Legislature approved same-sex weddings, but opponents got issue on ballot marriage vs civil unions = unconstitutional. It creates a 2nd class for married people and civil unions do not provide the same benefits and protections civil marriage does under the law. Ordinary citizens have denied their neighbors equal rights. They should be deeply ashamed of themselves. That's about as un-American as you can get. really? then would you care to comment on the divorce rate you filth? Separation of church and state; a particular religion doesn't have to perform weddings or bless unions if they don't want to but the LAW requires we give the same rights and liberties to ALL citizens. Loser ignorant haters want to use marriage as another holy concept and its not. Its a legal issue. No doubt these great supporters of equality are also against health insurance for everyone. The US of A is not about denying rights but this vote shows otherwise. WTF has become of this alleged land of the free? Did 8 years of Bush brainwashing and constitution trashing leave people incapable of understanding the rights all American's are supposed to have? How many women whose ancestors fought for their rights to vote, own property etc voted to restrict some other minority's civil rights? Sickening Everyone who voted against gay marriage should be forced to take a civil rights course at gunpoint if necessary. Disgusted pissed off and ashamed. face it, SGA was a terrible show. Constant re hashed plots, they especially loved infecting the city with something. The one time a main ch died it's underplayed and then fan complaining pressured the writers to do you know what. The show sucked out loud but it had some viewers and they'll watch SGU with a stupid grin on their face thinking they're getting something new and smart.... shows ya how smart they are. Its a HUGE let down considering the basis that started the show: A million year old ship still functioning traversing the universe following behind the gate building ship; they've made it half way across the universe from the starting point..... Fucking amazing base! The ship is probably intelligent enough to be considered a character as some sort of AI. its been self sustaining for a million years there has to be intelligent awareness; it stopped when the bitter bastard told them they were in trouble. I rinse the bottle/can before I stash it. keeps stink and ants away. In the plaza I do my shopping in both the grocery store and the Walmart have the machines for returning the stuff. Less stinky then redemption centers. I wish every store that uses plastic bags have a bin to take them back for recycling (if they don't I speak to a manager and wont buy shit there until they have one. I did it when Target opened in Fairmount, they have a bin for their bags now)and every store that sells plastic/glass bottles and cans had a machine out front to return those to be recycled too at the very least the big stores. The best way to get something is to ask (and nag nag nag if you must!) Like w/ Target I told the mgr it was irresponsible of Target to not take back all the plastic bags they push out the door and that as a local I don't want my lakes clogged with plastic bags. I couldn't have been the only one to say so and our complaining brought Target around to do the right thing with their bags. If your area doesn't have these programs ask for them Don't be afraid to speak up for the right things. If nobody spoke up, nobody would step up and nothing would get done. We must be the change we want to see in the world. Start with your local officials and state senators. If it were up to me recycling and the 5 cent deposit/return would be a federal law in all 50 states no exceptions. The recycling industry employs people, I suppose it would fit the green job description.
