  1. True, some people it is cheaper to keep a PC upgraded. I'm in the same situation having to keep my upgraded for various projects and what not but the average person will find buying a console once every 5+ years to be cheaper. I'm not one for graphics, never have been but I'd love it if I could get my damn $600 graphics card working in my damn laptop. The on board makes it freaking hard to play Skyrim >.< Modding games has never been my forte. I do it for certain games (Civ 5, Torchlight, and The Sims. I do have Skyrim modded but half of them don't work as well with my current graphics problems) but I'd just rather play the game, beat it, and retire it to the pile of games I have sitting in my closet. Hence why I like console gaming. Plus the games I like playing and want aren't always on the PC (Destiny for one). That's just beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes.
  2. Okay, I'm somewhat impressed now. I just watched the multiplayer video over at GS and I might just pick this up.
  3. GG if you think this is bad go play games on the computer, when your upgrading components almost every year or so to play the newest game. Console gaming is a lot cheaper and these are the first new consoles in 7 years (no slims do not counts, same thing just smaller). It's not like the the previous generations, where every 4 years or so you were forking up money for the new consoles. I used to complain about no BC but now I'm with DX. Keep your old consoles, it's not that hard to do. I still own my PS2 and my original Xbox (since 360 BC was a joke, a handful of games that didn't even play correctly) to play my old games. Trading in consoles just isn't worth it and getting rid of them the minute they're obsolete is retarded. And yes DX Netflix still does that on the 360. The minute your internet speed dips it needs to be buffered yet again and half the time the audio doesn't even line up correctly after that happens (gets very annoying).
  4. I'm actually quite impressed with what they showed of Destiny. Looks like its going to be a blast to play, especially with public events like that.
  5. This looks wonderful. I was kinda hoping for info on Rainbow 6: Patriots but I'll take a new IP.
  6. Still gotta watch the press conference but after reading that I'm sold on the PS4. Sorry MS, you done went and fucked up. Strider is back to supporting Sony.
  7. About time, I've been waiting for what feels like forever for this. I loved the first one so this one should be a blast.
  8. Sad to say this GG but why are you posting an opinion on this trailer if you haven't even seen the movie prior to it? Lord Marshall is the title the leader of the necromongers carries and guess what, Riddick is the current Lord Marshall. Hence my problem with this movie already. It makes not sense.
  9. Welcome to the new age of gaming and entertainment GG. Get used to it, it's not going anywhere. I came to that realization years ago. As long as there's a demand for this to happen it's going to happen.
  10. But that's what made WaW MP so much more fun. Nothing's better then running out of a house and running smack dab into a tank barrel Gah I miss WaW, so much fun I'm honestly quite interested in Ghosts now after today. The campaign actually sounds like it'll be a blast.
  11. They said it has a blu-ray drive in it (when whats his nuts went over the console specs). Quite honestly I think this is a rather big gamble for MS but it has me interested, more so then the PS4. The name is rather corny (I actually liked the Infinite name that was circling the net the last couple weeks). Some of the new features definitely caught me attention and I actually like the consoles look. Once more information comes out and we get more game footage during E3 I'll be making my decision about whether or not I continue into the next gen or not. For the first time in 2 years I'm actually interested in a CoD game. Ghosts looks amazing, that's all I have to say.
  12. From what little is known about the movie apparently the first part of the movie (don't know how long) is supposed to cover what happened after CoR ended so there will be some people reprising their roles. This is what I've gleamed from the research I've done. Sadly it's not enough to make me want to see it (I'll watch it but I'm not getting overly excited about it).
  13. Outside of Costume Quest I really didn't want any of the other games so I decided to skip this. I've always wanted to play Brutal Legend but I'd rather get a copy of it for the 360, not for the PC.
  14. So what happened to being Lord Marshall? We just going to conveniently throw that plot point from the last movie away to go back to the whole big bad monsters versus Riddick routine again? Don't get me wrong I loved Pitch Black but this whole things been done. I was hoping for, I don't know, a little bit more on the whole Necromongers front and maybe him using his new found army. Gah, think I'll pass on this and wait for Netflix to get it. Don't feel like wasting money to see this one.
  15. Never heard of it but after watching that I now know I'll be following another series when it airs. Can't wait.
  16. X'D I know but what was most surprising was her getting with him. I mean I could tell he had feelings for her but wow to just jump right on into it in the Lawkeepers's Office. Talk about giving into the passion of the moment.
  17. That's a good thing, I'm starting to like the show more and more but would love if they picked up the pace a bit more and started going into what Rafe's son found in the mines because it's starting to bug me (because I really want to know). Last nights episode was pretty good with Irisa revealing her past but was not really expecting what happened at the end of the episode.

