Considering how surprisingly good the first season was I'm hoping this season is just as good and it's about damn time. I've been going nuts waiting for this to start back up. Really want to know what happened with Irisa after everything went down the way it did. It's not surprising the game and show aren't really connected since the game takes place in whats left of San Fransisco (it does doesn't it? I mean the Golden Gate Bridge is on the cover of the damn game). It's be hard to connect the two since they're on other sides of the continent from each other. I wouldn't know much outside of what my friend was telling me since he plays it and watches the show (he told me there was a few connections but they were the ones you already mentioned in the last topic). Would be rather interesting if this season does connect the two together, are there any big events being planned in-game currently with the release of the new season so near?

I started building the SMG, all I have left for it is the stock I believe. 32 shots before reload so even if it does less damage my hail of bullets will kill ya I'll make sure to be on during that time (or at least until the 18th, be out of town the 18th-20th).

Oh I'm totally up for some Mercenary Kings action when we're all online next time. Was playing it yesterday morning and having a blast, knocked out a few missions and upgraded to a newer gun (pistol is cool and all but I need something a little more automatic). Reminds me of Metal Slug, one of my all time favorite arcade games.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DLC Campaign
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
/facepalm Really Sledgehammer, really? It's official, the game industry is going to shit if this starts happening. "Hey, buy our game but one thing though. There's no single player campaign, you gotta pay $20 more at a later date to get that. Don't worry though, we're giving you what you really want because all COD really is is a multi-player game." Greedy fuckers. Yes the COD games sp story campaigns usually always suck but this is just ridiculous. -
So, massive blizzard at the end of March >.< I really hate ND sometimes.
-
lmao.
Don't worry Strider.. just look forward to June.. at least it never snows in June. x_x
-
Pfft, in ND it still snows in July (sadly this has happened before). Our weather patterns out here are fucking weird. Damn global warming

Gah, I really need to get back into watching Unskippable. They've made some of the worst video game intro's so much better and some of the best ones so much funnier (and better of course).

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike Official Trailer
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
No prob Sledge, I was just on fucking around in some Conquest matches (and being a beast of a support, I had 189 resupplies on the Operation Locker match I was playing (got me my second Ammo Medal)) and getting better at Engineer (I must get beyond this damn starting rocket launcher, Strider hates it he does). I tried out some NS maps Tuesday night since the dlc wasn't available Tuesday morning when I got home from work. I gave up after one Conquest match due to that horrendous lag you mentioned. I couldn't take more then 5 steps without being killed because apparently the other team was all of a sudden just their (not sure if they were experiencing the lag or not but they didn't seem to be). After that match I went back into Second Assault maps because I don't run into any lag on them. I'm beginning to believe Premium is their beta test for these DLC's and kinda wishing they'd of held off on releasing them 2 weeks early for us if these are the same problems plaguing the PC and XBone versions. I'll probably give them a shot again before I go to bed this morning or before I go to work, depends what I feel like. I will say though I do like Operation Mortar, nice open map with a lot of room to fight (just really sucks with lag).- 6 replies

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike Official Trailer
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Gah, I hate water combat so damn much but that looks so freaking fun especially if we get to use old school cannons. So torn between liking and hating this. Thankfully I'm off on Tuesday so I'll have plenty of time to figure out whether I like this or not.- 6 replies

Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth expansion includes ballistic shield
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
I don't know the exact numbers but every few seconds of fire you took you got 5 xp, which if you can manage not to die for awhile you can wrack up a huge amount of xp. The best way to do it in MW2 was to hope an enemy spawned a sentry turret. Since that thing lasted till destroyed you could stand in front of it all day and wrack up series amounts of xp (it's how I got those 12 levels). As you got higher the rewards diminished as the xp needed to level increased but it was the easiest way to get from 1-12 or even 1-20 in a very short amount of time. Highly doubt BF4's will work the same way, especially since combat also includes vehicles which will decimate a poor guy trying to protect themselves with a shield. Maps like Metro and Locker would be ideal for the type of tactic listed above but I highly doubt Dice will introduce something so broken into their otherwise pretty solid game. Would give people to much of an edge in the earlier levels to gain required xp. However, I only see that working in a TD scenario as Conquest would be rather difficult to find a place to gain xp especially since Conquest matches are always on the move and you're never staying in once place long enough to take advantage of an xp gain like that (though as I said Metro and Locker would be the exceptions since matches always bottleneck at the same locations).- 16 replies

Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth expansion includes ballistic shield
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
Meh, I guess I understand in all fairness why they're doing it this way but honestly this game shouldn't of come out on the 360/PS3. These limitations should of been known prior to making the game for the older generation which should of been a flag not to do so. /sigh, the almighty dollar makes developers make stupid decisions. I highly doubt Bungie will limit Destiny but thats only speculation. This is their first multi-platform title and their first multi-generation title, who knows what will happen. On the topic at hand I'm happy to see a riot shield coming into play. If it's anything like the MW2 shield I'll be more then happy to be the damage sponge for any squad. The shield was so broken in MW2 it wasn't even funny, I went up 12 levels in a single match by just being the target dummy. I'd assume the M320 LVG grenade would bounce off, they bounce off of everything else (god I hate those damn things).- 16 replies

Godsmack was good up until their Oracle CD (the last one they released). That album (with the exception of 2 songs) was complete crap (and this is coming from a huge Godsmack fan). Skip that CD unless your interested in listening (only good news is they're in the studio recording their new album, hopefully it's much better). I won't touch Metallica (personal preference and I still hate them for taking Napster down, bastards). They had a few good songs, don't really understand why they're so big. You covered every reason why I don't listen to rap. I listen to Eminem only because I actually do like his songs ("The Way I Am" being one of my all time favorite songs).

Guess who just got a PS4? This guy! Sadly I have to wait till tonight to do anything with it.

I'm looking forward to Mercenary Kings. I thought about buying it when it came to Steam but never did (no money at the time). Will definitely be picking it up when it comes up. Sadly fantasy and old school has been taking a back seat lately in the game market. Give it a year and I'm sure more games that appeal to you will come out, its just Shooters and what not sell consoles so that's why they're generally the only titles to come out at launch.
-
I'm glad Mercenary Kings will be free.
Yeah, Pchan! I'll have to find some of my old SNES games to play on it.

Any place is better to live in then Arizona, only those who have lived in Arizona will understand. Eh, I can't really complain. Moved my ass out of Arizona 3 years ago and moved back home. Now I'm kind of wishing I'd of stayed in Arizona, it'd be cheaper to live down there then where I'm currently at (currently living in the middle of the Bakken Oil Boom, it's freaking sucks. So many idiots coming up here who just make life more miserable due to their shortsightedness).

Whats up HK? I'm pretty sure everyone of the old members remember you (well those of us that are left, we're a dying breed you know).

I'd give it a 4. It's a really good show and one of the better sci-fi related shows I've seen in a few years. It does have pacing problems as Sledge mentioned which is why I docked it down from a 5 but overall it's a good show. Dorian and John make the show with their interactions between each other and Rudy is great for comic relief. I'd say give it a shot, you won't really lose anything by watching it (except for maybe an hour or two of your time). I really do hope they elaborate more on why Dorian's creator took all those synthetic souls and all those processors. I get the feeling he might be working with the Syndicate to, as you mentioned, make an army of Dorian like androids on in a worst case scenario an army of droids like that assassin. Could really make season 2 interesting if they focus on that. I really want to know more about these human memories Dorian had because, if what I'm thinking is true, this could have far reaching consequences on how synthetic soul came to be and could really implicate his creator for more then a few atrocities.

My thoughts on the wall are similar to what the walls were in Judge Dredd. I'm assuming that outside the wall is either a barren wasteland or a completely lawless zone left over from a previous war (something like Appleseed). The last episode mentioned that there are what can be considered supercities throughout the world that are the only civilized and relatively safe places to live or that's how I took it anyways (plus I'm pretty sure this is taking place in the US, with the city there in being New Pittsburgh (or at least I think so)). I'm thinking we're seeing more of a ravaged world scenario that just so happens to have extremely high tech levels (again like Appleseed). We'll never truthfully know until the next season starts (if there is one, I'm really hoping there is). As for the last episode I thought it did well as a finale. We got a rare look into John's past and what made him into who he is today and we also got a look into just how corrupt the city's police force is (something I started picking up from the start, the ambush on John's unit at the beginning of the series was a little to convenient even if his *spoiler I will not reveal* was working for the Syndicate). I have a very bad feeling that the Captain (who's name I will not try to spell) is in on something far reaching in the police force (dealing with the corruption aspect). She was acting really funny in the last few episodes and I'm really starting to get worried because I like her character but something just seems fishy about her. I'm getting the feeling they're not going far into the Syndicate yet because I think they were afraid of how well this series would do. The Cape (a show that I really liked and got cancelled only 10 eps into the first season) threw a lot of it's plot out in the first few episodes which I think led to it's eventual cancellation, people didn't feel the need to continue watching something that revealed almost everything in the first few eps. If this gets another season I'm sure they'll start really delving into the Syndicate (I mean they left us with that whole "hey there's a spying device in your house that recently uploaded information to a secure server" thing on that one episode) or at least they should. They left us with a lot of plot threads that have yet to be resolved (another being Dorian's human memories, Dorian's creator running off with all that tech, etc).

