http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=26829 Warners Prepare For Mortal Kombat Flawless victory unlikely Source: Bloody Disgusting Prepare for the return of Johnny Cage and Liu Kang, Raiden and Subzero and Scorpion and Baraka: Warners are looking to resurrect the moribund Mortal Kombat franchise. Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Oren Uziel, whose script for Shimmer Lake made the prestigious Hollywood Blacklist of buzzy screenplays (despite remaining unmade) has been brought in to prepare a draft of what would appear to be a reboot, and not the previously mooted MK3: Devastation. While the games remain popular, the same can't be said for the film franchise to date. Paul WS Anderson's 1995 original bashed some of the right buttons and did decent business. But any goodwill it generated among the fanbase was undone two years later by Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, which replaced Christopher Lambert with James Remar in the silver Raiden wig, giving the most embarrassed-looking performance in the history of anyone ever. If this new one happens, we suggest it does a lot more than hitherto to bring some of the mad craziness that characterises the games. We want to see Noob Saibot, for no other reason than we find his name inexplicably amusing, and we expect some babalities and animalities in there. Otherwise, we ask, what's the point? Or perhaps we just ask that anyway. why is all i ask,,....

New show The series follows the life of Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a unique private contractor, bodyguard and security expert hired to protect his clients. He protects his clients by completely integrating himself into the lives of the client, to become the human target. Chance is accompanied by his business partner Winston (Chi McBride) and hired gun Guerrero (Jackie Earle Haley Rorschach from watchman). He puts himself on the line to find the truth behind the mission.[3] Even his own business partner Winston doesn't know what drove him towards this life – becoming the human target.[4] James Bond Meets Jack Bauer decent effects and acting but it wont change your life, but it is worth watching as it is entertaining

Final Fantasy I and II coming to iPhone Square Enix has announced that both Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II will be coming to the iPhone and iPod touch later this year. Originally released on the NES back in 1987 and 1988, both games have been revamped to feature touchscreen controls. The first game's plot revolves around four warriors working to rebalance the elements of a world out of kilter, taking down a "nefarious entity" that's screwing around with time. The second game features another four warriors, this time working to defeat a "malevolent emperor" who's summoning demons. Demons are never good. Both titles have been improved a little for their iPhone and iPod touch debut - in addition to the touchscreen controls there'll also be additional dungeons that weren't present in the original games, and bonus content that can be accessed when you've completed the main game. So far, there's no release date or price, but there is a website, Facebook page and Twitter feed. Keep an eye on all three of those, and Pocket-lint obviously, for more news as it breaks. hmm, wonder if 3-9 will go

http://scifiwire.com/2010/01/were-all-joes-here-new-gi.php New animated versions of G.I. Joe and Transformers are coming soon to a television near you, courtesy of Hub, Discovery Communications and Hasbro toy company's new cable brand for children's programming. The announcement came Thursday in Pasadena, Calif., at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, where Hasbro Joint Venture president and CEO Margaret Loesch said she is now president and CEO of the Hub network, which is replacing Discovery Kids. "Absolutely, we look forward to it," Loesch said in an interview. "They've got some engaging characters, some great stories, and it's really sort of come full circle. When we were producing the shows years ago, we knew that we had something special with some of those programs. It's fun to reinvigorate them now, reinvent them and come back and bring new programming." The move is spurred, no doubt, by the recent success of live-action blockbuster movies based on the longstanding toy franchises. Hub may be a kids' network, but if you raced home from school to watch G.I. Joe and Transformers, you know you still watch them now that you're a so-called grown-up. "I think you'll like what we're doing, because creatively what we're trying to do is embrace what was done previously—the mythology and the legacy—but also take it forward with some new characters and then sort of digging deep a little bit into the existing characters and revealing more about them," Loesch continued. "I think you'll be very happy. Look, one of the things I worry about most are those die-hard fans that write me and say, 'Don't ruin it.' So we're not going to ruin it. It's going to be really good." They're happy to have you watch, too. The network targets children aged 6-12 as their main demographic, but they hope and expect to have entire families watching Hub shows together. "This is for kids and their families," Loesch said. "We really think that there's going to be some broad appeal. Clearly, from a content perspective, we don't want to air anything that's inappropriate for kids age 6-12, but is the storytelling going to be engaging for you and me? Absolutely. When we sit in a room and write stories, we're doing it to entertain ourselves. We're trying to challenge our own imaginations. That's why I don't think we'll disappoint the old fans, we won't disappoint the teens." You may get to see the old episodes of Hasbro shows, too: Hub is also pursuing syndication deals. "Our head of acquisitions has just come on board," Loesch said. "We're talking to all the studios. We're talking to producers. We're even talking to other Discovery channels to see if they have product that isn't on for whatever reason, if they changed their positioning. There might be some product we should take a look at." Loesch said she has approximately 24 new shows in development. She expects to announce some of the titles in the summer hmm, i hope it is written with the same seriousness as x-men

