All upcoming Star Wars shows and movies announced
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I hear ya @Strider Hiryu I still have all my old Star Wars books that aren't canon anymore. But at least Thrawn is canon. I'm really wondering if Star Wars will retcon the sequel trilogy. I read some theories that they're going to "multiverse" Star Wars and say that trilogy happened in an alternate one and not the prime one. Star Wars has always loved retconning things so they might just do that. They could easily do it with one of these series or a movie and just say some character found some ancient alien tech, yada yada yada, theres now a multiverse or it always existed and heres how its playing out now. Bad Batch looks great. I'm glad they're making another animated series in that same style. They were definitely some unique characters. -
BTW I forgot to say that M&T and most of the other banks I've used will almost always wave all monthly checking fees as long as you have direct deposit setup with your employer. I still have 3 different checking accounts, 2 are for rainy day funds and emergencies and I keep them active and cost free by having $10 a pay check go to each of those 2 accounts. If you have direct deposit see if your bank can wave any monthly or yearly fees for you. And more covid news. I heard all of NY State might be going back into another complete lockdown soon. That will kill off any businesses that have been struggling already. About once a week I'm reading a story about another small business permanently shutting down around here. The latest one was a couple days ago, one well known bar that was in business for 60 years is having its last day this upcoming friday and then its done for good.

All upcoming Marvel MCU shows and movies announced

That Disney 18+ sounds great as long as its not an extra fee. They could always incorporate it into existing Disney + and just have it in the menu with a parental lock like Netflix can do. -
I'm glad it worked out for you in the end. Some companies are too damn shady. Thats what alot of the reviews where saying. The plot line and writing is all great, but the gameplay and graphics on the regular ps4 is sounding like it'd be hard to play. https://www.theverge.com/2020/12/14/22173738/cyberpunk-2077-developer-apologizes-base-ps4-xbox-one-performance-issues-refunds

All upcoming Star Wars shows and movies announced

I thought so to, but it is over the course of a couple years tho. Most of these shows don't even have a release date yet so I wouldn't be surprised if some get delayed. I hear ya on that. Mandalorian is the amazing though. If they can keep all future products at this quality or higher they might actually save Star Wars. The saving grace of Mandalorian is that its basically a direct sequel to Star Wars Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Its not necessary to watch those series to enjoy Mandalorian but you get alot more context out of the show if you've seen those series. And thats why I think they might save Star Wars in the end. All those sequel movies were pointless because Disney just let directors make whatever shit they wanted instead of having an overarching series/movies spanning plot line. But Mandalorian is directly tied in and respects the existing canon that was established. I'm hyped for the Ashoka series. -
I have an account at one bank that has an ATM that looks like its at least 50 years old. The atm is so outdated it can't even accept money or check deposits. I mostly use M & T banks and their atms are top notch. Money and check deposits right there at the atm and it'll print a receipt with a low quality image of the check with deposit amount for your own records after the deposit. Most of the larger size M&T banks have a drive thru lane dedicated to only the atm and an additional atm inside the building that is locked at night. I have to insert and remove my debit card at the door to get access like a key card, that room is huge, glass windows everywhere and fully lit up with security cameras everywhere. Then the main lobby to the bank is completely locked from inside that atm lobby and you can only get in the bank itself during normal hours. The smaller branch of the M&T only has a drive up atm but its in the same lane as a regular window so if you go to it during normal hours you might have to wait a bit if they are busy.

Ahsoka getting her own show... hell yes.

Cobra Kai (Karate Kid Sequel/Spinoff)
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I'm getting hyped for it. The trailer doesn't really show much but thats probably for the best since they love to throw surprises at us in every episode. -
Oh man.. I was complaining about Yongyea not showing an accurate representation of the game because he was using a PC that the majority of players would never use to actually run the game.. Well he finally showed some PS4 footage and damn if it doesn't look like ass. I guess if you let it eventually load it looks ok, but once you start walking or driving around and the FPS drops to 15 and graphics look like PS1... damn. Ouch, well I'm glad you got your order. I've never ordered gold or silver online before. I would think something like that is heavily insured by the shipper in case of lost deliveries since it'd be worth alot of money. I had to do a claim with Newegg for a copy of H&R Block. Only worth $20. I got it on black friday, but somehow USPS sent the package to Ohio instead of NY and then the tracking said it was forwarded. It was sitting there for 5 days until I called Newegg and complained. They must have found it because the package now shipped out from Ohio. I guess I'll get it eventually.

