Hmmm, I just don't know about this. Trailer looks good but I hate the new look for Robocop, I'm sorry black just does not work. I guess I'll have to reserve judgement till it comes out but I honestly don't think I'll be going to see this in theaters.

I've seen Shaun of the Dead more times then I can count and do not remember any guy raping a female zombie (in fact I can't recall any scenes that even resemble that). Shaun of the Dead is a great movie, in fact it's one of the only zombie movies I can watch (because I hate the genre) because it makes fun of zombie movies. Extremely funny. Hot Fuzz is just awesome, loved every minute of it. I've been wanting to see this movie since I first saw the trailer, now if only it'd come to my local theater.

That's scary how that actually all rolls out so nicely for console (and I honestly never put much thought into why Blizzard watered it down so much). It's not surprising though since Blizzard has said they wanted to get back into making console games (I point to their failure with Ghost 5 years ago). Sigh, I've lost almost all respect I had for Blizzard back when D3 was released and what they've done with WoW. The only thing I respect them for now is SCII (which, no matter how much I hate it at times, is still an awesome game). This is also the main reason I love the Torchlight series, so much like D2 and so freaking awesome (should be, the co-designers of Diablo and Diablo II were part of the development team).
-
I agree there sadly but it's Blizzard trying to turn Diablo into an MMO instead of leaving it true to its Action RPG roots. 99 levels and leaving it an offline game would of made this game so much better. Well that and if it kept the D2 skill trees (then again this is what happens when you let the D2 development team walk out the door to start their own studio).

Meh, while interested I'm still far from impressed. Considering they fucked the dog on their always online bullshit I won't be buying this (I still haven't beaten D3). Though I find it funny we went from fighting Hell to fighting Heaven.

The problem is they filmed this like a reality show so the drama (outside of the show) is pretty non-existent by what I gather from reading Twitter feeds (I follow Yaya on Twitter and haven't really seen any of the drama you saw in the show in her convo's with the cast members on the show). This also cuts out the time to see them craft their costumes (real reason I follow Yaya on Twitter is she posts periodic updates of current costumes she's working on at various stages (she's making a Moulin Rouge style Snow White costume right now for Dragoncon)) which is one of the main reasons I started watching the show. By what I gather from reading tweets from the show's cast and other various cosplayers very few con's hand out cash prizes or even have cosplay competitions so it's a very small aspect (in fact I never heard of it before the show (when I went to ACEN in 2005 there was no competition that I could find, just a cosplayer's ball (that was pretty neat))). Sadly the show, by what I gather, is going to focus solely on this aspect (which sucks). Ohwell, I'll still watch it since most of my other shows are still on break so I have nothing better to watch.

I caught the premier when it aired. It's interesting and since it's on after Face Off I'll most likely continue watching it (it's only 6 episodes long). Don't really know if this will be a good thing for the cosplay community though (lot of negative feedback flying around on the net about it, a lot of people don't like that SyFy is airing this).

What GG said. I'll repeat my thoughts from my status update DX pointed out. This show and the movies are not for everyone, while this is an extremely thought provoking anime don't expect to get everything handed to you explanation wise. Anno has always been known for making his viewers think more in-depth about his shows, making you find your own answers instead of handing everything to you on a silver plate. While it may piss you off (I have a love/hate relationship with this whole franchise) it's just how it is, get used to it. The movies are a complete rebuild of the series, as the name suggests. In terms of stuff carried over from the series I'll break it down slightly so as not to ruin anything for those who do want to watch this. The first movie, for the most part, is a retelling of the first few angel attacks and the first part of the series. Some new stuff is added in (more so about establishing the characters, some characters are not the same as they were in the series). The second movie retells some of the next few angel attacks but for the most part is almost all new. New takes on how certain events take place and a re-characterization of some of the primary characters (Asuka for one is, for the most part, a whole different character (still maintains here pissy attitude though)). The third movie is all new content and gives some characters (Kaworu is given a much bigger role in this one) more screen time and purpose. As I said in my status update it's a complete mind fuck, I'm still trying to piece some things together that don't make sense (and figure out where the 3rd movie we were promised went, anyone who's seen movie 2 will know what I'm talking about). Sadly, if you hated Shinji in the series, you're going to want to castrate him after watching these movies. He's a lot more whiny and I honestly think Anno hates him because he's given one kick to the nuts after another in rapid succession. It's quite sad actually. Instrumentation of Humanity is still the goal and underlying plot in the movies but we're not heading in the same direction as the series did (or at least from my perception). There's more of a sinister feeling behind it now then there was in the series but I can't go more into it without completely ruining it for those who want to watch the show. This isn't really seen until the 3rd movie but you get hints of it in movie 2. Overall only watch it if your interested in what the Rebuild is doing or if you were a fan of the TV series and the 2 movies that accompany them. As GG said watch the first movie, if you don't like it then skip the rest of the movies because you're not going to like them.

It airs on Syfy (new episodes every Wed. night).

I caught a few eps last week during my boredom that was vacation. Honestly don't really know what to think about it but it is quite interesting. Really enjoyed the turning humans into cybernetic life episode, was rather thought provoking. I'll probably continue watching it through the season if I remember it's on (new eps air during new eps of Duck Dynasty so I'll probably skip them in favor up DD (yes I watch Duck Dynasty, don't judge me)). Yea I thought the Bigfoot episode was rather lackluster but was still quite interesting. Could of done without the supposed Bigfoot poop though, that was just weird.

