Watch Dogs has a lot of potential. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Meryl is back in the game? I'll have to play this. I'll look for it on amazon. Oh.. and seeing as this is a battlefield topic.. (so off topic now, lol).. I played some BF3 tonight to get myself ready for the BF4 beta.. I got 4 more kills with my EOD Bot. I'm at 26 kills with it now.. I might just go for a service star with it.

Yep.. thats how it was on PS3 too.. the patches were gigantic. Whats really bad was being surprised by one. I was going to jump on and play a couple rounds of conquest one day just to find out the game had to update.. massive download.. Thats when I started following @battlefield on twitter and set notifications for their tweets. And I think half my hard drive is full of BF3 patches. I had to uninstall some other games because I was running out of room.

Speaking about possible console design issues, the PS4 has a flat top to it unlike the PS3.. I wonder if people will stack their PS3 or other consoles on top of it.. the PS4 could get overheated or possibly kick off enough heat to damage something stacked on it. Imagine a Wii sitting on a PS4 and bursting into flames from its awesome power. lmao.. but that would be so damn dangerous.

It could be a fun game, I'll definitely play it. I saw its on Steam Greenlight. Make sure you log into Steam and vote for it if you want to help spread its popularity. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=179340415&searchtext=hyper+light+drifter It has a kickstarter too thats still going: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1661802484/hyper-light-drifter

That controller is massive looking. You have a good point.. many people are bashing the xbox one for everything they possibly can now. Did you see where people are complaining about the green boxes they're being shipped in? I'm sure it'll be a great console, but people are bashing it like it was a sponsor of Paula Dean. If anything, its good that a warning about not standing the xbox one on it's side is coming out now before it becomes the new red ring of death complaint.

If only MS bought a single PS3 and disassembled it.. they could have learned everything about that amazing disc slot. lol.
-
If they were smart, they should have designed the console to not have flat surfaces on the sides.. they could have put some ridges on the ends or made it a curvature so people can't even try to stand it up on it's side. Instead they have to make an announcement like this.

Windows 8 might be saved and changed by Windows Blue
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Science & Technology
I'd be hesitant to use a rip of the OS, I've never used one before because I was too concerned about pre-loaded viruses. Some programs could be ok and if they are virused, you can uninstall them.. but if you upgrade your OS with a virus laden program, it could screw you. I could try upgrading it for you.. I wouldn't erase everything either.. laptops have way too many drivers for all their components. Wiping a laptop and then getting all those drivers and reinstalling everything could be very time consuming, not counting the numerous windows updates. It would probably take most of a day. You'd be better off getting some anti-virus and spyware apps running to clean up the system before the upgrade.- 18 replies

Theres no real consistency to the show. It feels like everyone is an actor reading well rehearsed lines as opposed to being the actual characters they're supposed to be portraying. No realism to me. Cool, do you have a favorite character yet? I'd probably say pass.. The first season was the best, not that much CG / special effects and it was focused on the group of human survivors. Season 2 was ok, but season 3 felt like they tried too hard and needed a better writer.

I hate that! Lmao! I've held off on using the bathroom on so many occasions while a cut scene is playing just to find out I could have paused it at any time.

I can see how that can be a very nice feature, especially considering the size of the DLCs.. It'd be nice if patches could be applied that way too.

Looks like it could be a fun quick game. I wonder if its using the same kind of game engine as Aquaria. Parts of the floating / moving aspects look very similar.

That will be nice.. I doubt I'll get a chance to try it out until I get a new phone with something better than Android 2.3. Google Chrome isn't even supported on my version of android.

Yes Hank.. Now that I've been watching Breaking Bad I can see how good of an actor he is. I still don't care much for his character on Under the Dome tho.. I honestly hope this series finishes in the second season. I don't see how they could introduce new characters at this point and the cast has shrunk quite a bit since the beginning.

Is there anything like the the Air Strike Gun from SR3 in GTA? Calling down a missile barrage was a blast.

