I'm sure everyone has seen Disqus, its on almost every website on the internet now. Have you used it before? and if so, what are your thoughts on it? I find it very interesting, so many sites had some sort of facebook commenting system in place, but Disqus has taken over everything. I've seen some sites use Disqus for their article comments and keep their forums as a separate accounts. I've even thought about doing that with AC at one point, but something about Disqus seems a bit unsettling to me. I have a feeling that one of the major companies are going to buy it outright before it gets much bigger. Facebook or Google have probably been eying it for some time now. Disqus does have some nice features to it to, including linking to related articles in the comments and even having an add revenue system in place. What would you guys think if I switched the articles from being connected to the forums and having them as completely separate with "comments by disqus"? It was an idea I've had off and on, but I'm on the fence about it. I'm really looking forward to how articles will be handled in the new Invision Power 4.0 version before I do anything different like this tho. I think I'd rather keep all the article comments on our own server and not have them handled by a third party, but some of those disqus features are pretty nice.

Invision Power Services has launched their test site for their new 4.0 software that we'll be upgrading to sometime after they release it and a new skin is available (most likely the same skin / theme we are using now). Its interesting as I didn't know what exactly to expect. I knew they were recoding the entire platform so all their products can be used separately, but I was kind of expecting some new eye popping layout or something. When compared to their current forum, it actually looks very similar: Current forum running IPB 3: http://community.invisionpower.com/ Test forum running IPB 4: http://zend.ipsdevserver.com/ips4/ Once a good skin is installed, I'm sure it'll look fine, just like how AC currently looks very different from the regular IPB3 skin. It does look like some nice features have been added and the software works much better on mobile devices now, including mobile image uploads. According to their admins, they have spent a long time making the new core software to give them a solid platform to add many new features and functionality to for years to come. I look forward to seeing what this software is actually capable of. I've been holding off on doing any major renovations to this site because I've been waiting for this new version. As of this post, they have still not revealed the new content management system (CMS aka IP.Content), and that is the primary piece that I'm most interested in and how the new version of it will affect the way articles are handled on AC.

I could see that. I read another article that amazon is making no changes to twitch at this time and is letting them run independently for now.

Season 2 has ended and I'm somewhat pleased with how they finished the Irzu story arc. They definitely left it open for a season 3, but I don't see how they'd bring Nolan and Irisa back into it at this point. If they make a season 3, I'll watch it.

I started watching my walking dead season 4 blu rays. The ps3 surround sound blows away my cable box. that helicopter on the roof scene sounded amazing.

I like some indie games but many don't look appealing to me anymore. There are a variety of cheap non indie games on steam tho. I'm surprised more developers aren't releasing ps4 versions of their games. Even if they become ps+ freebies I'm sure they must make a profit off it.

I'm not all that impressed with September's free games. I might try out Sony's version of Smash Brothers on my PS3 tho.

I finally watched this movie and it wasn't that good. I agree with Myk JL, this movie had no actual plot. I thought Live free or Die Hard was a better movie.. After watching "A Good Day to Die Hard", I doubt there will be another Die Hard movie. This felt like a 'pass the torch to the new actor' movie, like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." And the trailers completely spoil the entire movie. Even the trailer's image in the youtube video in the first post of this topic gives away the entire ending.

I tried playing DCUO on PS3. It was such a pain in the ass just trying to meet up with friends, that I quit even trying to play it because it would literally take over an hour to meet up with someone. Maybe they fixed that issue.. Hell, we'd even go to the watchtower and it would take another hour to find each other, only to find out we weren't in the same phase.. and even getting on the same phase still didn't work most of the time.

PlayStation Home in Japan and Asia will end March 2015. I wonder how long they'll keep the service operational in Europe and America. I only used PlayStation Home once, but I kind of like the Xbox and Wii U avatar system better. http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/23/playstation-home-closed-japan/

I finished watching the 2 episodes that aired back to back tonight. Next Thursday is the 2 hour season finale. So far the show has not yet been renewed for a season 3, so I hope the finale is good and at least finishes up the Irisa / Irzu thing. Some things in the last handful of epsiodes don't make sense to me. I thought Niles wanted the doctor out of the jail because he saw her secret research about the metal filiments / Irzu that is in Irisa and wanted to use that power for his own advantage. But no.. he wanted her to use the human dna grafted onto the indogene host technique so that they could clone Amanda's sister.. and then they needed to put the ego device in Amanda's head to get her memories to then put into the cloned sister's head.. all of this elaborate scheming just so he could somehow hook up with her? This was one of the worst plot lines I've seen in a while. But then Niles wants the doctor brought to justice for her crimes.. but if anyone actually catches her she could easily implicate him in the whole mess. Also, Datak was released from prison on Yewll's behalf because he was supposed to be her protector or something. Now that the doctor is wanted again, shouldn't that have recinded Datak's parole? Yet he is still free.. I kind of wish this season left that entire clone plot line out all togther and focused more on the political matters or some outside danger again like in season 1. It would have been a bit more interesting to me. I kept thinking it would all somehow tie into the main plot line, but it really didn't and it felt like filler in hindsight. The last couple episodes were much better. Nobody knew who killed that woman, lmao. That was great. And now the season finale is going to be the "Votan Rapture" as Nolan called it. Should be interesting and I look forward to seeing how the season ends. Hopefully if a third season does happen, then they get some better plot lines.

Hmmm. If the game ties up loose ends from Diablo 2, and I've never played it, would Diablo 3 be worth paying? Or would the plot be confusing as I skipped a game and I can't even remember how Diablo 1 ended? -
I've been rewatching Orphen. Even tho its an older anime, it has aged nicely and is still a great series. I've never watched the second season tho.. I really need to download it at some point.
