  1. LMAO! If only that were true, it only it were true. I've been reading up on Destiny a lot as of late and it seems Bungie rewrote the story only a few months before the game was released. I don't know how much truth can be taken from what I've read and I currently don't have the links to the so called supporting evidence but it seems some Closed Alpha testers leaked story details and an ex-Bungie employee also leaked some information. It seems that theory of us being the enemy isn't to far off as according to what I've read we actually were the enemy during the original story and we're eventually kidnapped by the Queen's brother and brought over to their side to help them against the Traveler. Or so it was said, like I mentioned I really don't know how much truth can be taken from this info but their is a supporting trailer for it out there and it does seem Bungie did a lot of story rewrites before the game came out. I'd definitely like some different public events. The fight this before it gets here, defend the warsat, kill the walker, etc events were getting severely boring and it's one of the main reasons I did stop playing (since it's also one of the easiest ways to get Shards and Energies outside of the raid and random chest drops). I honestly do think Bungie bit off more then they could chew and should of left the game in development for at least another half a year to give they're players a more substantial game.
  2. Well Right Stuf has yet again taken all my hard earned money. I really hate this time of year and I'm really dreading the Christmas sale x.x

Picked up the entire series of Clannad (both seasons) plus the movie, Yuyushiki, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, and I just placed my order for Dirty Pair Flash (the only Dirty Pair series I don't own). I think it's a good haul but I just wish I could of afforded seasons 2 and 3, the OVA, and the movie of Shakugan no Shana. Just didn't have enough money atm

Nice, I always liked Dirty Pair. I haven't watched the other series tho. Damn Gurren Lagann and FMA Brotherhood on blu ray are still expensive as hell. x_x

Heh, which is why I'm glad I picked up Brotherhood two years ago during the Christmas sale. Still expensive but much cheaper then normal.

