Happy Birthday GG!
-
Yea, bad idea. Considering I was never a fan of the Terminator movies (One was ok, two was eh, three just sucked) I doubt I'll watch this (plus whats Terminator without the Governator). This is kinda like the Robocop series. Took a good movie (I loved Robocop as a kid, still do) and turned it into a half-assed TV series that was hardly worth watching. As DX put it, TV went down the crap shoot years ago. Tis the main reason why I've hardly watched TV for the last 6 years (I watch for the occasional good movie and some good shows (Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and Deadliest Catch to name a few)).

Welcome to the insanity! Do enjoy your stay here and remember to keep your arms within the ride at all times. Don't want you loosing any limbs while you're here. I'd warn you of the noob eaters but it looks like thats been taken care of all ready.

Not everyone has access to that area though GG. Considering who you ordered it from it'll be there GG. It just depends on what day you ordered it and what shipping you picked (2-3 day is the best, you pay for it in the long run but you get the anime oh so much faster).

Seen it and love it. Such an awesome series and I'm glad I invested money into buying it (I bought it as it came out). Warning: It's full of a lot of gore and nudity (just a warning just in case you don't like lots of it).

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala
Strider Hiryu replied to Kite's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
If you liked the series then yeah it's worth buying. Pretty good continuation of the series with a pretty good plot, I know I enjoyed watching it. -
Gundam Wing is still some of the best animation to date and it's only a decade old (and I actually find the animation quality to be better then some of todays new stuff thoug I don't like the series as a whole). Some anime just doesn't age well as the years go by so most people find the animation to be cheap (that was back in the days when everything was hand drawn, not this cheap cg (cg is good and all but you can't beat old fashion animation)). I prefer old school animation. Some of the best shows came out in the 80's and though they haven't aged well animation wise they're still better then some of the anime out there today (Dirty Pair is a prime example. Freaking awesome show, animation is a little dated but I could watch it over and over again without caring about animation quality). It's all a matter of opinion. Some people prefer pretty cg backdrops with some hand drawn animation and others prefer the rich texture of old school hand drawn animation where the backgrounds were beyond beautiful and the characters were well drawn/designed.

english vs japanese dubbing
Strider Hiryu replied to Kite's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
I prefer to watch anime subbed because I can't stand American voice actors (and to this day the only series that have had good dubs have been Cowboy Bebop, Slayers (yes, I found the English version to be better then the sub), and Escaflowne (both versions are good, I just prefer the English dub). About the only good dubs outside of those are the Miyazaki films (Disney has done an awesome job dubbing these)). Theres just something about watching anime dubbed that rubs me the wrong way (could be that I started watching anime subbed and just can't stand English VA's). A lot of people prefer Japanese VA's over English VA's in anime because the Japanese VA's are able to portray the characters better and bring out more emotion. English VA's normally sound like they have no idea what they're doing, the same actors are overused (the English VA pool is extremely limited and you're hearing the same people over and over with little variation in voice), and a lot of the time they just can't portray the character. I'll watch either though. Pending on how I view the anime for the first time generally cements what version I'll like better (take Cowboy Bebop, both tracks are good but I prefer the dub because I saw the dub before the sub. Same for FMP, watched the sub first and can't stand the dub). -
It's extremely bad, so bad Gundam fans have been sworn to never speak of it again. As such we will now pretend that this topic was never made and let it sink into oblivion. We don't want word spreading that such an atrocity was ever made and that it carries the Gundam name.

Considering that'd probably be the best part of the movie they should X'D God I hope they do this right. Lately Hollywood has been on a comic book/cartoon live action kick and I just don't know how to take it. They've fucked up more times then they've got it right. I just hope they can do this justice (but knowing them, it'll suck so terribly bad that it'll never be mentioned again (much like the live action Gundam movie)).

