  1. Elf or valkyrie definitely sound like the best options. I downloaded this but haven't tried it yet. My brothers are also planning on playing it at some point. I read that shortly after the beginning of the game the mobs that spawn don't scale well for solo play and its a more enjoyable game with at least 2 or more ppl in the party.
  2. The problem with the handheld games is that their graphics are getting better over time too. I know Nintendo is in no rush to compete graphically but eventually hand held systems will have enough processor power to give us flashy graphics and console style rpgs. How long do you think it will be before turn based games are completely negated even on hand held systems in favor of fps style rpgs? There is obviously still a huge fan base for turn based rpgs and I'm glad steam is finally getting them because if PC doesn't get these games then eventually they'll die out.
  3. If DICE put a paywall on Battlefield like how Bungie did to Destiny, it would ruin Battlefield. BF DLC introduces new weapons into the mix that are only accessible with that dlc, and there are always balance issues that are quickly addressed, but they never outright negated older weapons to be significantly weaker to force everyone to buy the DLC to stay competitive like Bungie does with Destiny. Hell, DICE has done so great with Battlefield, they're releasing a second free dlc map for BF4 without charging for it. And the population is still strong over 2 years later. And the most Bungie has done for core Destiny players with no DLC is open the reef to them so they can see the different npcs that wont sell anything to them, and gimp every weapon and armor they have 3 different times as punishment for not buying the multiple DLCs. I'll take a step back about my pre-order comment. I will still preorder some games, but only single player offline ones. The new final fantasy 15 coming out in 2016, FF7 remaster. Yeah, I'll be buying those regardless so if there is a good preorder bonus I'll do it. But online only games with no campaigns or hardly any info on campaigns, no. I won't preorder those. I'm looking forward to the Division and everything I've seen about it looks amazing to me. But its been delayed repeatedly, I haven't seen any info about how long the campaign will take or if it can be done solo offline (I think they said it could be unless that has changed), and I've seen the preorder for the division go down as cheap as below $40 during some promotions already (not reputable downloadable key companies imo). With the preorder for it already being on sale and its not even out yet, I worry that we're getting a Destiny style hype again.
  4. I have a new appreciation for Warrior's Berserker specialization in PvE mode. It sucks horrible in pvp but now that I'm using a high dps build its insane how much dps I'm doing in fractals now. Every basic attack is basically 20k hit aoes at a minimum not counting my zerker bursts. XD