  3. After 3 I was really hoping we were done with these movies. I really loved the first one, thought the second one was good, but the third one was a disappointment for me (so much so that I almost asked for my money back). However this one looks pretty good, I'll probably go see it.
  4. This is going to be extremely biased but I absolutely loved the first Halo, it will remain one of my all time favorite shooters as it was the one that got me into playing them (yea I'm a huge Halo fanboy, it was the main reason I got an XBox). Yea the story is rather cliche in most parts but the original Halo was still a great game that had a rather engaging story (if you want more on my opinion go read the old review I did for it in the archives). The second Halo is by far one of their greatest flops of all time for me. Yea it did wonders for multiplayer but as a single player game it sucked. They tried to do too much in such a small amount of time that it was honestly a cluster fuck of a game. They introduced a second character (the Arbiter) who's story basically killed the game for me as his story was bland and uninteresting compared to what John-117 was doing. The weapons were severely nerfed from what they were in Halo and gah I just don't know how else to explain it. Halo 3 (yea I know you asked for the first two but lets run down the line to give them a little more clarity on their game making) was a good game, not great and not terrible but good. It did a good job of wrapping up the story as a whole and did much to redeem Bungie for me after the horrible game that was Halo 2 but it wasn't as good as the first one for me. It was still a fun game. Halo 3: ODST was a great game for what it was. My love for this game is mostly cemented for the fact that they used Nathon Fillion, Alan Tudyk, and Adam Baldwin as voice actors and well we all know I love Firefly so yeah. The game had a good story, great characters, and was extremely fun to play (and a bitch to get through on Legendary). Reach is another game that I loved. A lot of people hated it but I on the other hand loved every minute of it (I say that without having beaten it on Legendary). It gave me back all the weapons I loved, introduced me to my favorite Halo weapon (the DMR), let me see how Reach fell (one of my major interests as a Halo Lore buff), and introduced us to Spartans that actually had more emotions then John-117. Although I already knew how the game was going to end the story was still extremely engaging. Honestly, after Halo, Reach is my second favorite game in the series. So yea Bungie has a history of ups and downs and it seems they're on a downward spiral right now with Destiny. They're trying to do so much with this game and sadly are getting nowhere with it because they don't know how to deliver everything they had promised while still balancing everything for both sets of players (Hardcore and Casual). Sadly they've been leaning more towards keeping their Hardcore players and giving us casual players the shaft around every corner. They need to go back and look at what they did with the Halo games to learn where they're going wrong with Destiny as well as, as much as I hate to say this as they're not the greatest examples of development team awesomeness, get with Blizzard and figure out how to make this game deliver on the casual content.
  5. This is the only reason I'm glad I didn't get the Collector's Edition (Ghost Edition, I still want that damn Ghost though). I guess I walked into this with too much hope because what was delivered was far from what I was expecting (I mean the game is still fun to play with you guys and other friends but honestly it has nothing for the solo player). I'm guessing this game is going to bomb big time when they don't deliver anything relevant with the second expansion because people are expecting so much more for a game that is honestly 1/4 of what we were promised. Meh, come Thursday if I'm lucky I'm buying AW and most likely AC4 or Unity pending on which one I can get so I wouldn't be able to afford the expansions (plus I just blew $135 on anime so yeah).
  6. You'll have to tell me how it is, I honestly don't feel like giving Bungie any more of my money if they don't want to make this game much more substantial. There honestly is nothing to do after you finish the story and getting raids together is to much of a pain in the ass that it's not even worth running them (though I see Avolanty is doing rather well for himself, must of found a damn good group to run with). Plus running strikes over and over again gets really boring. I might come back next year when the second expansion hits as that way I'll feel like I actually have something to do for awhile (though $40 is still to much money for such a small amount of content).
  7. Well it's official, you need to complete all three of the Phantom Assignments to unlock the bow. I'm depressed now because I really wanted to play around with it.
  8. Well outside of the code it seems we've figured out how to get the elevator to work and it seems we need to do the first Phantom Assignment and need to get 1 of each of the new futuristic dog tags (one per person) to get the elevator to work. Guess I'll need to work on those Tank kills so I can get my dog tag. I'm only one melee kill from the decoy as of last night, might have to work on that later when I get a chance.
  9. It seems there may be more then that to it if Jack's video sheds any light on how this might be unlocked. I got on for a few matches last night and got through all the maps. The new DLC is quite amazing in a lot of ways. Not only are the maps huge (and a sniper's paradise) they're actually pretty fast paced and battles are rather epic (hell my squad held a mountain just like we did when we played last week). I will say that I absolutely hate choppers in these maps, makes it into a shooting gallery for anyone even moderately good with a chopper (all the maps are completely open with very little to no inside combat). I tried out the hover tank and I absolutely suck with it since you have to turn the whole tank just to aim the main cannon at a target. Throws me off considerably since I'm used to a swivel turret of normal tanks. Haven't really seen anyone that's actually good with it yet (it's only available on two maps). I'd really love to get my hands on the rail gun again but that's everyone's favorite toy right now due to it being a one shot kill weapon and it can destroy all vehicles in the game. I just like it because there's no bullet drop on it (which makes me ever so happy, back to COD sniping for me. Only real downside is it's need to charge before you shoot). Send me a text when you get on tonight, I'll play a few matches if I'm not busy working on my Animus weapon in FF (probably won't be, I only really need to get on to do my dailies but I can always do those Friday morning as the day doesn't reset until 8 am for FF).
  10. I tried out a match last night after my internet decided to work and overall it's not that bad. As usual it suffers from lag but nowhere near as bad as Naval Strike did. Played on Hangar 21 and I gotta say the map is freaking huge (as are all of them as far as I know). There was no Hover tank on the map but snowmobiles are fun to drive around (even if they handle like jet skis) and the rail gun is a beast if you can get your hands on it. Now to figure out how to unlock the compound bow. I just hope it doesn't require me to finish the other three Phantom assignments to get it (because I'll never get those done).