Vikings Season 2 Episode Discussion (possible spoilers)
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
Finally got around to watching the first episode (though it's all for naught with the new one airing tonight so I'll be behind yet again) and honestly hope it pick up more as we get through the season. This baby drama and political crap is really dragging down my Viking bloodshed aspect. On a happy note I'm glad Floki didn't die, would of quit watching it if he bit the bucket. Most important man in this show right now and the comedy relief at that. Gotta say, he definitely called the betrayal of Rollo. Quite honestly I think he should of been offed in the battle instead of facing a faux trial like that. I'm pretty sure Bjorn paid the law man because that's the same coin Ragnar gave him which makes sense. Ragnar can't be caught doing crap like this or he'll be offed by one of his men considering they all wanted his death so he used his son to do so (while explaining why he couldn't judge his brother). I see this biting Ragnar in the ass later on this season because Rollo has proven more than once he's not to be trusted. Watching the season preview at the end of the episode it looks like Lagertha and Ragnar might be getting back together if the scenes can be trusted but I'm honestly glad she left him for what he did. Male heirs do mean everything to fathers in Viking culture but to sleep around on your wife just to get them is wrong. Plus the way he treated her I'm surprised she just didn't kill him (or cut you know what off) because we all know she could. I'm honestly surprised Bjorn left with her considering how close he was to his father (up until the whole sleeping with Kwenthrith) but I'm glad he went. He'd of been pretty damn miserable living with his father (plus, again from the previews, he looks like he became a pretty big bad ass, if who I'm assuming is him in the previews really is, by going with his mother). Hopefully this season will prove just as good as the last and can't wait for tonight's episode (even if I won't get around to watching it till next week). -
God yes!!!!! You don't know how much I miss this show. My dad and I used to watch it all the freaking time. Ah the nostalgia, just for this man you deserve all the internets. God I love that theme. Also the Viking theme has got to be my all time favorite out of TV shows in recent years. So damn good. I had to go find all of her music after hearing it.

I do mean SWTOR. One of the very few MMO's that actually have a story driving the game forward and in it's case a story for every class, a rare gem in my eyes. Trying to finish up my Inquisitor's story so I can experience the Makeb content then I'll decide whether or not I keep my subscription active or cancel it so I don't have to pay for it anymore. Preferred members still get pretty good access to everything so I'm not worried about not being able to finish my other characters up, I just really want to finish my Inquisitor. I've only ever grouped once in the game and that was on Alderaan to help someone in need. He thanked me for my help and I'd gladly group again but the Flashpoints don't interest me, I out level content too quickly (due to my stack on XP boost items and rest xp), and Operations aren't what I'm looking for once I hit endgame. You think I would group more though, being a tank and all but no one ever invites me into groups plus it seems most planets (with the exception of Corellia) are dead on my server.

*watches in horror and amazement* They've got mechs now. Good lord Eppy what have you unleashed? *rips open another portal as his minions gather into a defensive posture* Time to put your training into effect little ones. Come forth my pets. *hundreds of mechanical panthers come forth with the Chibi Striders climbing on top* Not as impressive as you mechs I admit but they will do the job but they are not all that I have at my disposal. *hundreds of mechanical hawks come forth armed with various weaponrs* Ride forth my minions, defend us with your new tools. Do not allow any of the vile creatures through. *the Chibi Striders charge forth upon their panther mounts with hawks in tow to intercept the newly armed Chibi Eppys*
