Vikings - History Channel Original Series
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
Yeah. I feel for the characters.. but at the same time, that last episode just did not draw me in like in all previous episodes. The Sacrifice episode felt like a much more powerful episode than the finale.- 39 replies

Paint Your Own Touchscreen Computer Interface On Any Surface
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Science & Technology
It would be cool if this was applied to next gen consoles. Instead of needing a device that gives you a touch screen in the controller, an entire game map and inventory screen can be projected right onto a coffee table. That would be awesome.- 2 replies

Now thats a good phone. All these new features are horrible. Touchscreens? Screw that. I prefer the classics. lmao. At least new phones are something GG loves. I remember my first nokia. I was 18. That phone weighed probably 8 pounds. I still have it too!

What would be the purpose of a government staged marathon bombing? So many conspiracy nuts out there..

These phones are nothing compared to my old LG Rumour 2. It had a keyboard and it could text. Who needs apps and speakers!? pfft! pointless features! lol.. Its still hard for me to believe that was the phone I was using just 13 months ago.

Vikings - History Channel Original Series
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
The Walking Dead got massive ratings and people eagerly waited a year for new eps. Vikings ratings were good, but not stellar. With season 2 only being renewed for 6 episodes and we have to wait a year to see those 6 eps.. It better be a damn good 6 episodes to bring all the fans back to keep the series going. I just read this interview and it definitely makes me look forward to a second season: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/28/vikings-season-finale-season-2-all-change_n_3175975.html- 39 replies

Defiance - Current Episode Discussion
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I was not really impressed with this episode. I was hoping for more hellbug action, but instead over half the episode was Irisa's visions and sweaty naked men. The hellbugs looked good tho.. but I'm wanting this show to get some more action and pick up the pace a bit. GG playing a shooter was horrible. Within 15 minutes he went about 1-20. His one kill was because some guy's controller's battery must have died because he stopped abruptly and stood there as a target while GG unloaded 3 clips on the guy until a couple bullets finally killed him. And 10 minutes of his 15 minute gameplay was him staring into the sky while being stuck behind some barricade. The barricade was destroyed when he was exploded by a tank round. -
Vikings - History Channel Original Series
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I'm a bit disappointed with tonight's season finale. Ragnar downgraded to a woman who appears to be nothing like Lagertha.. in strength or appearance. His daughter is dead, Siggy's daughter is dead.. and there was no fighting. Ragnar seems to be going a bit crazy.. and we have to wait basically a year for a new episode. wtf. For a season finale, I was hoping the episode would have been a bit more epic. Rollo is a bastard so it doesn't surprise me that he would turn on Ragnar. However, in their mindset, Vikings were all about fame and passing on their heritage and title right? They have to get their names known. The best way to do that is to have power. Considering how everyone in power in this show has had to deal with killing off their brothers for their positions of power, it was only a matter of time before Rollo made a move. I feel bad for Bjorn. The more sons Ragnar has, the more likely scenario they'll all have to fight each other for a throne right? If anything, Ragnar would be better off not having extra kids.- 39 replies

Futurama Canceled - Again...
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
Definitely. Futurama is far better than all three of those shows. Family Guy and American Dad haven't been nearly that good in the past couple seasons. I'm surprised they keep getting renewed. But then again, Fox has tried adding new cartoons to their sunday lineup numerous times and failed in the ratings. Their latest one is Bob's Burgers. Honestly, I didn't care for it at first, but I prefer watching Bob's Burgers over Cleveland Show and Family Guy now.- 10 replies

Futurama Canceled - Again...
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
Thats true. I never knew when a new episode would actually be on. It used to be on the same wednesdays as south park. But with the large gaps of time between seasons, I never knew when to actually watch it. Even when there were new episodes, the lack of airing them consistently made the newer seasons blend in with the constant reruns of the previous seasons. I've seen every episode of Futurama and with it being on netflix I had no desire to watch the constant repeats on their channel and it would result in me missing the new eps I'd actually want to watch. I wouldn't necessarily say the network purposefully set the series for fail, but you don't see Fox airing 3 reruns of simpsons on a wednesday night and then throwing a new ep into the mix every other week. Futurama could have succeeded better if they actually dedicated a time slot for it.- 10 replies

Nice. I've been waiting for a game of the year style collection. I might actually buy this game now.

I figure Blackberry is probably too late into the app market. The amount of apps available for iphones and android phones is huge. It makes me wonder how many developers will bother making their apps to now work on 4 different OS platforms. Even now some developers are only making apps for iphone and ipad. But with apple's profits falling, I wouldn't be surprised if more development is put into android apps now. Blackberry will probably be the nintendo of cell phones, possibly getting new apps but most likely having them cancelled because of low profit margins or compatibility issues.

lol. Speaking of Blackberry, do you think the new Blackberry Z10 is going to be any good? Or is blackberry only a novelty phone now?

Ah.. Verizon and all their Droid named phones. I hope they have a good selection when I go to upgrade because I'm definitely not going to own another Motorola phone.

When I go to upgrade I'll probably be stuck with a Galaxy S4.. I'm on Sprint now, but I will be upgrading to Verizon. I say upgrading instead of switching, because Verizon has almost a complete monopoly on my area. I'm sick of paying for Sprint and having no access to their network while at work. AT&T is supposed to have good coverage in my area, but I can't take the chance and sign up with them and then find out I have no service at work. I don't know anyone at my work that has anything other than Verizon because its apparently the only provider that actually has service inside my office. Maybe when I upgrade in about a year, Verizon will have the HTC one by then.. or maybe the next years newest phones.

No Nintendo Press Conference at E3 hurts which more?
Sledgstone replied to Myk JL's topic in Video Games
That makes sense. While I blame Nintendo for not taking the initiative for promoting their own goods, the target audience attending isn't even interested in their product.. so I suppose it does make sense for them not to step into the spotlight. It still a shame tho. Nintendo used to be a primary competitor. And now they can't even get people to understand what their primary product is: -
I watched the first movie tonight. That was pretty damn good. Although that scene with Bruce Willis walking out of the car right after it was hit.. while badass.. was a bit implausible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYBM8VsxHEg

Next generation Xbox will be revealed on May 21
Sledgstone replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
The HDMI in port sounds very intriguing: http://kotaku.com/the-next-xbox-may-have-an-hdmi-in-port-so-472235857 I could see that working out in interesting ways. Maybe while a show is on, the system will realize what you are watching and potentially feed you new information based off it. Maybe during commercial breaks you could switch over to another app or game and have the system auto switch you back when the show resumes? Maybe the Xbox could act as a separate DVR system that doesn't charge you a monthly fee? It'll be interesting to see Microsoft's announcement.
