgrade my power supply or I'd get a 970) and be able to play pretty much every game I have now at max settings at 1080p. When I eventually upgrade to a 4k monitor I'll definitely get the new GTX 1070 at that point.- 16 replies

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to wait to watch this until it comes out on bluray. I know Thor wasn't in this movie, but what about Hulk? Was he a no show too?

Newest Generation Graphics Cards - Nvidia Pascal
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Science & Technology
I'm tempted to straight up buy that $379 card myself, but thats a pretty steep investment for me at this time. But if I can get any decent card for about 1/4 that price, I'll be pleased. AMD still hasn't announced their new graphics cards yet, but compared to the bombshell nvidia dropped in terms of power for low cost, AMD might not be as competitive. We might get some good price wars going for the low end old gen cards soon.- 16 replies

I'm going to upgrade an image handling php extension to the server later this week and change some image settings around to auto resize uploaded images. I might be able to get image uploads from mobile phones working correctly. If so, pictures of my dogs will rain down in these galleries.
-
I love the auto saved highlights from my game history. The game obviously knows what constitutes as a good highlight, but when it picks the POTG out of all the highlights created in a match, it always seems off around half the time.

Oh damn.. I had no idea all those old classic monster movies were being rebooted into 1 shared universe of potential cross over movies. Either that or I forgot. Van Helsing was a fun movie, I'm surprised its getting a reboot too. Dracula Untold was actually a decent movie tho. Maybe these new reboots will turn out decent.

I think the biggest problem with the BF4 launch was the fact that they used a new frostbite engine and launched on 5 different platforms simultaneously. They must not have had the resources to address the amount of issues across all platforms in a timely manner. I remember the PS3 and Xbox 360 were had the most significant issues with Bf4's launch. Now with BF1 only being on 3 platforms and they're using the same game engine, it should go much smoother. And theres really no excuse why it shouldn't go much smoother the more I think about it. The other positive is that BF1 won't be restricted to old gen limitations like BF4 was: That DLC had it's shield limited because of PS3 and Xbox 360 limitations. Now theres no more need for DICE to hold back on anything they want to actually do. This is the biggest difference between Battlefield and Call of Duty. DICE will take the chance of having a rough launch and customer complaints for the sake of innovation and improvement. EA lets them do this because DICE knows what they're doing. But Activision keeps COD stagnated. Its all the same game engine. Its all the same recycled game. There is no real innovation with that franchise anymore. And if the Modern Warfare remaster needs IW installed as part of its base code to run, well it'll be another game I won't buy until I see it on sale for $10 on steam or on a PSN sale. Its actually kind of stupid of activision to do this.. bundling the 2 games together actually makes the game compete with itself in terms of the population of each COD's multiplayer. I don't necessarily think it's Activision that is screwing over all these developers. I guess it could be. It looks like Activision screwed Destiny, but Bungie also screwed Destiny with their horrible game engine that takes forever for them to update. But did Activision screw the COD developers? Maybe Activision is telling these companies to keep popping out new COD titles like pez and not worry about the game engine. Or maybe these companies don't have the developmental power to actually update their core game engine or are even willing to take a chance. Bungie took a chance and made a new game engine and in the end that engine sucked horribly for them to develop into new expansions or potential sequels. If Activision wants to save COD, they need to put the money into a new engine. They should do what EA did and make their own version of Frostbite to use on a variety of game titles.

I think everyone got burned out on scifi / futuristic shooters because of Destiny. BF1 is exactly what everyone has been wanting for a while. Compared to what everyone has been playing for a while this will feel fresh and enjoyable. Activision was dumb to combine Modern Warfare with their new COD. If they'd have released just the remaster for $30 it could have given BF1 some serious competition. But for $70 minimum just to get it, I'm sure a crap load of people would rather dump that money into BF1 instead to get 60 player MP and top of the line graphics on a great game engine. As long as BF1's servers run smooth, I'm sure they'll get massive sales. On another note, they said they've been working on BF1 for a couple years now. With how Star Wars Battlefront plays, my guess is they pulled alot of developers off that game for BF1 in that last year of it's own development. Battlefront could have been so much better but it felt like a cash grab compared to how battlefield games feel more like an investment for entertainment to me. lol. I played about $40 worth of battlefront but lost my excitement for it quickly. I paid $100 for bf4 with premium and I played that game for hundreds of hours over 6 months. Only Guild Wars 2 and Battlefield games can keep my attention that long. Destiny did for a while, but I'm done with that franchise.

