  1. imo watching that shitty show is a cruel punishment ... sy fy got away w/ breaking up BSG seasons early on and have been playing the mid season bullshit ever since. after the way they treated bsg fans I have no internist in patronizing them unless Michio Kaku is involved. SGU blows chunks. I think they got a bunch of idiots from Faux Noise to write these scripts. The writing is horrible and the cliches don't end. A monstrous disapointment but after SGA I'm so not suprised. I was all about following Ron (and thus putting up w/ scyfy crap) through all of BSG but I have no interest in Caprica. I watched BSG for the war fighting deep characters and the human struggle to exist in the universe not Gaius humping 6 all the time. Caprica is what? A soap opera? I quit on that crap shortly after I got outta high school. Not interested yo.

  3. Dear MoveOn member, Last weekend, anti-health care protesters were out in force in Washington--and some of their behavior was deeply disturbing. A crowd of tea partiers shouted the "n word" at Congressman John Lewis, a former civil rights leader who marched with Dr. King. They yelled homophobic epithets at Rep. Barney Frank, an openly gay congressman. And one protester actually spat on a Black member of Congress.1 Then this week, Democrats who voted for reform began receiving death threats--one had a coffin left on his lawn and another was told snipers would kill the children of lawmakers who voted yes.2 Several Democrats had their district offices vandalized, and a gas line was cut at a home that tea partiers mistakenly believed belonged to Rep. Tom Perriello.3 A few Republicans have spoken out against the racism and violence, but most are still treating them as "isolated incidents."4 They are not isolated. They've been part of Republican-supported tea parties for almost a year and they're a natural consequence of telling people that reform is a totalitarian plot.5 It's an outrage, and no American should tolerate it. So we're joining with our friends at Color of Change to stand up to the hate. Can you add your name to this letter asking Republican leaders to unequivocally condemn bigotry, hate, and violence among their supporters? http://pol.moveon.org/condemnhate/?id=19573-11954441-YTl0Z8x&t=23 The letter asks the leaders of the Republican party to do two simple things: 1. Unequivocally condemn bigotry and hate among your supporters, and make clear that those who embrace it have no place in your party and that you reject their support. 2. Make clear that you will not tolerate fear-mongering and coded appeals to racism from officials in the Republican Party, at any level. Instead of calming the tea partiers' anger, Republican members of Congress have stoked it. NBC reported that on Saturday, Reps. Mike Pence, Tom Price, and Michele Bachmann all addressed the tea partiers and that Bachmann stirred them "into a tizzy."6 Protesters from that rally then fanned out across Capitol Hill and were behind the assaults on Reps. Lewis, Frank, and Cleaver.7 Yesterday, Rep. John Boehner called the violence and threats "unacceptable."8 But just last week, he referred to fellow representative Steve Driehaus as "a dead man" if he voted for health care reform.9 And while Boehner's office insisted his remark wasn't meant to be taken literally, as Rep. Driehaus pointed out, "It doesn't really matter the way you meant it, nor the way I accept it. It's how the least sane person in my district accepts it."10 And there's more: During the debate on the floor of the House on Sunday, Rep. Randy Neugebauer shouted "baby-killer" at Rep. Bart Stupak.11 And after the vote, Sarah Palin told supporters "Don't Retreat--Reload," and then highlighted specific members of Congress she thinks are politically vulnerable using gun cross-hairs.12 The Tea Party movement has been marked by racially inflammatory and violent outbursts since its inception a year ago. And while most Republicans are probably disgusted by this behavior, the Republican Party and its leaders have repeatedly tolerated it at events they support.13 But the hateful rhetoric and the tacit acceptance of "isolated incidents" of violence have gotten way out of hand. Will you sign our letter to the leaders of the Republican Party telling them they must stop it now? http://pol.moveon.org/condemnhate/?id=19573-11954441-YTl0Z8x&t=24 Thanks for all you do. --Justin, Nita, Kat, Daniel, and the rest of the team
  4. ppl have had Glenn Beck and Rush screaming at them for a year terrorizing the living shit out of them. Yes they're stupid to just buy into the bs without checking any facts, but scared ppl do crazy shit. If we got rid of some of the 700+ military bases across the globe we could afford health insurance for all. We need a constitutional amendment to right the shit that the Supreme Court let fly [ame=http://forums.ancientclan.com/showthread.php?p=114404#post114404]Squee we need an amendment - Ancient Clan Forums[/ame] and real campaign finance reform. I still won't give up on the public option.