  5. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic for this game. I know quite a few ppl didn't care for the FFXIII games, but I thought they were pretty good even though the game was very streamlined. If they do the same to FF7 and stream line the content a bit more I'd actually prefer that in a sense. While I loved having full world freedom, I did miss quite a bit of content on my first couple play throughs of FFVII. With today's gamers, theres not many ppl that will replay a game a second time to get that extra bit of dialog or to see an extra cutscene they missed. Unless they are trophy hunters or they don't want to watch that 30 second scene on youtube. The one thing they better not do with this game is break off the story and content into microtransactions. They did that with FFXIII games and that is bullshit imo. If the FF7 Ruby and Emerald fights aren't in the base game and get added as DLC after all the episodes or whatever is released I'll be pissed. [ edit ] I forgot to say this.. I miss good turn based RPG games. Sure I could get some on steam but for years now they've still been made by big companies but only release them on hand held systems I don't own. With low budget indie games on the PSN store, I really want some of these RPG games released on the Vita or PSP to be playable and purchaseable for my PS4. I don't want to buy a PSP or Vita or DS, but I want these rpg games. The Playstation TV was basically a glorified PSP machine for the TV and it flopped. Nobody wants to keep buying extra hardware for games. These companies that release on hand helds should release on all the major consoles and PC too. They'd get much more sales than just limiting it to hand held systems. And even tho Nintendo loves to make gameboys with touch screens, dual screens, etc. to make the games unplayable on any other system. I've seen emulators for years that easily include the functionality and games with no need for extra hardware.
  6. If I ever get burned out on the trend of AAA games I have plenty of games in my steam back log to fall back on. Destiny going to microtransactions is the first step. Once they get a huge amount of items for sale I bet the game will go F2P sometime after Destiny 2 has been on the market for a while. Bungie is pulling the same crap Trion Worlds did with Defiance. I bought Defiance when it came out. It was bug ridden but at least the world was big and it was easy to play with friends and the campaign was bigger then Destiny's. They had numerous events over the year I played it but I never bought the DLC and after they finally finished up their new microtransaction store and fixed the majority of the bugs that have been there since launch, the game went F2P. It was like a slap in the face. The difficulty of mobs increased with each DLC and weapons up to 10x more powerful than what I had, and were needed for these basic mobs, could only be purchased with currency available from DLC missions. The mobs were so powerful that I didn't have a chance in hell of actually enjoying it anymore unless I bought the DLC that wasn't included in the F2P base game that I owned. In the end it felt like me and everyone else who actually paid money for the game at release, paid for an unfinished product and their end goal was to make it a f2p microtransaction game all along. Games like that should be a kickstarter with early access, not a AAA game in a late beta for $60. With Destiny's TTK sales most likely flopping and hard core players getting burned out, Bungie is going to the same conclusion Trion Worlds did with Defiance. Huge microtransactions, paywalls and eventually f2p to lure in more ppl into their microtransaction store like WoW, STO and GW2 did. It already feels like we all basically kickstarted Destiny with preorder sales and that making this game was all just a big experiment on Bungie's part. Its one of the primary reasons I don't pre-order games anymore. Same with Star Wars Battlefront. I was going to preorder it, but I didn't. Turns out it has bugs and features missing that I want. Its already dropped to $40 on sale at gamestop today so I'll probably buy it for that price tomorrow, but if I can deny any company that makes incomplete or beta quality games $20 or more, then I will. I refuse to kickstart AAA games anymore thru preorders unless its literally thru kickstarter.
  7. If the sequel is a time skip so we can pretty much forget about all the plot of Destiny 1, I might be interested. But either way I won't pre-order it or a DLC package. I'll wait for reviews for the campaign first before I buy another Bungie product.
  8. http://www.polygon.com/2015/12/8/9871646/destiny-bungie-dlc-microtransactions-taken-king-year-two No more DLC for Destiny. I bet taken king didn't sell at all like they thought it would and whatever work they were doing on new raids and DLC will get bundled together and be sold as Destiny 2.
  9. I was thinking about this again this morning and I completely forgot FF7 originally came out for PS1 on 3 disks. Even tho the game was technically broken up into 3 disks it didn't take away from the overall freedom at all. Seeing as the game will be a complete remaster and many scenes and locations are so unique, this game will probably be a massive chunk of hard drive space. Maybe they have to break the game up into chunks to save space like how the original game was on 3 disks. With all this work, instead of milking everyone for 10 episodes, it'd be great if they sold the game as a solid 1 price and then reuse those game assets to make sequels. With FFXIII-2, and 3 and FFX2 and 3, I wouldn't be surprised if they make 2 follow up games for FF7. And I'd play the hell out of those.
  10. Wtf. They better not screw this up now. And if it's getting broken up in chunks then there goes the open world non linear aspect of the game once you get the airship. if they plan on making it into 3 chunks like starcraft they better make this game amazing. But if they split it up into 5-8 hour episodes like a tell tale game they'd need probably 10 episodes. And that would be milking the hell out of everyone.
  11. I bet it'll still be a 3 party system. That first fight in the trailer was only Cloud and Barret just like in the original. The third party member to join is Tifa shortly after that boss fight if I remember right. One of the things I want them to keep more than anything is the airship freedom. FF13 and FFX games were so linear that you didn't even have full airship controls. You could only go from point A to point B. FF7 let you fly the airship all over the planet and go anywhere at any time once you got the ship. One of the coolest things in the game was getting a chocobo ranch, breeding chocobos and then having a pen for them on your airship. You could land in a field and disembark on your chocobo and travel thru forests and over mountains to get to areas your airship can't land at. You need the ultimate golden chocobo to get the Knights of the round summon. I bred so many chocobos. I would always release the down syndrome ones from all my in breeding out in the wild just like this comic. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=72
  12. Those guys looked pretty damn cool. I skimmed thru the fight. That guy stood there and face tanked the hell out of that guy. I'm so used to dodging and evading in GW2 I kept expecting the guy to start doing some acrobatics to avoid some of those attacks. The gambit system from FFXII worked great. I wasn't a fan of it at first but it really grew on me. Being able to make a pre-defined AI strategy for NPC allies was great. It was like being able to program them completely and at any point you could pause the action, take control of them and issue commands. I was disappointed that complicated gambit programming wasn't an option in the FFXIII games. You had to deal with whatever the AI would do based on having them set as medic or assaulter or whatever those basic options were. But we were able to control any of the characters which was nice, except I don't think you could swap to them on the fly in a match. If FF7 is based off FFXIII I'd be ok with that as long as we could swap to characters in mid fight to control them. If not then the challenge end game bosses like the omega weapon would probably be impossible.
  13. This looks amazing to me. I'll play the hell out of it. The trailer shows highlights from the first 10-20 minutes of the game. I've seen it plenty of times through my numerous play throughs in the past and I'm quite impressed with the way its been changed. That trailer doesn't show anything about materia or all the characters. If its truely real time combat then the other party members must be controlled via AI like in most of the new FF games. As long as they give us the option to swap to other characters to time combos or choose when to use their limit breakers, I'll be pleased. I want to see what the summons look like. Knights of the Round better be in this game too. Limit Breaks: Omnislash was the shit. And Ultima Weapon was the best sword ever.
  14. Pretty much that. As everyone got older we got to busy. Reddit, Facebook, Twitter has the majority of all old forum users now. I don't have nearly the time I used to for my websites either. I used to spend hours each day just on AC. But for me it got to the point that I had nothing new to discuss about anime or games anymore because I didn't have the time to actually watch our play anything while still doing updates on my sites and managing hosting. I scaled back alot. Got rid of hosting years ago and only do occasional updates now. I do have a rather significant update coming to AC, but I'm still waiting on some bug fixes before I upgrade the core software I'm using. Forums were huge back in the late 90s and early 2000s but now you can go on reddit and find hundreds of ppl talking about specific animes series. Reddit really did in the forums as far as I'm concerned. I still want to keep AC going and I have some plans for it but I doubt we'll see any kind of popularity like we used to have back in the day.
  15. This trailer gives away just about everything. So many spoilers. x_x This is my take on the trailer, in spoilers in case anyone wants to skip the trailer:
  16. This makes me so happy. 12 years later and it might finally get an ending.
  17. Kill streak bonuses = camping and no objective game play. If I was playing CoD I'd rather play tdm too since that's how almost everyone plays every game mode anyway.:/
  18. I just ordered the logitech G710 from Bestbuy for $49 and free shipping. I had no idea it was on sale all weekend and I kept refreshing the page all day for it to become available for shipping again. I got it mostly for my work. I type around 90+ wpm and since I started working from home a couple months ago the keyboard i'm using now is already getting beat to hell.