I played for another hour and half tonight. Some rounds felt like I was going against a premade group. x_x But half my rounds were extremely fun. Mostly because I played as Tracer or Reaper exclusively. Damn those characters are fun. I even killed a Reinhardt with Tracer and it felt amazing. I knew he could kill me in a single hammer swing, so i kited the hell out of the guy, blinked thru him as he did his hammer attack, shot him up in the back, blinked past him again, kited and finished him off. Another time I blinked right up to a roadhog, stuck a pulse bomb on his chest, and recalled away before the bomb exploded. That felt great. Reaper seems a bit OP. I got an 8 kill streak by just holding R2 and kiting around enemies. The heal from the orbs from fallen enemies gives him too much sustain for the amount of damage he can dish out. Once I started learning some of the maps, I always kept myself almost in line of sight of a heal pickup. Knowing where those are and being able to disengage from enemies to get a heal makes all the difference. I was on the receiving end of a team of five Soldier 76ers. With them all throwing down their heals back to back along with their damage output, you really don't need anything else on the team. I tried playing as Bastion for a while and failed with him. Turns out people can attack the far edge of Bastion's body in turret mode while hiding behind a wall. The hit box for bastion is larger in sentry mode and I got killed repeatedly by people that knew to hug a wall and clip my robotic toes while I have no way of hitting them at the angle they were at. Its a good counter I never noticed before. I had a couple matches where I got disconnected and then had horrendous lag as if I was using a lag switch. Had to quit the game and relaunch it to fix it. Overall I was impressed with the game. I still think the match making could make or break this game though. I'd like to see an option to tell if anyone is in a premade group or not, and if premade groups become a big thing, they should consider adding a solo que seeing as premades would have a huge advantage over casuals that don't want to talk to strangers.

DICE knows how to make their fans happy.

This is pretty damn huge. A regular GTX 1070 will be coming out in a few months that is more powerful as a Titan X card and will run on less power. The Titan X costs $1,000 and the the new GTX 1070 will be $379. I'm not going to drop that much any time soon, but I'm definitely going to buy a gtx 960 once I see it for a little over $100. Prices on current gen graphics cards are going to plummet over the next couple months. I read where somebody bought a used gtx 980 ti the other day for $400 used because the 'price was too good'. lol. If he'd have waited another couple months he could have bought this new card retail for $379 and got a card about 1.5 times or so faster. http://kotaku.com/nvidias-latest-most-advanced-graphics-card-is-faster-an-1775298267

I'm guessing this will be a reboot of the original Mummy movie and not the Brendan Fraser mummy? But then again, that was a reboot of the Mummy franchise too. Now we'll have Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe battling some ancient mummy. Source: http://icv2.com/articles/news/view/34425/universal-unveils-the-mummy-plot

Maybe he'll be a good Han Solo. I still have the old Han Solo Trilogy of books in my head so it'll be a hard watch for me since all that canon will be thrown out the window. Source: http://deadline.com/2016/05/star-wars-han-solo-movie-alden-ehrenreich-frontrunner-cast-1201737425/

I'm going to try to get back on for some more rounds tomorrow if I get the time. This game gives me those feelings like when I first got street fighter 2 or soul caliber. A huge character roster of unique possibilities and outcomes, except in team mode and fps. Battleborn is very similar with its multiplayer in terms of unique characters, but overwatch seems more fluid to me. And no one character has been overly out of balance for the entire beta either. I won't be getting this at launch but I'll buy this game at some later this year. I love the fact that there are AI modes to so I don't have to play it online if I just want to do a couple quick solo rounds to practice a character.

I saw Bastion POTG more than anything else. I'm surprised he isn't as popular as reaper. Everyone goes into sentry/chaingun mode and just shreds people apart. I need to try more offensive characters but I often feel like I should run defense or tank since theres always 2 reapers on my team. Zenyatta seems OP with someone who knows how to use him. This guy on my team was playing Zenyatta and he demolished the hell out of everyone he came across. So I kept following him around and threw armor packs right in his path to make him even more godly. I'm glad Mercy can get kill assists with her buffing and healing, but I don't think I got any extra credit from armor packing anyone with Torbjorn (I might have, but I didn't notice).

I always wanted a game where I could pull a Lina Inverse and use a "Dragon Slave" spell to incinerate half a village with a small a-bomb explosion. lol. If I could do this in Dark Souls I'd go and buy it asap.
