I surely will remember a fucking racist like McCain's, "I hate gooks. I hate all gooks" comment in 2001. At least Obama has an Asian brother in law, and he understands the multiculturalism, since he is mixed too, and won't act stupid as joking about killing innocent people like "bomb Iran."

Man threatened with arrest at Heathrow for wearing Transformers T-shirt
slippers replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
My govt teacher from the last semester said her son has to go through an extra security everytime he goes to an airport because her son's name matches one of those terrorists. That's like having a suspicion because you have a common name like John Smith. I hope his friend was pulling a prank or something, otherwise that's just stupid. -
Deal to return sect children to parents collapses
slippers replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
I kinda agree with Dubird but their actions were strange nonetheless. They switched their children's bracelets around, which identified them, and gave false names so that their children couldn't be identified. If they had nothing to hide, they would have cooperated so that they could get their children back as soon as they can. And then sue their ass or something. I wouldn't be surprised if many were sexually abused since their leader is already in a trial for marrying a 12 year old (or is it a separate incident?). -

Since you are asking for our suggestions, I'm guessing you have already thought--or leaning more toward--about giving him a second chance. If I were you though, he is gone. 2 different girls after you got married for what, less than a 6 months? That's not right. -

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I loved it. I'm planning to see it again next week or so. After the movie, when I was about to leave, someone mentioned how the ending was a bit far-fetched, but, like hello, previous movies weren't? From swarming ghosts in the lost ark, melting people's eyes, and the living sacrifice with a ripped out heart, to walking across the invisible bridge? There were plenty of action, mystery, and humor to go around. Just kick back and enjoy the movie, people, if you haven't seen it yet. I thought everything looked realistic, and the scenery/backgrounds were beautiful. Again, though, I have to complain about the casts. Cate Blanchette is now a female version of Jude Law, I swear. I'm sick of seeing her face again and again. She just didn't pull that evil villain for me. And I didn't like that greedy friend of Indie either. There could've been better casting than them. -
It must be horrible which I can't even start to imagine. Millions of their homes destroyed and thousands and thousands of their loved ones gone. What's worse, the numbers keep on rising.

Reaching 20,000

It's close to 10,000 now. Asians are getting it worst these days. \ RIP to my fellow Asians.

I guess this goes in as "entertainment". 2 Asians in top 3. Congrats. http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1725112_1726934_1726935,00.html 1. Shigeru Miyamoto (Japanese - Mario, Zelda creator) 3. Rain (Korean - singer)

More than 22,000 dead and 41,000+ missing. The US is only offering $250,000 while China is pledging $1 million.

I never said I hated Iron man^_^; although I took extra good 5-10 mins wondering off in the movie theater after taking a bathroom break during the movie because I wasn't eager to get back and sit there for another round. I only missed the part where he was making his new Iron man suit though. Maybe it was the guy next to me that kept flashing his cell like every 2 secs to check the time bothered me more, but I'm thinking he was probably thinking the samething about the movie as me. Lol. I liked the 90s' batman 1 and 2. The re-remade version was simply boring and the story was pointless (I can't even remember who the villain was..err..Liam Neeson, right?). That's why no one cares if Katie Holmes was replaced or not lmao. That's a bad sign don't you think? One of the main character isn't there anymore and it doesn't bother people who liked the film? All you need is some big named celebrities and then add some special effects. That's all it takes to make superhero movies these days. I don't think Superman 2, the new one coming out, will be as good as Superman returns because the director took his time making other movies first. I think the momentum has left for Superman and people probably won't care much about it now, unless there will be more action than the first one. I guess that's the reason most people thought Superman returns wasn't a good movie due to lack of action. The only guy I thought was bad casting was Kevin Spacey. I'm glad the Superman's role was casted by an unknown actor.

The death toll went up to 10,000. Geez..We Asians inhabited one of the worst places on earth I think from natural disasters. X_x;;

I'm not even gonna rent it to watch that filth.
-
This was the last straw for me. I'm not going to see any superhero movies anymore, except superman 2, if there is gonna be one. It was a so and so--been there done that--movie and I wanted to just get up and leave. There weren't much new things that really sparked my interest. Two casts I didn't like was Gwyneth Paltrow and that reporter lady.