No access to a PS3 (hell I've never actually played one). I thought about buying one but since the new consoles are do out this year I just don't see the point. Eh, I hear you about being burned out. I've honestly all but stopped buying games for my 360 (the last ones I actually purchased were Halo 4, AC3, and ZoE HD. I did buy Soul Caliber 5 off of Games on Demand only because it was $20 and I do love a senseless fighting game) even though there are plenty I want to play. The only two games I have planned to buy this year are Remember Me (already pre-ordered, don't know why but the game looks fantastic and sounds interesting) and I plan on buying GTA V if I have the money around then. I'll have to try Spec Ops. I've heard it was an intense story. I'll probably drop by Rock 30 (my towns version of Gamestop) and see if they have any copies for cheap.
  19. I know Blizzard will keep your characters indefinitely if you quit playing (I quit for a year (as in paying) and my characters were still there. I've quit for good 3 years ago so I don't know if they're still there or not). As for TOR I'm not a 100% sure but from what a friend of mine has told me his was still there after he quit playing for 5 months and recently started playing again (I've never actually quit paying even though I can rarely play it anymore due to my stupid internet (damn ISP)). I highly doubt they would toss them out though since it's now F2P and after the initial 700,000 subscribers quit playing the servers are finally starting to get full again (they went from like 20+ servers US side to 8 about 5-6 months ago due to the massive exodus and no characters were lost during the transition that I know of, I know my server is packed at peak times (thank god I'm a subscriber, I don't have to wait in queues like the masses of free players do)). Then again they might eventually to help clear out server clutter.

Eh, honestly as long as they placed priority on gameplay and story the dated graphics aren't all that bad. This is the first game I've played that Insomniac has made so I can't say much about previous works but honestly this stacks up pretty well graphics wise (yea it's no BF3 but hey not every company places priority on making the game look great). Character models could be better, I won't deny that but I'm sure this game suffered from the same thing all EA games suffer from and that's being rushed out so they can make money. That or Insomniac just didn't feel they needed to do a Ratchet and Clank graphics overhaul on it. Who knows. As I said above the gameplay is identical to almost all third-person cover based shooters but the story is rather interesting and the fuse weapons add an interesting element to the game (the other guns kinda suck). I've never touched any of the Left for Dead games so I have no real comparison for whether or not the AI acts like in it. I've seen vids and watched my roommate play the original Left 4 Dead and I noticed some of the same things but I'll chock it up to the Gears AI and say the AI will get the job done but most of the time they'd rather sit 20 meters back with their thumbs up their asses then help kill enemies (the red head chick will help, she's the healer and will be there if you go down to revive but the other two seem to feel they don't need to do anything, at least in the first part of the demo). The second part of the demo the guy with the Magshield will be a life saver as he actually steps up to help but the other two run around like dumbasses. It's still amusing watching them run around getting shot at or watching them get stuck behind cover and not move until you reach the objective.
  21. Outside of new armor, vanity pets, cartel packs (which give you a mix of armor, pets, titles, rare crafting materials, etc), and rare speeders the only other thing to get with cartel coins are xp boosts (for general grinding, flashpoints/operations, warzones, and space missions), unlocking subscriber only bonuses (like more character slots, access to certain areas (like section X), more access to flashpoints/operations/space missions (limited for anyone who's not a subscriber)), unlocking pc races not usable for your side (like Sith Purebloods for republic or Miraluka for the Empire), and various other things there is nothing that can be used to give someone an advantage. Really the cartel market and coins were introduced to give those not willing to pay to play the ability to gain access to the stuff we subscribers have access too for a small amount of money. http://www.swtor.com/free/features. this is basically a good rundown of what people can use cartel coins to buy (any circle not fully filled means its limited).

Honestly do graphics really mean that much? I've played the demo and the graphics looked fine to me. Then again I don't place much stock in graphics, gameplay and story is all that matters to me. I played the demo by myself last night and actually enjoyed it. Nothing really special about the game outside of the fuse abilities guns have (the asian looking chicks gun is pretty fun, put enough rounds into an enemy and it creates a blackhole. Tag a bunch of enemies with it and you'll start a blackhole chain reaction, tis quite amusing), which make things rather interesting. It's basically your typical third person shooter with cover based tactics. I can only assume it's a lot more fun with more people because the AI for your companions is pretty lackluster.
  23. I honestly found the ending fitting for the season. Left enough questions to make me come back when season 2 starts (not many though, I know Ragnar's story very well since I've always been interested in Vikings since I was a child). Plus you can't expect much, they really didn't know whether or not if they'd get another season.
  24. Like any MMO you pick up new weapons as you fight mobs and finish quests/defeat boss mobs. Certain weapons and armor can be modded to make them better then the normal green weapons that have fixed stats. The modded lightsabers are able to take 4 different types of mods, 2 of which are crystals and hilts (other two are enhancements and mods). You can buy crystals on the cartel market if you have the coins, hence where the micro-transactions came into play. There's only one crystal you can buy currently (orange-yellow I believe, I had excess cartel coins since I get 500 a month for being a subscriber so I bought one) but you get a chance of getting a crystal in the packs they sell on the cartel market. Orange (modable) lightsabers can be acquired through packs as well (which I think Kite was talking about as hilts cannot be bought in the market currently (I might be mistaken, I haven't been on in over a month)). Basically it can get expensive if your spending money on cartel coins to spend in the cartel market (I honestly feel the cartel market is one of the worst things EA forced into the game, then again I still think TOR should be subscription based (though going F2P has certainly help bolster server populations)). It's actually cheap to keep a certain look for a lightsaber as long as you know a crafter since crystals and hilts can be crafted by anyone that has artifice as a crew skill (like me).
  25. I won't deny that there are a lot of crap Star Wars games out there (Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles anyone) but EA is the worst company to let pick it up. With what they have done to TOR (and yes just about everything bad and wrong with TOR can be linked back to EA fucking up what Bioware had planned not to mention them rushing the game in the end) I just don't see anything good coming of this. Thank god TOR doesn't require an Origin account, otherwise I wouldn't play it (when I can play it ). Honestly I'm just mostly pissed because 1313 was cancelled. That was the one game I was actually really looking forward to.