http://scifiwire.com/2010/01/priest-is-a-future-wester.php Director Scott Stewart and actor Paul Bettany had so much fun working together on Legion that they teamed up again for Priest, an upcoming futuristic vampire story based on a Korean comic book. In the movie, Jedi-like warrior priests battle vampires in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that's like the Old West. Thing is, the comic book wasn't a future story and didn't deal with vampires; rather, it was set in the actual Old West, and its main character, the immortal priest Ivan Isaacs, instead battles fallen angels. That might seem like a big change, but Priest creator Hyung Min-woo doesn't mind. "Min-woo came out and visited us over the summer," Stewart said in a group interview last week in Los Angeles. "He'd read a translation of the script and came out and was really, really pleased with what he saw. We talk about the graphic novels as being the past, and [the film version of] Priest is kind of the future." In the movie, the fallen angels are now vampires, but otherwise the graphic novel is the film's history. If that doesn't make sense, the graphic novels are even making adjustments to bridge the gap between literature and film. "You'll see: Tokyopop, with Min-woo, created a continuation" comic series, Stewart said. "He had 16 books, but it was kind of a soap opera with no ending. It never continued, so you don't know where the story goes. And now there are new stories that will be coming. You'll see how that story dovetails with ours. The Ivan Isaacs character in the Priest comic book is the first prototype Priest. The characters in our movie are what came much later, when the Priests were trained by the church to be like Ivan Isaacs." The Priest comic In the movie, Bettany stars as a character simply named Priest. "It's a very different story for me [from Legion]," Bettany said. "It's a hugely different character in that Michael is all about forgiveness and faith, and Priest is about revenge. He just wants blood. We went into it with the same spirit, but with three times the budget, which changes everything." With more money to work with, the future setting of Priest allowed Stewart to play with the visuals. "It's got lots of action and stuff, but it is literally a science fiction western," Stewart said. "It takes place in an alternate universe. There's retro-futuristic things, motorcycles instead of horses, and big industrial cities. The whole mythology is entirely the history of the vampire/human wars and all this other kind of stuff. The Priest characters are like these Jedi Knights." Priest will have something to say, too. Even though the Priests are fighting vampires, they deal with the same problems that face human soldiers returning from human wars. "It's kind of an 'after the war' movie," Stewart said. "What happens when, as a soldier, you make a sacrifice, you go off, you fight the war, you win the war, you think you're going to get the ticker-tape parade down Broadway? Instead they decommission you, and you work in a factory, and no one sits next to you on the bus because people are afraid of you. What happens a generation after that, when now you have to go and do something for yourself and the people who sent you out there say no? You have to defy them." Priest is due out Aug. 20. Sound like something you want to see? whats with vampires lately. meant to be fallen angles,, but instead vampires,,