Only the anime based movie I thought could be casted by Asians as the main characters such as Goku and Vegeta. I was wrong.
-
That's horrible.

Have you tried hot tea with honey? I also heard walnuts are good for soar throats. I couldn't stop coughing for a month so I ate walnuts for a couple days and it went away in a few days or so. I don't know if that was a coincidence or not, but I think it helped. Also go to a local drug store and get something for your throat like Kite said. I hope you get well soon. Yea, that must be very convenient. I saw Sicko the other day. But one of my classmates told me that his aunt, who is Canadian, had to wait 2 years for her to get her knee surgery done because the waiting list was so long. And she has to pay taxes like a half for everything.

Alligator wanders into woman’s kitchen (so they kill it)
slippers replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
I remember reading about news that a dude was about to jump in the pool at night but he decided to turn the light on in his backyard. He was surprise to see a huge alligator resting in the pool quietly. I've seen the picture of a child eaten by an alligator, or a crocodile whatever..I can't tell the difference, somewhere in SE Asia and natives cut it open to retrieve the child's decapitated body. The child died horribly. I'm sure they've put down the alligator peacefully. -
How was it different from the Japanese version? You can tell me. It is not my intention to scare myself silly but I thought the character Samara was interesting. I wanted to watch the Ghost ship for ages but I felt it would keep me up at nights. When I finally gathered my courage to watch it a few months ago, I ended up laughing my ass off. The storyline was a total joke. It should be in a comedy section in the rental store. What I want to see is, hopefully another silly horror movie, the Nun but I'm giving my excuses not to. I try to avoid anything Asian made horror movies since they really do the job well. Last time I watched Asian horror movies were probably 15 years ago, unless you count Suicide Club..that was a bit odd yet eerie as hell. Chinese horror stories were awesome since it still had kung fu in it. LOL. Anyways, this seriously cracked me up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-_1UAEc70Q Yea, I agree. Hollywood isn't just creative anymore. They'll keep juicing whatever they can get their hands on from more sequels and remakes of old, or even new movies from other countries (A totally bombed movie The Lakehouse was based on a popular Korean drama I heard and I'm sure there will be more to come), movies when they don't even need to be remade in the first place, like the already remade version of Batman, starring Michael Keaton, in 1992. It scared the crap out of everyone when there was rumor that there was going to be Titanic 2! A classic movie like the Planet of Apes shouldn't have been remade either, since I heard it turned out lame, and looked crap. But I think they are finally getting over themselves with super hero theme at least. Urg. That trend went way too long. \

I agree. Its ending kinda left me with somewhat empty feeling. The movie could've ended without involving that woman and her child (Seemed unnecessary that they popped out of nowhere, saves Will Smith, and saves the day. The problem I had was they were way better off than Will Smith when they arrived--much more relaxed, well prepared with food supplies and weapons, and have a definite goal to find a promised land--while Will Smith was about to go crazy from fear and loneliness!) Soon as the zombies arrived, they were completely helpless and Will had to save them. My gosh, how in the world did they survive all these time by themselves? Will could have pulled it off all by himself to the end without them, imo, and had a better ending as a result.

Lol. True, but she's dead so how can she still use her brain? It would be funny if the movie showed her looking through yellow pages and trying to dial the soon to be victims. It's kinda weird that all of a sudden she became knowledgeable of all these new technology and can manipulate easily regardless of the distance. If she had such a power, she could have controlled the worker who was building the cabin and made him dig or open up the sealed lid on that well she was buried in. I don't know why she has a grudge (I haven't seen the movie Grudge either) on the world in the first place, when she is the one messed with people's mind, eventually driving them to go crazy, or, worse, making them kill themselves. Why was she born evil? I think that question, and many others, should've been answered in the end instead of trying to set up a new sequel, the Ring 2, which I heard was a big disappointment. There was a scene I watched on youtube, I think it's the Ring 2, where Samara pulls in Naomi by grabbing her arms, via TV, and drags her down to the well. I thought she choked her victim to death or make them suffer in her grave. Naomi: "I'm not your fucking Mommy!!" LOL. I heard that movie sucked though and does no justice to explain Samara's complexed, and confusing, past.
