Avatar: The Last Air Bender --- Live Action Trailer

think of air as being book 0 as Aang was mastering air when he ran off and got them frozen for 100 years. I waited until the series was fin~ before I watched the whole thing; ye ol' tv don't stop on the kiddie channels very often anymore... I liked that the entire story was packaged into 3 seasons and had a satisfying ending. A much better martial arts story then say crappy Naruto. Avatar had competent writing and planning hooray. -

Three years in the making, this cinéma-vérité feature from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger is the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial legal cases on the planet. An inside look at the infamous $27 billion Amazon Chernobyl case, CRUDE is a real-life high stakes legal drama set against a backdrop of the environmental movement, global politics, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, the media, multinational corporate power, and rapidly-disappearing indigenous cultures. Presenting a complex situation from multiple viewpoints, the film subverts the conventions of advocacy filmmaking as it examines a complicated situation from all angles while bringing an important story of environmental peril and human suffering into focus. involuntary manslaughter, the doc should be charged don't mean he'll spend time in jail but it is the prescribing physicians obligation to know all the meds a patient takes, which is why competent docs that don't want their ass sued off ask what meds are you on and what are you allergic to before they give you an Rx. fuck even my dentist keeps a list of what and how much Rx shit I take. Why, so there wont be some kind of reaction should I need to go under. Responsible and competent, two things MJ's doc was not. Charge him and send the message that a license to prescribe medication is not a legal way to deal drugs.

Gigantic arcology of the future designed for New Orleans

great (and very ff~ish) concept but... unless the fuckers float I wouldn't build them at or below sea level. No point in building the thing in a place that will end up abandon swamp land. we need to be moving structures inland/to higher ground and/or building sea walls around coastal cities we want to keep not adding more shit to flood zones. Guess these geniuses haven't heard about a lil thing called sea level rise which we mere mortals can't do anything to stop.- 5 replies

Budweiser, Miller to raise prices in the fall
Ladywriter replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
well.............. do we remember that Budweiser is no longer an American owned company? Profits benifit the owners in Belgium. It's flawed logic: We're not selling enough of product X so lets make it more expensive to compensate. This will likely lead to a further decline in sales as the millions financially struggling right now will buy something else that is more affordable. -

Every day we hear new arguments that America should just put off health care reform. But millions of Americans can't afford to wait. Like Joe B., a MoveOn member whose family is facing over $20,000 in costs for their autistic son's treatment because his insurance company won't cover what the doctor prescribed. And Nicole T.'s mother, who lost her insurance coverage after being diagnosed with cancer. With just 14 days until Congress heads back to D.C. to vote on health care, we need to bring the health care debate back to what matters. To do that, we're launching "We Can't Afford to Wait," a photo petition to remind Congress of the real lives at stake. Will you join the photo petition today by submitting a picture of yourself holding up a sign showing why you or someone you love can't afford to wait? Click here to get started. http://pol.moveon.org/cantwait?id=16982-11954441-iXqeGjx&t=12 Submitting a photo is really easy, and we provide step-by-step instructions. We'll share the photo petition--pictures of thousands of MoveOn members holding up signs saying why they or a loved one can't afford to wait for real health care reform--with Congress and the media. Through our "We can't afford to wait: Public Option NOW!" vigils next week, by delivering photo albums to each member of Congress, and by making sure your stories are heard in the news media, we'll help bring the debate back to what really matters. It's too easy for Congress to get mired in the politics of health care, and forget the substance. By reminding them about the true cost of inaction in a visible and visceral way, we can make sure the needs of real Americans are front and center when our senators and representatives head back to Washington to vote on health care reform. Can you submit a photo today and remind Congress why America can't afford to wait for real reform? Click here to get involved: http://pol.moveon.org/cantwait?id=16982-11954441-iXqeGjx&t=13