Off Topic: I heard on the MAL School Days club. I don't know, the story just really doesn't interest me anymore (and I know all about the multiple endings for the game and what happens (still have yet to play the game, need to find room for a 6 gig file)). Something about screwing multiple women and getting fucked over by it just doesn't strike me as a good anime series (then again this is just me).
-
Actually I've only seen up to ep 6 of School Days (I'm behind because I'm picky about fansub groups, plus I'll most likely end up dropping it (it's just not that interesting and the plot is just to damn predictable (plus the drama is just lacking in my opinion))). Eh, I think everyone and there mom gave up on that club. hollywood has degraded it into a Raki hate club because he can't grow up and accept what Madhouse did to the anime. God, if every anime followed it's manga counterpoint to a T we'd have people complaining because it follows the manga too damn closely with no originality. Gotta love the whiners, they make being an anime fan so much fun.

So she died. What Claymore hasn't as of late in the manga? It's how she died that made it memorable. Eh, we're just scratching at a topic that we won't know anything about till the last three eps (and I don't want to degrade this into a MAL Claymore Club discussion cause god knows how sad and pathetic those have been as of late). True, Raki would be made moot if they just threw him to the side now but frankly I don't care. I'd just like to see something from the last few eps follow the manga. I know they're going for original on the ending but at least keep that bit the same. Raki can just cry and whine that he wasn't of use for all I care or Helen can just cut him to pieces (preferable). Or even better would be to have Clare butcher him in the end, now that would be something (similar to how Jean saved Clare in the Manga, just with Raki as the sacrifice. Would make Raki haters happy and he'd fulfill his role in saving her). Eh, enough speculation. Lets just wait and see what happens.

I hear you EVA. People don't seem to understand that us folks who used Photoshop for so long can't downgrade to other, similar software (Paint Shop Pro though is pretty good though I still prefer Photoshop). As I said Adobe has effectively made it harder to get pirated copies of their software now thats why I've resigned to not making any new sigs since I can't get Photoshop (then again I'll most likely be getting the newest version soon, it's required at the college and major I'm going into).

I know that goku, remember I'm up to current with the manga. You made it sound as if you can go back from fully awakening. My misunderstanding thats why I did my little rant. I know full well that you can prevent an awakening. It's not Jean's job persay but I believe she should retain her role from the manga. I'm sorry, as far as I'm concerned Raki can just be crushed by a building (as Epples has put it). If he's the one that prevents her from awakening I will be disappointed because they'll write out one of the better scenes of friendship that have come out of the manga (I'm sorry but Jean's sacrifice was one of the main reasons that Jean is my favorite out of the Claymores and if Madhouse writes that out I will be pissed). As Jean has pointed out throughout the manga/anime since she met Clare she owes her a life debt and theres no better way to repay that then sacrificing herself to prevent Clare from awakening.

Abyssal Ones are Awakened Beings, they're just the most powerful Awakened Beings. Priscilla fully awakened in her fight with Teresa and she has amnesia at the moment (they don't go into the how and why). Normally they retain all memories of their pasts when they awaken (Rigaldo and Isley have, as have Riful and others) but they undergo some mental changes when they awake (hence my reasoning behind awakening being a two fold process, both physical and mental). Before someone tries to counter my argument using the twin claymores they are a special case and I didn't bring them up because of spoilers that would spoil the manga for those who haven't read it (it's explained fully in the manga about why they can do what they do). Everything I've mentioned has been seen in the anime up to this point.
-
They've said you can't go back after fully awakening (it's stated in both the manga and anime). No one, to this date, has fully awakened and come back. True Jean technically awoke but awakening is both a physical and mental process. Jean's body awoke but her mind didn't so she never fully awakened. Clare stopped her before she fully awoke. Had she truthfully awoken she'd of never been the same Jean again and would of ended up as a true Awakened Being. Then again your never the same if you partially awake either. You retain your mind but your body is never the same again (increased strength, speed, etc comes with partially awakening). I'll tell you this much if Raki is the one to stop Clare from fully awakening in the anime I'll be pissed. Thats Jean's job and if Madhouse changes it I'll be utterly disappointed (even if this is an original ending they shouldn't change that).