  19. My older brother finally bought a ps4 and a bunch of games. Until I get battlefront the only game I have that we can pay together us bf4. Got 3 or so rounds of conquest in and holy crap I forgot how fun that game is. I'm be on bf4 more often now.

That's the problem he'll face being low level. If he doesn't mind the same map over and over get him into a Metro only server with 400% tickets. It's an awesome way to level quickly but you'll have to contend with 130's and above. It's all I play now when I get on

Ah that's a good point. I'll get him in one of those rounds next time.

  20. But will people actually play the objective?
  21. *resurrects 5 year old topic* From my perspective.. I have never played a halo game or know anything about it's story. I watched this anime yesterday and even tho it wasn't that great. In less than 2 hours I got a story that was far more compelling than anything I experienced in over 100 hours of Destiny gameplay. Bungie was capable of creating lore like this at one point and watching this emphasizes how bad they dropped the ball on Destiny in comparison to Halo.
  22. I read about the civil war comic book plot line briefly when I first heard about this potential movie a year ago. It didn't sound that great to me. I have a feeling this movie will be about as good as Iron Man 3 and finish off the potential for any more Captain America stand alone films. But then again, it could surprise me.
  23. Holy crap. Two games I actually want for a change.
  24. I read some reviews and I see some ppl are contemplating that this will be the next titanfall. Popular at first and then lose alot of interest. What do you guys think? Does battlefront have lasting appeal?
  25. I didn't understand the partner system in the beta. I could partner with a friend but only if I was in a PSN party with them. But if I didn't partner with anyone, somebody would some how get partnered with me even though we weren't in a party. There were times I wanted to change that default partner to somebody else that had no partner but actually knew what they were doing but there was no possible way to do it. x_x It looks like the servers work the same way like in BF4, nobody ever gets swapped around and by the time you join a match the winning team is always full and are the same hard core guys that have already been playing on the same team for a consecutive 9 hours. Are the hero spawns supposed to be random? Or is there a pattern or a specific point amount / time of the match that causes the hero spawns? btw I found out I'll be getting this game for christmas.