Cellular / mobile phone. where in that name does it say water proof, yes , rain is water, no where does it say they are designed to work in the rain, get it wet internally it cannot be repaired, and isn't in the warranty. there mobile, they work all around the world, and on the move, in the car, upside down, hell there pretty versatile, BUT there not designed for weather conditions, you got a problem with that, consult the manufacture phone nokia and say, hey you finnish mofo's. why is my phone broken after some light rain, dont moan at your air time provider. the amount of phones coming back from repair as water damage and customer moaning at me can fuck themselves saying; what am i going to do about it, they joined a 2 year contract and now no phone and im supposed to fix it how... well fucktard, every customer is offered insurance, don't pay don't expect a phone for stupidity a contract is for air time, a sim card that can receive and make calls with a number of minutes, text and data use. the phone is the medium to make use of this, however the phone is given for free for signing a long agreement with us. we are not replacing the phone, we are not obligated to, ill replace the sim card a 100times if needed for no charge, i don't give a shit if you refuse to pay your line rental, we will destroy your credit history to the stone age where you will be refused change from a vending machine. it is simple. pay insurance and we will replace the phone if it is broken, lost or stolen dont pay, why will we replace a phone FYI the average phone contract takes 9 months for a company to break even. 30% if all revenue per sale is generally hardware cost alone. we make no money from insurance if you claim at least once. technically we lose money this is a general rant, i hate customers sorry for the rant, just blowing off steam in a healthy way, i still smile and be as friendly as i can to every customer ...

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10440544-1.html The genius who jailbroke (read: hacked) Apple's coveted iPhone has done it again. This time 'round, George Hotz, aka Geohot, set his sights on the PlayStation 3 and took a mere five weeks to "crack" the Sony gaming console. This feat is remarkable due to the fact that the PS3 is the last remaining box that can't be modified for pirated games, unlike the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Geohot has remained tight-lipped on the sort of exploits he can achieve with his utterly disfigured PS3 pictured above, but we suspect loading unsanctioned programs to tap on the powerful Cell processor is one of the possibilities. So what's in it for PS3 owners, you might ask? How about bringing back the Linux operating system support as well as other funky software compatibility? It would be nice if we could use the console as a regular computer, just like a PC or Mac, and unleash the smoking-fast 3.2GHz chip at a bargain price of around $357.24. The burning question is whether Sony will be as forthcoming as Apple with its hijacked product. Only time will tell. wonder what he will do with it

personally i dislike brit series due to crap effects, being human is a good show, i think syfy could make it better, but will prob make it worse, it isnt vampire diaries or supernatural, and twilight here, the fact their supernatural beings isnt the purpose, but it tries to take a different approach then shows like true blood, and vamp diaries that make oh, boo hoo, im immortal sexy and uber strong, yet gentle on the inside, woo me, and i have sex with super hot babes that are so perfect (i love true blood and vamp diaries btw) what the characters in being human; are not sexy or appealing, there people holding onto shreds of humanity living shity lives as hospital porters cleaning shit and piss up, where one has an iq of 158 and the other over a century of life and experience. how they fight their natures and punish themselves by accepting there lot in life

Being Human is BBC drama about a vampire a ghost and wearwolf living together all fighting their own nature the ghost cant let go of her humanity as she keeps making tea that she cant drink, and her emotion effect her ability to be corporal and visible. the vampire Mitchell has himself admitted that he is over 100 years old. Although he can survive daylight, his eyes are overly-sensitive to natural light, prompting him often to wear sunglasses outside in the daytime. Mitchell has attempted several times to abstain from drinking blood the werewolf George resents being a werewolf to the extent that he is essentially in denial about his condition, often referring to it as 'that thing that happens to me once a month'. He sees his wolf side as an entirely different entity, never using 'I' or 'me' to describe it, only ever 'it'. SYFY has commissioned to make a US version of the show that should be starting mid - late 2010 hopefully i look forward to the US version, though the UK version is good, it depends more on characters not effects, which is good, but i love large budget shows personally..
