The Last of Us won 10 awards including Game of the Year. Check the link below to see the results. I hope this encourages Naughty Dog to re-release it as a Game of the Year edition on the PS4. And I'd love to see a sequel. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/02/07/the-last-of-us-wins-game-of-the-year-at-dice-awards-2014

Everything You Need to Know about the Destiny BETA!
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
This game has so much hype.. 10 million life time sales.. I hope the beta is jaw dropping amazing. Because if it is, I think they will achieve that goal. -
Thank you for posting this. I've been wanting to watch it and I kept forgetting. This will be a good reminder for me.

The same people that thought Michael Bay would be good for transformers are probably the same people that think he'll be good for TMNT.

I love that SRR gun. I must get it unlocked.
-
I've seen it in use in a couple videos after the recent DMR patch. It looks as effective as the SKS. I'm looking forward to trying it.
-
Wow wtf. I just watched a video and it seems to have less recoil than the SKS, and its damage is higher. I'll have this unlocked tomorrow...
-
I didn't look at its stats.. if it is higher damage than the SKS then it should be the superior gun.

I'm guessing there are no pilot classes and that the players are like COD's.. choose any loadout, etc. But if there are no classes and a small amount of unlocks / loadout possibilities, then I could see this game getting old pretty quick. It must be targeted more to the call of duty players. Quick turn around gameplay like that gets boring to me.

I wish they'd stop making these movies so they can be rebooted after a year or 2. i hate reboots now, but Transformers definitely needs one.

Anyone notice that no robot spoke a single word in the entire trailer? Well.. Optimus grunted twice as if passing gas around the 8 second mark. Its all about the humans.. and the giant cg battles in the background. But what happened to Sam Whitwititickiey? I still can't spell his name. I'm surprised the trailer wasn't about him trying to live a normal daily life with his parents when a giant battle breaks out in their backyard.

Lockheed Martin Reveals Portable Laser Cannon
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Science & Technology
Hmmm.. It will make a great defense.. but I wonder how well it will work on a rainy day. In rain, all those droplets could disrupt or refract the laser.. On the other hand, maybe the laser is so powerful it cuts through rain and clouds? What if they could modify this into a submarine weapon.. Imagine a completely stealth sub that could laser attack an enemies hull and not give away its position. -
So the apple tv as a gaming device will be the equivalent of the ouya? But instead of android games, it will play apple store games instead? That sounds weak.

I am so behind on these videos. I'm going to binge watch them sometime this week.

Wow. It would be fun, but calling it an academy seems ridiculous to me. Its about as educational as the duel monsters academy in yu-gi-oh.

If I can focus my thoughts, I'll write up a new blog post I've been thinking about for a while now. I have a completely different opinion on the paranormal now. I can now rule out over 90% of everything I ever thought of as supernatural.

I listed to some Queensryche the other day.. Operation: Mindcrime. I thought it was a crazy album and I liked it. Its my first time really listening to a rock opera before. Its interesting to hear every song follow a storyline. Anyone have other rock operas they'd recommend?

I mentioned this game to my older brother earlier and he told me the impressions he got were that the first 2 bioshock games were also like that.. one game was based on the exaggerated representations of the extreme left wing and another one for the extreme right wing. I'll play this game through to the end because I want to see where it goes. The bioshock games seem to be popular and I've seen cosplay and other references to the games, so I might play the first 2 eventually just so I know what people are referring to.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (spoilers)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
A guild would be cool, but I'd be that guy that logs in once a week for 1 hour and accomplishes nothing. I started playing this game back in August of last year and I just recently beat it.. It took me 5 months to beat KOTOR. I never had the disable/destroy droid power. I upgraded Jolee and Juhani with that and I focused on force lightning and force wave. I'm glad the lightning worked on those jedi bodies or I'd have been screwed. I never worried about the force defense for my main character. My attack was so insane I'd be able to kill almost everything within a couple hits. Especially once I switched over to jedi robes and started using the force Master Speed.. it gave me an extra 2 attacks per round. I destroyed everything so quickly that it was laughable. Even in the end I only had to hit Malak maybe 3 times to deplete his energy every time. But his force power kept putting me in stasis. -
Its a decent game so far. The controls are ok and the story is completely unique. The vigor powers are pretty awesome.. magic in an FPS sounds odd, but it works out great. I must say this.. the controls do kind of suck tho. R3 is ADS.. circle is crouching. Running screws up your turning radius while running, noticeably. Shooting is R1, swapping guns is R2. Magic is L1, swapping magic is L2.. aside from being able to swap the L & R buttons from 1 & 2, there is no button mapping. R3 to ADS is a pain for me. I hate it when FPS games don't stick to the standard button layout. Even though I am getting used to it.. but I'm glad this is a single player game. This button layout for multiplayer would have been horrendous. (edit) oops.

I started playing this today because it was free on the PS3 with my plus membership.. I did not expect so much racism. Wow. The flying city looks amazing and the vigor powers are pretty cool.. but holy crap.. the racism.. wtf. This isn't really a spoiler here because you find out about this within the first 20 minutes or so of gameplay, but its like you are the FBI's most wanted and are being attacked by every citizen on a small flying country controlled by the KKK. Anyone else play this yet? What are your thoughts on it? I'm about 40 minutes in and I haven't gotten to Elizabeth yet.

Arnold's voice is a dead giveaway. The first so many seconds of that space jump looked like he was just floating there. Very surreal.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (spoilers)
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Thats an epic opening. I really liked KOTOR, I'll have to play that sequel at some point. I might start it just to see the beginning and get my character started. I also downloaded The Old Republic. I'll try it tomorrow to see how well it runs on my laptop. -
This game looks good, but I'm going to have to hold off until I can download a demo or free weekend trial to test it out to make sure it will run on my laptop. It looks like fun, but I hope it doesn't turn stagnant like the jet dogfights in BF4. btw, this game reminds me of Strike Suit Zero. I got that game in a humble bundle a few weeks ago and it kind of looks like a single player version of this, minus the cockpit view. (edit), maybe not.. most of Strike Suit Zero is in space with no debris to fly thru. It looks more like flying a gundam in space and shooting mobile dolls, while strike vector seems much faster paced.

I still haven't watched it yet. But it is subbed on netflix now so I don't have to download it. I'll watch some episodes and if it interests me I'll start reading the manga.
