  1. Very good point, well said. I never liked the black outfits in the X-Men movies. I wanted them to be their original color schemes, except made out of good materials that would be somewhat practical.
  2. If anything I think its going in reverse. I have no interest in playing hand held game systems, but the damn game companies aren't releasing their hand held games on the regular consoles or on PC. Its like we're being forced to buy small screens just to play those games. I remember back in the day, Nintendo made the Super Game Boy. I could pop that thing into my Super NES and play any game boy game.. but now we have to wait for a hand held game to get rereleased on a different system like Kingdom Hearts 1.5

  4. It sounds very interesting and completely different from traditional anime. Very trippy. I'll probably pass on this tho because it'll probably give me a seizure.
  5. I mostly don't like Shia Labeouf and how the movies focus so much on humans.. but at the same time, the more I think about the old cartoon, I don't see how they could make a movie true to the original cartoon.. It'd be way too cheesy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qubc1sZTFSo I think its hilarious that Perceptor, transforms to see the far off distance object with his microscope.. lmao. the ships looks smaller in the distance than if he'd have just stood there and stared at them.
  6. I'm guessing they needed to change his transformation to fit the new plot. If anything, I think thats good, because how they did the first Robocop was great, just like Pchan described. If they tried to recreate that traumatic experience and didn't accomplish it, the reboot would be a failure. Very good point. Its more like hes a super soldier as opposed to being a robotic cop. The fact that he retains a human hand really emphasizes his humanity over machinery to me.
  7. I like that FMA makes prosthesis look like a completely normal part of life. I've seen many more people with prosthesis over the years and the more I notice them, the more used to them I become. Most of the ones I've seen are leg replacements. I think most are a result of IEDs in Afghanistan and Iraq.. and motorcycle accidents. If you wipe out on a motorcycle, those things will land on your leg and shred it off against the concrete. I think once the robot hand articulation becomes more effective, we'll see more automail style prosthesis in the future.
  8. That reminds me of Starship Troopers. If we did come across alien bugs, I don't think this robot looks enough like anything living to be offensive.. unless we come across alien robot spiders.. then they might try to kill us all.
  9. It all depends on the size of the room the TV is in. The larger the room, the larger the TV, but for normal sized living rooms and bedrooms, 40 inches or so is probably the largest anyone needs. If someone has one of those giant living rooms that are so large that a couch just floats in the middle of the room, than a larger TV would definitely be better because of the distance from the TV.

  11. I'm sure everyone has heard about this already, if not check the links below for the full information on the story: http://www.forbes.com/sites/gregorymcneal/2013/08/20/its-not-a-surprise-that-gmail-users-have-no-reasonable-expectation-of-privacy/ http://www.salon.com/2013/08/14/gmail_users_have_no_reasonable_expectation_of_privacy/ http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=219176873 It sounds like Google is saying that everyone's privacy is safe, except for the people that email gmail accounts from email accounts outside of google.. But wouldn't that imply that gmail user is having their incoming emails read and thus their privacy is being affected as well? The thing is, pretty much all email is insecure and people don't realize it. Whenever you send an email, it is on the server you sent it from and another copy of it is on the server it was received at. Key employees at whatever data centers those servers are located in, can access and read that email in its entirety. Emails can also be read by hosting companies, the hosting company's web host and up the chain all the way to the data center staff. The larger the corporation, the more employees that could potentially have access to your email. If you connect to a free wifi somewhere and access your email through a smartphone app that is not set for secure ssl connections, then any wifi network admin can access or log your email and any other user on that wifi system could technically access your email as long as they know how to do it. Email is not secure. All the companies that can access it have privacy policies just like google. All employees are restricted to accessing personal information and are only supposed to do it when assisting a customer with an issue. The shear bulk of email out there pretty much limits individuals from wanting to spy on you specifically, but with all these large companies data mining everything out there, I can see why people would be concerned about their data being used to profile them. From what I've seen, they don't just scan the one email when they display an ad on your page.. they give you massive storage space so it can scan all emails to target their ads for you. What do you think? Is google harvesting people's emails to add to their massive data mining operation? or are they only scanning your emails for advertisements? BTW, have you every used google maps? If you use it over the years then they know your address thats associated to your IP#.. clear your browser cache, delete all cookies, etc.. then go back to google maps, start typing your address and watch how quickly google remembers who you are. (then again, they might have changed this, I haven't tested it lately.)
  12. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/09/05/219367716/reports-nsa-has-keys-to-most-internet-encryption Wow.. The government is probably big data harvesting everyone's skype chats and outlook emails.. and if they have full access to SSL.. then all forms of secure internet connections like with banks, paypal, twitter and facebook accounts are meaningless to the NSA when they have someone targeted. I can understand the government needing tools to protect us against terrorists, etc.. but it seems like overkill. It makes me wonder what other countries are capable of.
  13. http://www.dvice.com/2013-8-30/nasa-wants-build-giant-spacecraft-3d-printing-spiders http://www.tethers.com/SpiderFab.html Thats pretty damn awesome. Once they get this up and running, NASA could build all kinds of things in space.. antennas, ships, moonbases..
  14. I like the trailer. It pays homage to the original Robocop design, but the all black look is a bit too ninja for me. lol. I do like that he is much more mobile.. hes not walking around like a tank.
  15. This looks like a true worse case scenario in space horror movie. Awesome, except for the nauseating spinning at the beginning.