The first part was before he could show gameplay footage. The game looks great with an expensive ass PC and graphics card on max settings. Aside from the bugs and clunky menu it sounds like its a really fun game, at least according to Yongyea who got the game free to make a review. I'll have to watch some other reviews. I also want to see what it really looks like on a PS4. People with a PS5 would probably be better off once the PS5 version of it gets released with the free upgrade option. Hell if not for scalpers it'd be cheaper right now to buy a PS5 at retail price than pay just that amount of money for the graphics card Yong was using for his review. Hell that RTX 3080 graphics card costs $700 alone. Hell, that was basically humblebragging on his part that he even has one of those cards since they've been getting scalped worse than the PS5. 🙄

I'm hesitant to take a brand new vaccine before it gets widescale use by a much larger group of people than just the drug company's case trials. Mostly because some vaccines do great in trials but when widescale used issues can arise like with the dengue fever vaccine: https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2019/05/03/719037789/botched-vaccine-launch-has-deadly-repercussions But if a vaccine has been proven to be effective and safe I'd jump on it. I had chicken pox as a kid and that was 2 weeks of crap right there, but I've seen an entire generation never have chicken pox, which is awesome. No chicken pox means they'll never get shingles when they're older either. My mom gets shingles about once a year or every other year as a result of chicken pox as a kid. Theres a shingles vaccine, but that only lasts up to five years and I can't remember if she gets that or not. I will say tho, I'm damn glad my parents gave me the polio vaccine when I was a kid. Polio doesn't effect everybody just like covid doesn't effect everybody.. but if polio did effect you, you can get permanent paralysis and a screwed up spine for life. Screw that. I was talking with Lady's dad the one day about vaccines, he was like "I remember when everybody was getting polio in school, what a disaster that was. That vaccine worked great and everything started to go back to normal." I guess they were lucky back in those days that polio was only an epidemic and more controlled instead of covid being a pandemic. I'm glad that works good for you. I still haven't tried mobile deposits myself, mostly because I don't usually get any checks I need to cash. The bank near me usually has no line since I only ever use the atm. I can use their atm after bank hours to make a deposit since it has the check cashing/deposit feature.

That sucks for that lady's business. They're doing the same crap here. They "orange zoned" more areas near me recently so most of the county I live in closed down and non essential businesses like hair salons, barber shops, movie theaters, etc. all closed again. I think the big thing everyone is frustrated with is not just the forced closing, but no compensation from the government anymore for those closures. Like earlier in the year they had that covid bill that passed giving small businesses those forgivable loans and everyone got paid $2400 extra a month to stay home. Alot of people took advantage of that and now all thats done but covid is still causing lock downs. The government needs to completely change their lock down rules or maybe pass another bill to compensate businesses for forcing them to close (hopefully not that extravagant again, but I wouldn't mind another stimulus check, lol.). With the way the government is right now, I don't see any bill passing at all. Meanwhile here, winter is hitting and all the restaurants that have outdoor eating are going to be screwed because when the snow really starts falling and temps really drop hard, nobody will want to eat outside in a plastic bubble with a space heater in it. Those places will start closing up permanently. Hopefully we get a vaccine soon. I wouldn't rush out to get a vaccine myself, but if they tie a stimulus check to it.. "get the vaccine and get $1200 stimulus" I'd jump in line for that vaccine in a heartbeat.