I've only used android and from what I've seen of the newer android OS, its pretty damn nice.. btw, never get a motorola phone.. This is why I will never buy another Motorola phone I hate Motorola now.

I still haven't had a chance to play MGS4.. lmao, that is horrible. At least they gave everyone some health warnings. That reminded me of the Harold and Kumar dvd menu.. it was the only pointless screen I ever watched on purpose. It wasn't even loading anything, it was just the menu, but I went to get something to drink and I heard them b*tching on the menu and I kept watching. Found it! Games should have install screens that are entertaining like this.

I don't even know why people would use a controller attachment like that.. It looks uncomfortable, I'd assume any one part of it could break and the entire thing would be worthless.. My cat would probably attack it thinking it was a new toy for him. Any actual competitor that wants a noticeable advantage would be better off buying one of those attachments that allow keyboard / mouse gameplay on a console. Believe me when I say its a noticeable advantage on BF3. I have never used such a setup for my PS3 before, but when you get killed by some guy moving a tank turret ridiculously quick and accurate and has a k/d of 40/2 halfway through a match, theres something going on there.. Old controllers = my thumb bleeding from playing too much street fighter until a hardened steel callus formed on my thumb.. that callus was almost as strong as the one on my middle finger from writing so much with a pencil. New controllers = comfort and no bleeding thumbs. btw, this was the best controller for NES ever made: After I got one of these, the callus on my thumb slowly faded away.

I'm looking forward to that happening. If MS still has to defend that "PS4 50% more graphics" argument a year from now, they'll be screwed.

Ustream embedding now works. To embed a stream, click on the share link in the video and then click on the link icon to get the "Media URL copied to clipboard" message. Post that link and it will auto embed.

I'm going to assume its a current gen trailer.. but that brings up an interesting point to me. Out of all the upcoming games slated for release on both old gen and next gen consoles, it makes me wonder how they are being developed. It obviously looks like Battlefield 4 is maxed out for all the newer tech and the old gen systems will be getting a scaled down version.. but games like The Evil Within and Call of Duty Ghosts look like they were designed for old gen consoles and they'll be scaled up for their next gen versions, almost like watching a DVD on an up scaling blu ray player. The end result will look much better, but its not like the game was designed for the newer systems. Out of these cross gen games, I think they'll all look graphically better on the next gen, but aside from graphics, I'm not hearing much in terms of different features available for any of the cross gen games except for BF4's multiplayer. I have a feeling we won't see the full potential of the new systems for at least a year after their release... and I hope they stop the cross gen releases for major titles rather quickly.. if MS still has publisher sway for releases on Xbox 360, then all games could be getting capped at xbox 360 standards.

I'm thinking it was a PS3 issue. Some games seem to download fast based on my internet connection, but some games are ridiculously slow to download. Last of Us was probably the slowest digital download I've ever experienced. I don't know if its because the game was downloading from the Naughty Dog servers, maybe that was the problem. Most games download fully off PSN and then install, but there are some games that download a small install file, turn on and then download through the game.. like DC Universe, Defiance and Last of Us to name a few. I don't know if those games were downloading from their own servers or not.. but I hope they learned something from the Last of Us download bull crap.. I had to leave that game running almost 2 nights straight to finish downloading it. I'd have set it to download in the background but it would only download if the game was running. One nice thing was after it hit a certain percentage I could play the game while having it continue downloading in the background. The biggest problem with PSN is probably their store.. There has never been a consistent timely update. When they have games available digital on the day of release, people expect to get their pre-ordered game at midnight.. but no.. they don't get the store update done until 7 or 8pm sometimes. People could just go to the store, buy the game and beat it by the time the store updated. I'm going to assume they have a much better infrastructure in place for the PS4, especially considering all their claims about their Gaikai tech. That and since Sony is estimating 5 million units sold by the end of the year, they'll be experiencing a higher volume of constant users than Steam during a weekend.