I love the ending of that video! She put that Tardis everywhere. I found this video.. Optimus Prime needs this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjknaeJsFTA
  17. If I need or want to buy a new tv in the near future, I'll probably get a 1080p, because the price will be good because it'll be older tech. I'd hold off on getting any new tv that has a built in camera tho. I've heard too much about new WIFI tvs getting hacked remotely allowing people to access and record from the tv's camera to anywhere online. Screw that. Even with the Oculus Rift having 1080p now, at the distance it is to the human eye, the resolutions can still get vastly improved. Eventually display technology will max out to what the human eye can see and then the screen could be indistinguishable from reality. At a distance it does sound like 16K will accomplish this, but up close to a screen like how VR works, would need more time to be optimal. http://wolfcrow.com/blog/notes-by-dr-optoglass-the-resolution-of-the-human-eye/ Oculus Rift at 1080p will be displaying at 440 PPI, still far away from the 2190 ppi it'll need to be perfect. But I don't need perfect. From what I've read, the new VR is so damn impressive that I'd love to try it out myself. And from a distance, Ultra HD is pretty damn realistic: I don't know if that was a 4K or 8K tv, but damn that looks good.
  18. I didn't realize this at first, but even thought the Xbox will be out one week after the PS4 in North America, it will actually be releasing one week earlier than the PS4 in Europe.
  19. The Playstation 4 might be a better deal than we all thought if it ends up fully supporting Sony's newly announced Video Unlimited 4K service. Sony announced a standalone 4K media player today that will be retailing for $699.99. Keep in mind that Sony has previously announced that the PS4 will not play games in 4K, but it will play 4K movies and series. With this feature, it could be possible for the Video Unlimited 4K service to run on the PS4, possibly as early as sometime next year. Sony has Video Unlimited on the PS3, so it would only make sense for them to continue the service on their new console. If this reminds you of something, think back to when the PS3 came out. It was actually cheaper than, or the same price as many blu-ray players. Considering the PS4 will be retailing for $399.99, it could easily be the cheapest 4K player with downloadable access on the market if Sony allows it to run their 4K service. The biggest difference between the PS4 and Sony's $699 media player is storage. The PS4 will have a 500GB hard drive, while the media player is 2TB. However, the PS4's hard drive is upgradeable and the console will support external storage. The media player also comes with ten 4K movies preloaded onto it's hard drive. Each 4K movie will retail for about $30 a piece, thus driving up the cost of the player. Of course the required 4K Ultra HD TV is still too expensive of an upgrade for many people. With Sony's cheapest 4K TV starting at $3,499.99, the cost of the PS4 and media player are like loose change. I thought I'd share this information anyway because it looks like Sony will be leading the way with 4K and the PS4 might be their best chance at getting their 4K movie service into the mainstream. Sony has not announced if Video Unlimited 4K will be made available on the PS4, but it looks like a strong possibility. Until then, their 4K service will only be accessible on their new media player. 21. Like the guy was saying in the video.. they tweaked the system again.. literally at the last minute. They boosted the CPU again and finally started production: http://www.polygon.com/2013/9/3/4691770/xbox-one-cpu-gets-150-mhz-boost-console-in-full-production Xbox One CPU gets 150 MHz boost, console in 'full production' It makes me wonder if Sony is already making PS4s.. I would hope so considering their massive pre-orders.
  22. lmao. It wouldn't surprise me. But Google will have competition from Amazon too.. It looks like both companies might be joining the console market: http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/gaming/2013/08/12/amazon-video-game-console/2642307/ With Amazon's cloud servers being so damn powerful they could be real competition for Sony's Gaikai streaming tech.
  23. I saw that garbage day. lmao. And yeah, I'm the same way with BF3. I'll go for assignments solo, but if I'm in a good squad I'll go for my best. I could imagine D3 suffering.. I'm not even going to try streaming StarCraft 2. I don't think I'll have any problem streaming games my system can easily handle.. but on some parts of the SC2 campaign, my FPS was dropping down to 15.. and thats at lowest settings. I can't even run firefox in the background with that game, let alone trying to stream it.
  24. Thats a shame. It looked like it was going to be integrated into the kinect initially. I was really excited for it too. It was probably the main thing that got me excited about the new Xbox. Maybe next, next gen.
  25. From what I've found out.. my max bit rate was way to high. Xsplit recommended 2500+ and after having my bit rate set for 1100, I was able to stream 720 at 30 FPS with no dropped frames.. When I set it for 60 FPS I had a few dropped frames, but I didn't see any noticeable improvement in quality on twitch.. probably because of the low bit rate. Oh well. I think I have my settings finalized now. Try these: And download this small zip file to find out the best twitch server to connect to: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=326034 Even tho I'm on the east coast, my best connection was to their Dallas servers. And I had to make sure my laptop was hard wired connected because my wireless was causing all my disconnections. If anything, I'd recommend these settings to anyone.. If my i5 laptop can stream, then any newer computers should have no problem.. Now the only question is how much my internet upload rate accounts for this. I'm at 5mbps up.. if the time comes where I drop back down to 2 up, I'd probably have to drop the bit rate even lower but leave all the settings as they are. Gah.. now that I've got that done, I need to test some more games with it.