My old TP-Link AC1750 started to die on me last week after multiple years of perfect use. It started needing a reboot once a day because the internet would completely stop for wired and wireless. After 3 days it needed 2 reboots and thats when we bought a new router. Theres been plenty of routers on sale with black friday lately, but instead of going with netgear I went with TP-Link again because this last router lasted years longer than any other router I've ever owned. My dad got a new AX wifi 6 netgear router off of bestbuy a couple weeks ago but because it was black friday exclusive model there was hardly any reviews for it. Since its been a few weeks alot more negative reviews started popping up on it so decided to stick with TP-Link. We bought the TP-Link AX3000: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-WiFi-AX3000-Smart-Router/dp/B07YMFZ28Q/ https://www.walmart.com/ip/TP-Link-Archer-AX3000-4-Stream-Dual-Band-Wi-Fi-6-Wireless-Router-Up-to-3-Gbps-Speeds-Powered-by-Intel/100797162 We got it from walmart since its cheaper there for the "deals for days" reduced price during November and December. So far I'm loving this router. Much faster speeds that the AC1750. Everything seemed to connect great to it and my phone gets 80+ mbps connection outside my house almost an acre away. But my nvidia shield seems to have a worse connection to my pc for game streaming with it. I'm not entirely sure why but instead of troubleshooting it any more I decided to finally hard wire my Nvidia Shield with an old cat 5 eithernet 100 foot cable I had. That improved my game streaming to a whole other level. Now when I'm streaming a game from my PC to my living room, its as if I'm playing the game directly on that TV with absolutely no input lag. The connection I'm getting is only 100 mbps between the shield and the PC, but the router has gigabit ports. Turns out I need to upgrade my eithernet cables. I had no idea roughly 5-6 generations of eithernet cables has happened since the last time I bought one. I did not know those cables were advancing like HDMI cables were. I ordered a couple cat 8 cables because they were the same price as the cat 6 on amazon a couple days ago. That should give me a solid 1 gbps connection between the two devices for extra clarity and no more minor pixilation. The only pixilation I was getting was when I play one of the Sonic racing games. It was running 60 fps but the sky was getting some pixilation effects on the tv. This new cable should fix that. The only other device issue I had was with my laptop. Its an older laptop and it could only ever connect to wifi at 20mhz on 2.4g. Well, my laptop hated this new router. I could only get it to connect to a temporary guest network and it'd only get 7 mbps down and 11 mbps up. The last driver update that wifi adapter got was back in 2011 and it was the best driver for it. So I figure the internal wifi adapter must be dying. The laptop has only usb 2 so I couldn't get a usb 3 wifi adapter. So I spent $13 and bought this: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Mini-Wireless-Supports-10-9-10-14/dp/B07PB1X4CN/ I plugged it in, installed the driver from the cd the device came with. I haven't used a CD in years. lol. My laptop can now connect to 2.4g or 5g and on either I'm getting 80mbps down now. On 5g I'm getting 110 mbps down and the laptop is no where near the router. I wish I'd have bought this adapter years ago. BTW, my phone is a Galaxy S20 FE. Since my wifi router is a wifi 6, my wifi on my phone actually has a little 6 next to the icon now. Even on 2.4g connection my phone is connected with AX wifi 6 and its blazing fast.

Well that sucks. Hows the multiplayer so far with the cross play? Have you come across noticeable hacking?

Aside from Mandalorian and the Star Wars animated series, I think I've watched maybe 1 or 2 movies on Disney + over the year I had it. Its honestly not that great of a streaming network to me unless you have kids to watch all those Disney movies. I wouldn't mind watching the old X-Men series again at some point though.

That episode was awesome. I cannot predict this show at all. I wish the people making this was in charge of all star wars movies too. And Holy crap that reveal. I was expecting to see a jedi show up...

I think Worms Rumble is trying to see if it can catch some popularity like Fall Guys did with releasing free on day 1.

Damn I did not realize all that.

I'm really tempted to get Wolfenstein 2 with all DLC for $11. Those are some damn good prices.

I was going to post my thanksgiving info in this topic, but I forgot and made it a status update. https://www.ancientclan.com/profile/1-sledgstone/?status=1609&type=status The one downside of the covid for my thanksgiving is we all did "virtual hugs" with my dad. When we wanted to give him a hug, we'd see him across the table or if we were 6 feet away or so, we'd say "virtual hug" and do the hugging motion at each other. With covid, we had to be careful because hes a prime target for that virus. My younger brother and his wife got covid tests 2 days before thanksgiving too since his sister in law and her husband both covid and tested positive for it this time. His father in law and 2 others in their family also got it, but never got the covid test and decided they'd go ahead and keep working in public instead of using sick time. wtf. And people wonder why covid is spreading like crazy. "Its just the sniffles, I'm ok." but the other brother had a temp of 103 for 3 days last I heard. And the sister in law was bedridden for 4 days with an almost constant temp of 102. wtf. Meanwhile her husband lost his sense of taste and was sick for only a day. But the sense of taste was gone for like 4 days. This covid hits everyone different.

I went to Ohio to visit my family for Thanksgiving. Yes, there is covid, but we were careful. We did restaurant style rules for eating, masks on when getting plates of food, my brother's familys at their own tables all 6 foot+ away from the other tables while eating. We kept our masks on near my dad because of his immune system being compromised by the cancer treatments. Aside from that we kept the windows open to keep fresh air circulating in. We took our masks off when we'd be 6 feet away from him and each other. Its good that my mom's house is so big, the kitchen/greatroom is literally big enough to have parties of 50 people. Our handful of people was able to keep distances pretty easily. Its been 4 days since Thanksgiving and nobody is coming down with any covid symptoms so I'm guessing we did good.
It was a fun time. Alot of good memories. I hardly ever visit Ohio during winter months because of winter snow storms in NY. We lucked out and its been in the 50s and only raining off and on. I caught a ride back and forth with my cousin who now lives in NY also. He had a covid test done the day before we left which was negative and I quarantined in my house for 2 weeks leading up to the trip. I'll be quarantining again for another 2 weeks just in case, but that doesn't bother me much.