Eclipse hands down. Mentioned earlier in the thread. After ep 23 I have a little more faith in the anime storyline. God that ep was awesome.

Good luck finding a working copy of the new Photoshops. With Adobe's new activation crap it's effectively killed pirated copies. I've been without CS2 for over 6 months since I reformatted my harddrive because of this (I've used up the 5 activations I got with my CD due to various reformats and I can't reinstall it because I didn't revoke my activations (kinda hard when you can't log into your computer due to virus take over)). Plus you shouldn't need to burn it. If you find an ISO of Photoshop all you really need to do is mount it in Alcohol 120% or Daemon and it'll install just fine.
-
True that. hollywood just needs to shut up and accept it. I could do with less Raki because lets admit it he's dragging out the Rigaldo fight with all the cut in times with him (man I really want to see this fight end). However, the anime's story is just as good as the manga's so I really see no reason for people to get all whiny about it.
-
No idea, I guess you can just say I'm sick of all the whining about Claymore (blame in on the Claymore Club on MAL). All I know is they're going for an original ending with the anime because the manga is on a hiatus until November. No one really knows how the anime will end but hit up the Claymore Club on MAL for theories.
-
They haven't messed it up. They're going for an original ending, why can't anyone accept that? Yes Lady do read the manga. It's a lot better then the anime but then again manga usually are better then their anime adaptations.

You're probably referring to the Turn-A theory that's been circulating the net for years (you've probably only heard snippets and what not). It's only speculation that Turn-A ties in the multiple timelines, not proven fact. Turn-A does have various aspects that are borrowed from previous series and makes homage to some of the previous Gundams but it does not tie the timelines together (Tomino has never confirmed this theory nor has he really denied it either (most people believe he didn't mesh the timelines together but in fact just took what he liked out of others and added his own flare to it to mesh it in with the current story he had set up). As I said it's just fan speculation that Turn-A meshes the timelines together. To this date this theory has not been confirmed or denied (unless Tomino has recently stepped forward to given us a true answer).

Welcome to getting the point (if that sounds sarcastic, sorry. I just got up). It's been stated by Bandai/Sunrise over and over that the latest AU series were created with selling a ton of Gundam Models in mind. If you've noticed, since Tomino's hay days with the UC timeline the formula for Gundam has changed to incorporate multiple Gundams for model sales and pretty boy pilots to keep bringing in female fans. Gundam has degraded into nothing more then a way to make massive profits off of model kits for Bandai/Sunrise. They've effectively killed what made Gundam so awesome back in the day just to make more money. Gundam Wing served it's purpose when it was aired, it effectively revived a dying series. It also brought female fans into an all male fanbase and it revived model kit sales with it's multiple Gundams. G Gundam, outside of model sales, doesn't really have a purpose that I can find (plus it was degraded to a Super Robots show). I realize I have yet to see Turn-A but I have to tell you it did not try to fuse AU and UC or tie them together in any way. It's effectively the last Gundam Tomino will ever make and he made it with that in mind so he did it his way. If any series tried to tie the two timelines together it was Gundam X (for obvious reasons). Turn-A is just Tomino's last entry into a series he created. Sadly Tomino sees that he must step down because what people want now-a-days is something he just can't provide (he won't compromise his standards or storytelling to give Bandai/Sunrise what they want which is a watered down plot with multiple Gundams and pretty boy pilots). Outside of this I suggest you actually do some research on Gundam 00 and make a more educated guess on it then what you've listed. True, it'd degraded to the new Gundam formula with pretty boy pilots and multiple Gundams but you can't judge a series till you've seen it or researched it. Really all this boils down to now is exactly what Epples said, who cares? It's entertainment (I've given up all hopes of seeing a good Gundam anymore so I watch the new ones purely because it's entertainment (and in some cases refuse to watch them because they suck, the SEED franchise comes to mind)).