  5. Hawk vs Hawk waz da shit X'D The statues n the Aoki shit after that had me lol.
  6. Arigato Kite san. You say it well. Our ability to live on is a right but there is a cost attached to that. I would rather put my 5% into something non profit ~ a reasonably healthy adult with traditional risks I'm trying to give the boot (ex:smoking, soda/beer) exercise or obesity aren't a problem for me but who don't wanna lose 10 lbs I have pre existing conditions that require monthly medications to keep myself alive and functioning.
  7. oooh slide show http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/22/health-reform-bill-summary_n_508315.html#s75147
  8. Ugh.... *shudder* *twitch* The best part is that people w/ pre existing conditions- cancer diabetes allergies whatever-can't be denied coverage; this makes denying coverage because of a pre existing condition illegal. Finally you can't have your policy cancled in the middle of treatment because Cigna found out you're allergic to penicillin. The new law also requires that the majority of premiums and customer payments go to actual health care as opposed to advertising and CEO bonuses. Your money will actually go to taking care of sick people as opposed to buying some asshole his 6th yacht. First big step in the right direction to bring insurance companies under control which is why people pushed so hard to get it passed. Also parents will be allowed to keep their kids on their family insurance policies until the kid is almost 30. Talk about blow back from kids moving back in with momma san. It speaks volumes in regards to our shit economy and just how many people are living below poverty level. That said the individual mandate in the reform package requires every citizen to carry insurance on themselves. The millions of people who have been running around w/ no insurance either go out and buy insurance (millions of new customers for insurance companies) or they will be fined; as of 2014 it will be illegal to live in this free country without handing over ~ 5% of your income to insurance companies. Personally I have a huge problem with the mandate. Sounds a whole hell of a lot like corporate slavery to me. Choosing to live is not like choosing to drive a car. A car requires insurance registration inspection and a citizens license to drive. Owning and operating a car is a choice, being born American is not. The individual mandate is a step in the wrong direction when it comes to individual rights and liberties. It is the foot in the door that will allow government to further legislate where our money and freedom is going. I fully understand that the individual mandate is likely the only way we can get 30 million uninsured to pay their share; that the costs of their visits to the ER, inpatient services and whatever are being passed on to everyone else. The real problem is not addressed however; why are there so many people without insurance? Sure we can chalk some of it up to the lazy procrastinator who hasn't got around to it yet, but the bulk of the uninsured are uninsured because they can't afford it. It's a problem that a public option could provide a solution to (no to low cost insurance policies) but the public option was not in the bill because of assholes who thought it was a bad idea. This is where the word retard actually applies. Force people to purchase something but don't give them an affordable way to do it = ticking time bomb. How many times have you or someone you know paid their car insurance late, it got canceled and then they got ticketed and yada yada yada. Troublesome, running back and forth to the court and dmv and blah. Now lets just change that up a little bit. You're going through dialysis or kemo and whoops forgot to pay that insurance bill in your half dead state. Well, too bad so sad, now you have a mountain of medical bills you're liable for because they weren't covered AND you get fined by the government for letting that insurance lapse. Out of cash or available credit for that next treatment? Well you can just die then. Equating health insurance to car insurance is total bullshit. I don't have the chevy emblem tattooed on my forehead. I am not an uninsured car sitting in the driveway doing nothing but taking up space. I am alive and trying to maintain that status.... The amendments process has begun. Though I do not believe we can rid ourselves of the individual mandate that requires everyone to hand their money to private companies I do think there is a way to counter such an offense. An individual mandate MUST go hand in hand with a federal public option. People should be able to choose between plans offered by and for the people (we are the fucking government but everyone seems to forget that) or Wellpoint. A