Microsoft Reverses Again: Kinect Not Required
Strider Hiryu replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Honestly MS grow a pair and stand your ground. Quit pulling shit out just to make people happy, you'll eventually just piss us off for being whiny little pussies. (yes I'm being serious here, I respected them for sticking to their guns because people need to realize (yes even us) that this will eventually happen whether we like it or not). Sigh, MS keeps shooting itself in the foot. I'm getting pissed off more now that they're taking this shit out then I was when they announced that it was required. -

Yea Sledge it maxes at level 20 so in your case you'll have 7 levels soldier and when your done 13 levels of whatever Jedi class you chose (I'm assuming Guardian). -

Meh, I just left the AI on whatever was default for them. I only cared about my own ass As for teammates I ran with Jolee (cranky old man Jedi, who could pass that up) and HK-47 on my Darkside character (I love HK-47, he's so freaking hilarious). As for my light side character I don't really remember who I ran with outside of Jolee. I kinda mixed and matched the other companion as I played through. -

Yea Sentinel/Watcher was extremely nasty in 2. Gah, talking about this makes me want to play it again. Sadly it doesn't play well on the 360 (damn crappy backwards compatibility) or at least on mine it doesn't. -

Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
I always prefered playing the Sentinel since it's my play style (in fact my first play through was a Sentinel), plus the sneak attack bonuses they get in combat made me feel more powerful (especially since I was all melee and only used Force Heal). Guardian always felt like easy mode to me since it's OP due to it's strengths in melee combat (plus my fastest play through was on a Guardian). Consular just made me feel week, especially considering I did it as dark side (death field only heals so much and I just couldn't use health packs fast enough, made for a lot of frustration on my part). Light/Dark only plays a role on how you affect your crew (not as much as in did in 2 however), not on who will join you. I believe I killed that companion as well, twice and completely by accident. First time through I didn't know they could join you and second time I did in for kicks (didn't really like that companion). Some companions like you more pending on what side you play as (like Ordo likes you Dark whereas Bastila likes you Light side as examples) but that's really all it does for you. -
Watched Evangelion 3.33 last night, talk about a mind fuck. I still don't understand what the hell was going on
-
No, no they didn't. In fact, imo, it made things worse in most aspects and did little to explain everything that I had questions about.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (spoilers)
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Video Games
As DX said it's just some cut scenes and you get to pick which Jedi branch you want to train in (Consular, Guardian, Sentinel). I don't believe I ever paid for the droid on either of my characters (played twice through light side and once dark). Honestly I was pissed when Taris got bombed back to the stone age after all that work. Damn you Malak. Was interesting to see what happened to Taris in TOR though. Dantooine has quite a few side quests to do (as well as picking up another companion (if you choose too)). Not quite as long as Taris (in fact most planets won't be as long as Taris (though Tatooine can feel like an eternity)) but it can take awhile if you choose to do everything the planet has to offer. -
Akira live action film is back on with a slimmer budget.

I was actually looking forward to the Battle Angel movie(s) since Cameron was the one doing them. Out of all the directors in Hollywood he'd be the only one to do them right. Sadly with it getting pushed back every six months I've lost hope in a BA movie ever getting made. Quite honestly there really is nothing he could screw up, I mean the author retconned the ending so he could make Last Order (and the ending he wanted to) and Cameron has 9 books to choose from for the movie (I honestly hope he chooses book three just for the motorball action). A few changes here and there wouldn't piss me off unless he decides to rewrite the whole damn story. Sadly MS decided to make a TV series instead of a movie, wonder how that is going to turn out. That's why I like the deals Ubisoft made with Hollywood for their movies, they retain complete creative control for all title planned on being made into movies (Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, etc). Hollywood had no choice in the matter and they actually caved (which surprised the hell out of me). -

Honestly that's the only way it should be made. The Japanese live-action films have been getting a lot better as of late. I've heard wonderful things about the live-action Kenshin movie (haven't watched it yet but I do have it downloaded, just waiting for the time to sit down and watch it) and though it changed the story slightly I though the Mushishi movie was well done. Honestly they'd stick to the story and not change crap like they plan for this pile of shit. Still trying to figure out why they wanted to make this in the first place especially if they're not planning at aiming it us, the old school fans that actually know what this movie is about. -

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2013-05-29/writer/live-action-akira-would-have-been-set-on-japanese-owned-manhattan That's where they were headed with this piece of crap, hence why I said they should just cancel the damn thing already. -
Oddly enough I thought Tom Cruise did a wonderful job in The Last Samurai, it's one of the only movies I actually like him in. As long as Keanu can pull it off (and not act like he usually does) I think this will be a good movie. Seventh Son looks good but honestly they have the same feel to them. Then again that could be because I've basically given up on Hollywood making good movies anymore.

I'm not afraid to admit I actually liked the movie, I thought it was great when it came out (then again I was 7 when it came out). -
Meh, I was originally going to hold out for this phone since I actually do like Motorola (considering my last two phones, the Droid and Droid Bionic, were Motorola and I never had any problems with either phone (I still use my droid as an mp3/tiny tablet)) but I'm happy I didn't. I'll wait till I actually see customer reviews before I judge it completely because I usually don't trust tech reviews but honestly this phone doesn't seem to be any better then the phones currently on the market. Plus I love my S4 to death and can't see myself parting with it.
