For me, at least, it's always music. I have fifteen playlists on Media Player that ae all different mixes for working on story's. Like you, Lady, the list depends on the peice I'm writing. If it's a general area, like BG, it's just a general mix; E Nomine(a German techno group) for the creepier scenes, etc...My music is so varied, that it'd be a waste of time to list it all. As for the TV, I just can't have it on when I write, I think that the dialouge is too distracting. How that changes with the lyrics to music, I dunno, but it is different for some dumb reason.

These are great! X'D My cat has done all of these at least once! The bad part though, is that there is a good portion(Meaning all but about three of them) that instigate my cat getting a bath. The only reason the other three don't get he rin trouble is because she doesn't do them. My cat has better ways to get under my skin, though...I'd post 'em, but one never knows how many cats could be reading my posts over their owners shoulders right now...

Yeah...well, now that Sledge has posted a preview of the next installment, I'll be looking for it to be here soon...If it's close to done, that is.
-
Well, at least I didn't have to break out The Face. Thanks again, Lady!
-
WOW. It's...their...--...WOW.
-
Holy shit! Those are awesome! I just finished the third one, and I loved them! I thought that you said you weren't sure how to grip Sesshomaru's charater? You did wonderful IMHO. I am looking forward to the next chapter!
-
I'm glad that so many are looking forward to this!!! I'm getting excited, because it is going rather well for me, I'm hoping that WB won't rear its ugly form, though... On to my next question: I know that Japan had a widely diverse religios span of practice, and this may(or may not, this idea is set a tad ahead of where I'm at) become important. If someone would pleeeaaassseee look up a graph that shows that demographic, I'd really apriciate it. *puppy dog face* Please? Don't make me break out The Face!
-
Shit, like I could ever be mad at you. You have yet to say anything to actually even irritate me. Good luck with that next installment! For the record, my favorite weapons are either swords or Long range rifles.
-
I'm sure that it isn't that bad...At least, not as bad as mine can get.
-
If it works...Personally, if a story was originally started to be a short, that's how they stay...I think you loose character depth if they were ment to be a short use persona...
-
The best thing I can really say is to look at 'em from a new light, and not from their original idea. It may turn out that the story has the potential that you think it does, just not in they way you thought at first...Give it a go, 'cause you never know!
-
It never hurts. This one is one that started as a comedy about 5 years ago. All I kept was the characters and setting, that's it. You'd be amazed what dead time can do for a story...
-
Try taking another look at it. You may find that it, and the others it's with, may have a new spark that you may be able to work with. Just give it another go, you may be pleasently suprised by the results...
-
Good! To take yor phrase, from one writer to another...I wouldn't mind reading what you have written. I always look forward to the writings of others, I like to think that it gives me reason to write for myself, and the enjoyment of it.
-
Good luck with that...I hope that they all turn out like you are hoping!

Why not? All a good horror story is, is the things that frighten you, or have frightened you, in a written down, mentally physical form. If there is anything that you are afraid of, you can write a horror story, you just have to permit your mind to dreadge up the emotions and thoughts that ran through you at the time. Tell ya' the truth, I've nearly scared the crap out of myself about 50 times in the past 20 minutes alone. I'm not gonna be able to read this story for a few days after I finish it...(Thanks for the cookie, btw...)
-
*dies with a scream of pure, bloody terror* That's not very nice...
-
Thanks, Kuwabara. I can thank HC18 and Cammy for the great job on them.

Just a peice of friendly advice to all the resident writers: If you are writing a horror story, and you live in a slightly drafty home, that tends to creak a lot, or make other odd sounds--don't. I've got myself jumping at regular intervals because of all the lore that I've had to research for this story. I've got myself so psyched out right now, if someone was to knock on the door, I'd prob'ly die right here at the computer... Ugh, I think that it's time to stop for the night...

Not to reveal too much, the story is about a Spirit Hunter...Kinda like Yusuke, but in his own fashion. The idea came to me when I was reading a Stephen King book and then again, more strongly, tonight as I was listening to music. I'm hoping that the fear that this story raises for me(those that know me a little better might know why) is felt by the readers. This is really, my first horror story.