choice between non and for profit is the ONLY way to keep for profit insurance companies from charging too much. okay then, take it away Joe... 10. I haven't read/seen either. Drama aint my genera and vampires walking around in broad daylight is horse shit. Lestat~ oh now there was a vampire. Ann Rice pre jesus freak out was some good stuff. And really woman! I don't see what age has to do with anything. I've enjoyed plenty of movies/series with a G or PG rating. People like what they like, who else likes it doesn't really matter. Ya think I give a crap what other people think of me reading/watching One Piece or Ippo? Puh-leeze. Just because someone else isn't entertained or inspired by what you like doesn't mean you should feel some kind of remorse or regret for liking it yourself. Different things attract different personalities. If everyone liked the same tired ass shit there would be no diversity; boring world

  12. Avatar the last Airbender is a Nick toon in English, 3 seasons and its complete. It was a very good story. (good enough for Hollyweird to turn it into a live action flick) fan made trailer... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm-wiB60nHs]YouTube- Avatar Trailer[/ame] Samurai Jack was a c/n production. All of the art is done w/o black outlines, gives it a real clean look. They got around the censors by killing robots rather then people. After the Supreme Court's [ame=http://forums.ancientclan.com/showthread.php?t=9994]fucked up decision[/ame] we the ppl need to over-rule their scummy asses and force an amendment to our constitution that restricts corps from having the same rights/ personhood as we citizens. You can start here http://www.sherrodbrown.com/site/petition As I gather the petitions I'll post them here but everyone reading this needs to write their reps and tell them this lead turd aint flying with us.
  18. LG is some good shit Yay you guys
  19. If you liked Gungrave you'll prolly like Black Lagoon. I have both BL steelbook box sets, teh nice. The series is not suitable for children. I prefer it subbed. An OVA is upcoming and eventually a 3rd season. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4wjjow8Tag]YouTube- Black Lagoon opening[/ame] Berserk has the wartime thing going on, sword fighting. It is not suitable for children. It was recently spiffed up and re-released which is why I have 3 box sets. Decent dub. The manga went on but I highly doubt there will ever be anymore Berserk anime. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYLmMcKZZ_c]YouTube- Berserk - Opening[/ame] Code Geass, though most of the main characters are student age there is minimal humor and a lot of psychological drama going on. Prefer sub [nomedia=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5tgCgskXys]YouTube- Code Geass Trailer[/nomedia] Death Note is a psychological mystery type. Prefer subs [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vXZad00CaA]YouTube- Death Note English Anime Trailer[/ame] I didn't see any sports anime on yer list, usually I don't care for them myself but Hajime no Ippo is a boxing series and I do like boxing; the series has awesome characters, very easy to love em all. Its long and a new 2nd Ippo series (new challenger) was recently released as the manga is huge... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOX_Jn2DxQU]YouTube- Hajime No Ippo New Challenger (Opening 4) HQ[/ame] If you have a lot of time and want a great story One Piece is the ultimate pirate adventure. We're over the 10 seasons mark and catching up to the manga. Look for the subs as I have yet to hear anyone good do the eng voices. A lot of people are totally missing out on amazing characters and a fantastic plot with some of the best fights in anime because they don't like the art style; their loss. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4nPbWnIDgY]YouTube- One Piece Opening 12 "Kaze wo Sagashite" HD[/ame] For good fighting I also recommend Yu Yu Hakusho. It has a steady build up of characters and their strength. It gets a little darker towards the end [nomedia=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePmfMKiR8U4]YouTube- Yu Yu Hakusho AMV - Mortal Kombat Theme[/nomedia] Gurren Lagann is just awesome crazy shit [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVb8nKj6iYo]YouTube- Gurren Lagann Trailer[/ame] and there is always Kenshin [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BFolP_pC8A]YouTube- Rurouni Kenshin - Opening 1[/ame] You may notice no Naruto or Bleach here. The animes are heavily loaded down w filler mostly due to the incompetence of the mangaka involved taking forever to write through a fight...which is one of the reasons I quit reading them.
  20. w00t! Awesome presents rock!
