The worst choice I ever had to make
Dubird replied to HKofsesshoumaru's topic in Rants and Raves / Issues
Personally, I think CPS is wrong. Call the police. Maybe getting arrested and thrown in jail will get her the help she needs. -
To be honest, I don't see it. It looks like you have a darker patch of carpet, that's all.

i remember that one!! wow, talk about memory lane.....

FAA says bird not to blame for dent in plane nose
Dubird replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
I do believe intelligent life exists beyond our solar system. However, I think they'd have better things to do than hang around and buzz Earth. Plus, I gotta say, all the conspirsy theorys about how aliens are responsible for our culture and all that (like they built the pyrimids) is something I find a little insulting. That's basicly saying that humans are NOT capable of coming up with good, unique ideas for themselves. We might have picked up a few things from crashed technology, but I like to give us a little more credit than saying that humans got all our technology and culture from aliens. -
FAA says bird not to blame for dent in plane nose
Dubird replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
Yeah, some poor alien teenager is back home now trying to explain to his parents why there's a big-ass dent in the front of his dad's ship. "Honest, Dad, I don't know what happened!" -
I could've sworn I posted about this. Anyhoo, saw it opening weekend and LOVED it! It's so nice to see a good movie come out of Hollywood with an original way of doing something.

Well, take phpBB3 for example. The CSS file for that is so incredibly complicated, and the actual coding for the layouts even more so. It took me months to figure it out, and by then, I had pared it down quite a bit. However, with phpBB2, I can edit the header and footer files with tables and sizing, edit the CSS file for my colors and images, and boom! it's done. I'm not saying I won't learn things that come out, but I do tend to stick with what's simple and what works. At this point, that's tables for the layouts, CSS for the colors, and PHP/MySQL for the data. It's simple, it's clean, and I don't have to spend hours updating or changing anything.
-
Which is why I'm still using tables for the base layouts. Sure, people complain "oh, that's so old", but my websites work cross browser, and theirs don't. So there, bitches. Don't get me wrong, I do use an awful lot of CSS, but it's so much easier just to use tables for the actual layout than trying to use CSS b/c you have to include all kinds of tricks for it and it's a big pain in the ass.

Check out some of the local big name dealers. Most of them have a good used car reselling programs, and you'll get a safer deal that way. I recommed Honda, because they do a good job checking any used Hondas and fixing problems or at least telling you what future problems are. If you get a used car, get a Carfax report, and ask to see any maintenance records, if they exist. Registration depends soley on the state you live in. In Arkansas, it was around $40. In Texas, it's $140 b/c Texas doesn't figure state income tax. *rolls eyes* Insurance will also depend on where you are, how old you are and what you're driving. Also, Arkansas doesn't have state inspections and Texas does, so check on that too. If you have a driver's liscence from another country, check with the DMV (or whatever it is up there) to see if it will be legal for you to use it! I don't know how that all works, you may have to take a driving test for where you're at.

ok, this is weird.....i'm doing a cd cover and case design for someone...they want the FBI anti-piracy seal on it...blah, but that's what they want....well, apparently, it's illegal to use it unless you're an actual member of the RIAA or the MPAA (plus some other software organizations).....so, the seal saying it's illegal to copy this guy's music is actually illegal for him to use....... I just found that really bizzare. "Oh we have a seal reminding people it's against the law to copy your music, but you're an independant producer so you LOSE!!"

All eye doctors are going to err on the cautious side of contact care to cover their own butts in case something happens to you. If you're worried about letting your eyes breath, they do make ones that allow that. The focus dailes do, which is why I switched to them. My eye doctor at the time was concerned my eyes weren't breathing b/c they were a little swollen, so he had me try them. And after a week, my eyes were perfectly fine, so that's what I stay with. *shrugs* As long as you clean them once a week, change them when you're supposed to, and you don't have problems with dry eye, you should be fine.

I have slept with mine since I started wearing them 12 years ago, and no problems on this end. If you take care of them and go in once a year for a checkup, the risk of problems is very very low.

Ok, not really, but it's first thing that came to mind when I saw this article. after all, with a name like 'atom-smasher', what else would you suspect? So according to that article, we shouldn't be worried about global warming, nuclear winter, massive war, or Mother Nature coming up and kicking our asses. Simply turning this machine on will doom the Earth. Scientists refute this claim, saying it's just reproducing what happens in nature. But panicked media say differently! So, go ahead and enjoy your eco-damaging SUVs, because in August, it'll get sucked into a mini black hole anyways! [note, look for some form of above paragraph on random news parody sites] *LOL*

they shouldn't slip at all....if they are, need to get that checked....and yes, it does get eaiser to put them in each time....first week i had them, it sometimes took 5 or 6 tries to get them in...lol...

I heard that they idea for the Captian America movie would deal with his origins in WW2, which I think would help it off-shores a lot.

I use Focus Dailies, and i love them...much more comfy than Acuvue were, and my eyes aren't as light-sensitive.... and i sleep in mine...i don't take them out to clean them as often as i should, but much prefer contacts...it's worth it to be able to wake up to 20/20 vision, have perferial vision again, and not have my glasses fog up with temperature changes....

if she's healthy enough, yeah, she could handle child birth...but i don't blame her for not wanting to...this is one of the types of situations where i support abortion.....

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It just looks like an evil laugh.

it's only about $900 an eye here at most places....granted, if you have some special condition like astyigmatisim, then it'd be more, but it's gone way down over the past 5 years....

yay, congrats! Now, it's time for you a Lady to make that road trip down here!

No, definatly stay with soft. Hard lenses are now more expensive anyways. Did you get the disposables that you can sleep in? They're perfectly safe as long as you clean them about once a week and change them when you're supposed to. And if you, get the ones that let your eyes breathe. I ended up having to change to them b/c my eyes weren't getting enough oxygen, and they're much more comfy!

I didn't see what the twist was, to be honest. Seriously. I'm used to most of his movies having a "holy CRAP" moment, but this one didn't. The hints were so heavy in the beginning that I knew what was going to happen, so there was no twist, not "holy CRAP" moment for me. Though, there was one scary moment, but I knew it was coming, just not the form of it. And I figured out pretty early who was going to survive, so that was no surprise for me. *shrugs* Whatever the twist was, he put too many hints into the movie early on because it was easy to guess what was going on.

actually, no....there's not really a twist....goofy semi-answer, but no twist