  11. Just send me a text if you guys get on and I'll join you, need to get some more BF4 practice in before Tuesday when Final Stand goes live for us. I'll get on for a few considering I still have to work (and I don't need to be on FF farming currency as I finally got my last piece of armor yesterday so I'm good for awhile). The MPX is an amazing gun. I unlocked my later that night after you guys got off and fell in love with it immediately. I still think the F2000 is a much better gun but the MPX would give it a run for it's money in a showdown. It's certainly a prime contender for my Engineer's permanent primary weapon but I still like my QBS-09. That shotgun turns me into a very dangerous person to come across on close quarters maps like Pearl Market and Metro.
  12. For some reason mine always seemed to have a delay. Hell I've seen helicopters fly right over the damn things and they don't even fire. Highly doubt stealth coating is that effective. All I know is I'll never use the damn mines again. I'll be on earlier then I thought tonight. Change of plans for dinner so I should be on around 6 my time (if no one else is on I'll just hop into a match and you can just join in when you get on). Tomorrow night will most likely be later then I expected though, we'll have to play that by ear.
  13. Team Fortress anyone? I'm sorry but this game gives off to many TF feels for me to be comfortable (someone seems to still be pissy over getting DOTA taken from them). I like how the game looks but I honestly didn't get too excited about it because they scrapped Titan and threw some of the assets into this game. We'll have to see how it goes but I doubt I'll be playing it.
  14. Fucking right, been waiting for what seems like forever for this. Just wish they'd announce a damn date already so I can pre-order the Collector's Edition.
  15. Last time I used the AA mine I never got a kill with one but have gotten multiple hits with them. Sadly they react so damn slowly they're worthless and not worth wasting a gadget spot on (plus it's one shot per mine so if they flare you're fucked). Since I unlocked my SRAW I don't ever take that thing off. It's great for air targets as long as you know how to aim them damn thing right (which is hard sometimes since the thing follows you're aim). Chain link is alright, not a big fan of it myself. I was only doing it to unlock the MPX since the gun is amazing from everything I've seen.
  16. Really, DMR's are supposed to be getting buffed last I heard. They might be rolling out that change when they bring in Final Stand but watching CTE footage makes them out to be beastly now. Either that or they buffed them at long range and nerfed them on the short range (which makes no sense considering DRM's are supposed to be used at shorter ranges then Sniper Rifles). You and your damn RPG's. I have yet to hit a chopper with one.
  17. Ah, didn't know they did the skill level matching and not by region either. Was also hearing a lot of griping about the hit detection (even noticed some of it in the live streams I watched). Also not liking the fact that there are no sniping positions on any of those maps (I love sniping in COD). Hmmm, might have to think on it a little longer then. My friend says he's enjoying the hell out of it so I'll probably still get it but I'll put it off till next paycheck (had to buy new shoes and what not last week). On a side note I think I'll be busting out some BF4 tomorrow and Wednesday if you guys want to join in. I'll be playing at my usual time Wednesday but I'll be on around 7 my time tomorrow to play some matches. Was watching some CTE footage over the weekend and the itch to play hit me hard so yea, time to get some BF in.
  18. I'll get on BF4 anytime you want, I absolutely loved the last dlc and Final Stand should be coming out here soon (not too sure when but it's right around the corner, it's still in CTE). From what I've seen it looks fun but all the footage has been based off the PC version of the game which is having some serious mouse issues I hear. It all depends on what my friend says, he's not really into COD as a hardcore gamer but as a casual player of the series I trust his opinion more then I do the fanatics that love the franchise. If he says it's good I'll most likely break down and buy the game as I have some extra cash burning a whole in my pocket and as much as I want to by Beyond Earth I have a boat load of PC games I need to play before I start buying more. If not I'll probably buy AC:Unity as it's been awhile since I've played a Creed title and this one looks rather amazing.
  19. Grats on the gun DX, your freaking luck knows no bounds. Sorry about earlier, I only got on long enough to finish the last of my bounties. No I haven't done the weekly heroic yet and probably won't. After Friday I'm going to take a break until the expansion comes out (I want to see what Xur has, that's the only reason I'm waiting till Friday). It's getting harder and harder to get on everyday to do bounties because I'm just freaking bored as hell with this game. Hell I might not even buy the expansion. $20 is a lot of money for 3 story missions, a strike, and a new raid that I'll probably never see the inside of (lets face it we've only seen the inside of Vault once and it's hard as hell to get people together to do it with our conflicting schedules). I'll still play if you guys want me to get on, just text me and I'll pop on if it's not a bad time for me otherwise I'm going to stay clear of the game for awhile. Hell I might start playing BF4 again or, pending on what my friend tells me tomorrow night, I might break down and buy Advanced Warfare. Haven't really decided yet.
  20. I'd go see this, looks rather interesting. Considering the crap that's been coming out of Hollywood as of late this might renew my hope that good movies can still come out.
  21. I may or may not be on tonight, depends on how motivated I feel to go grind currency for my next armor piece in FFXIV. I have to say the Patience and Time is quite the amazing sniper rifle. Thing has little to no kick making it the perfect rapid shot sniper rifle. Took out four targets with it this morning in a matter of seconds. It also hits like a truck. Hell I might like it more then my Ice Breaker. Also took my chances on the Exotic Engram and got myself the Mask of the Third Man (which is exactly what I wanted). Once it's fully leveled I'll have a helm for my Blade Dancer and a helm for my Gunslinger meaning I'll be extremely effective as both subclasses now. Yay!
  22. I'm with DX, must be a Share Play glitch. Our run was the same as always (much more awesome due to the guy we ran it with, freaking beast he was). I've been noticing weird things in Destiny lately though so it might of been on their end too (like running into weird lag spikes out of nowhere, enemies disappearing even though they weren't killed or being despawned for public events, etc).
  23. Gah, new patch for FFXIV today and now I need to go grind new gear yet again for my Monk. /sigh, here goes 3 weeks of my life again

The only advantages you can get from monetary purchases in gw2 is more inventory/bank space, unlimited use mining/harvest tools, and xp/craft boosters. Everything else is just for vanity purposes.

While a lot of it can make life easier, it isn't so burdensome without it that your pushed to the brink to buy them. I've spent money on some of it because I enjoy the game enough to support a developer that keeps bringing free content via the living world story.

  24. I might be on but it won't be until later tonight. Today is my day to sleep in so I probably won't be able to join in on the fun (most likely won't be on until 7 my time if I do get on).
