Vikings - History Channel Original Series
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
Yep. The season ended very weak. I wish it ended on a high note, they could have left something in the back of everyone's minds about how epic Vikings was when season 2 goes to start. I just hope people start watching it again in a year, because I know I will.- 39 replies

EA Secures Exclusive Rights to Make Star Wars Games
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
I just hope that Disney doesn't go overboard with Star Wars. If they keep throwing new movies out ever year, people might get burned out on it. It sounds like cartel coins are the same as Bits in Defiance. I hate that.. obviously these in-game currencies are actual monetary purchases. I wish these games would just list the in-game currency alongside with the actual currency of the region you are playing on. That way regardless of what nation you are in, you can see the real value of the item you are buying and are not getting mislead with the in-game currency.- 25 replies

EA Secures Exclusive Rights to Make Star Wars Games

That Obi-Wan game sounded decent. They should. Looks like we won't see any new Star Wars games for at least a year from now: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/no-star-wars-games-in-fy-2014-ea-says/- 25 replies

I can't help but hear "All along the watchtower" along with seeing giant robots and not conclude that the Cylons are now allies of the Nazis. Still, I loved Wolfenstein when I was a kid. This is a remake thats been overdue for quite some time now. Click here to view the article

EA Secures Exclusive Rights to Make Star Wars Games
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
I forgot that TOR was made by EA/Bioware. I tend to stay away from many MMOs because of either monthly fees or ridiculous micro transactions. The major downside I see with EA making Star Wars games is the fact that at least 1 new game will most likely come out per year to match up with the movie releases: http://screenrant.com/new-star-wars-movies-episode-7-summer-release-date-2015/ If 1 new game comes out per year, then we should expect more rushed games. Damn that seems costly. Do you only have the one lightsaber in the game? Or can you get better ones that will also need an extra $2 just to maintain your character's look?- 25 replies

The movie looks interesting. I've never read the novels or comics and I have no expectations for this, so it should be a good movie for me.

EA Secures Exclusive Rights to Make Star Wars Games
Sledgstone replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
I didn't care much for Origin.. but I suppose all future Star Wars games for PC will require it now. I doubt they'll remove any previously released items on PS home. Even when EA created Origin and started releasing their games exclusively on it, they never demanded Steam to stop selling Battlefield 2 or any of its previously released products. I would assume that like with EA and Steam, Disney probably signed agreements with Sony and those products probably won't go anywhere. That and EA is going to be the publisher of all new games, that may not include all digital products. Those PS home items may not even be related to this deal at all. At least thats my guess. It could have been worse. Disney could have signed with Zynga and all future Star Wars games would have been facebook only.- 25 replies

So they sell the beverage but don't accept them back for the bottle deposit? So they have a recycle bin there for people to throw cans in but it doesn't pay out? Thats annoying.. I know there are some bottle redemption stores around here that I believe accept all bottles considering they don't sell any beverages themselves. I save most of my coke and beer cans in my basement all winter and then go to the store with a carload. They probably think I'm a serious alcoholic. Some grocery stores accept cans at their service desk if you have them boxed up in their cases, or if their machines are full. I was able to get a walmart and tops store to refund me my nickel for cans their machines rejected because they don't carry them (old bawls cans). I told the service desk person the machine wasn't reading the bar code. They looked at the 5 cent NY refund part and gave me my money without even checking the UPC on the can.

Next generation Xbox will be revealed on May 21

Thats really good news. For single player games it would have been an unnecessary limitation considering PS4, PC and all handheld systems allow offline gaming. They really got some bad press from that twitter guy with this issue. -

So busy this weekend. I don't think I accomplished much, but it was all time consuming. The garden looks great and we have a new fire pit!

Underwater does sound like it could be fun as long as there are new harpoon weapons.

The balancing in black ops 2 is horrible. When I was playing, half the time I'd kick ass or at least have an enjoyable game. Then 1/4 of the rounds was laggy as hell and I might or might not have done good.. and then the other 1/4 of the rounds was me getting my ass handed to me to the point of quitting out because it was so one sided and pointless.

I do like a large world to explore. I hardly played any Grand Theft Auto games.. as in maybe 20 minutes total. I didn't care much for the gameplay at the time.. Saints Row the Third was definitely fun tho.. but if GTA is like Saints Row, then the large map would be fun.. but at the same time.. I always thought it was so odd that you couldn't go into 98% of the buildings. I like being able to drive everywhere, boat around in the water and fly anywhere I want to go.. but its the little things that always grab my attention.. I can punch anyone to death in these games, but I can't break a deadbolt on a door and enter some random building.

I haven't played Mortal Kombat since MK2 on SNES. lmao. Some of the MK games have actually perked my interest, but by the time I had the chance or money to buy another game, something new has always drawn me in. I used to play the hell out of the multiple Street Fighter 2 incarnations.. but after a while 2D fighters just couldn't hold my attention. The last real fighter game I remember playing and enjoying was Soul Calibur 1 for Dreamcast. I still have that game too.. It was awesome at the time.

When you say it like that, yes.. they might as well run the games with company servers. The map selection process seems so stupid. I know COD is not BF.. but I love the server browser option with Battlefield. I can choose what maps I want to play and see what servers pop up in my list along with the map rotation / game mode for that server. But because COD doesn't have paid servers its this crappy map selection process that always takes place.. and after about 3 rounds, the person with the best internet connection quits out and the game freaks out for a minute or two while it migrates to someone else.

I think the game looks like it will be fun, but my biggest problem with one on one fighters is the repetition. Usually the same combos and moves are always done so many times it looses interest to me or it ends up pissing me off. Like the Zeus fight scene in God of War 3. All of a sudden the game turned into a 2D one on one fighter for one battle and Zeus kept doing the same damn combo moves, wtf. Anyway, have you seen Lobo in action? I was expecting his character to have more moves and show off some insane strength, but it seems like he mostly attacks with a chain and his gun..

It sounds interesting. If anything, controlling 3 characters at once reminds me of the strike missions in CoD Black ops 2. While those missions were ok, I don't think I'd be interested in playing an entire game switching between characters on the fly like that. It might work out, but I kind of prefer the custom single character with NPC backup members design of Saints Row the third.

I'd like to see the new game get rid of kill / score streaks. While its fun to get them, they overall seem pointless and as it rewards good players and campers with easy kills. If a player is already good enough to get the ridiculous amount of points necessary to get the higher level streaks, that guy doesn't need any extra advantages. Like you said, let it focus on the gun play. The only problem with that is the hit detection. I hope their new engine improves that.. as well as having their own servers. The lag compensation is stupid. Also, no matter what kind of round I'm playing every game feels like its a TDM round. It got boring after a while. But my biggest gripe with the game is the ridiculous spawning and map selection. It got so repetitive playing the same maps over and over because thats the only ones people would pick or the randomizer was crap.

I might buy the KOTOR games. $3 a piece on steam this weekend.

The Jedi Knight games are amazing... well I never played the 1st one. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy are very very good games. Way ahead of their time in saber combat. If those games are in that package. I recommend it. They are no where near as long as KOTOR, but they are action packed, and the story of Kyle Katarn is another favorite of mine.
-
Ohhh.. interesting. All three of the jedi knight games are in that game package.. hmmm.. I'll have to check them out.

lmao. So true, but that would be logical.. Maybe these monsters are so powerful, they need these mechs to punch the hell out of them as a means to deliver the biological weapons.
