Personally, I'd go with the Western Digital (I swear by them) then again this is also from a guy who's never used a Seagate product (I don't know I hear so many bad things about them, then again I hear the same about WD but I've had nothing but good experiences with WD drives so far (have 2 120's that have lasted me for the last 3 years and haven't gone down or anything yet). The Seagate one will run you $167 + tax (at newegg.com and $224 + tax at Best Buy) if you order online (hence why I gave the Best Buy price also). As I said it's entirely up the preference but even if the WD only has a 1 year warranty they are known to last a long while (plus Best Buy usually tries to talk you into taking an extra warranty on top of it with them (or so they roped me in with my laptop and my printer purchases)). Plus it keeps you in the $154 price range. In the long run I think WD is the way to go (there I go sounding like a spokesperson for them).

You're evil you are, making fun of others. Bah who am I kidding it's all fun. So it's turning out like most of the other topics here isn't it DX? Man what happened to the series discussions.

Huh? You mean we have fanboys here? How come no one ever told me? Man, I'm always left out. *cries in a corner* All joking aside, you learn to live with it Mathias. Come to my Game Development class once and you'll see fanboyism at it's most terrifying (in fact just come to any of my classes, it's the same people everyday). I get to put up with it 20 hours a week (actually more if you consider my one roommate). Hence why I don't exactly get all worked up in game topics here (I just post relative information and my two cents, after that I leave and never go back). I take it this is in response to GG's PS3 topic, I haven't been in there since I posted. Been getting hectic has it?

360 and PS3 have the same graphics with very minor differences between games on both consoles (PS3 does Texturing and Lighting a lot better then the 360 (from what I've seen)). This might change of course when developers start tapping into the potential of the PS3 but as it stand there are only minor differences. (just FYI GG as you haven't played either) It's quite possible to get 10 years out of the PS3 Myk, I don't know how you can't see it. The PS2 had 7 years on it when the PS3 was finally announced and released (and the PS2 dominated game sales from when it came out till it was phased out). Frankly PC gaming is becoming a relic of the past, true it'll still be around but it's nowhere near being able to out beat console sales or console game sales as people these days would rather buy a console then continually spend money upgrading their PC's, it's more cost effective. Plus the PS3's true capabilities have yet to be tapped (evidence being the current games). Based on the specs of the PS3 this beast is quite capable of claiming the lead once more games come out that truly tap the systems capabilities (because I'm sad to say the 360's capabilities are damn near tapped out and the Wii is just a joke (it's got nothing to tap, being a slimmed down Gamecube and all)) as well as lasting for 10 years on the market. Based on everything I've been reading since the next gen consoles came out I already figured the PS3 would eventually take the lead. The 360 is being pushed to it limits as of late (Lost Odyssey being a very good example of this with it's amazing graphics) and we're not really seeing anything new come out on the system worth buying. The Wii is a complete joke when it comes to being a next gen system. It's only selling point is the party/family aspect it has going which might help it now but when we start seeing what the PS3 can really do this won't help it any. People these days buy games for one of three things (what I've noticed, pay no heed if you don't agree. Just my observations) Pretty graphics, tons of violence, and multiplayer gaming (be it party gaming (like Guitar Hero/Rock Band/Wii Sports/etc.) or FPS (COD4/Halo 3/etc)). What used to sell in the past doesn't anymore and Nintendo is going to need to learn that and learn it quick (really I see no point in buying a Wii unless it's for the Virtual Console, no other game makes me want to buy a Wii). Of course take that as you will. I'm privy to more knowledge then most other people since, as most know, I'm going to school for this type of stuff and I get to talk to industry professionals on a daily basis (my teachers still work in the industry or have only quit recently).

Since moving to Arizona my allergies haven't hit me like the used to back in North Dakota (maybe because of all the deadness down here, that or because I know live in a desert). Back home Spring - Fall were complete hell on me as I'm allergic to pollen (isn't it grand) and those months have all the lovely flowers blooming and what not. Plus is Fall it's harvest season so all that took it's toll on my poor nose. Took a generic brand of allergy medicine that works wonders for me (don't know the name but man does it work). I don't get as bad as most though, just a runny nose and sneezing. If we were talking animals I'm damn near deathly allergic to cats but we're not going there with this one so yea.

Happy Birthday AC!
-
Hah, they can't lie about their age (though my mother tries to all the time). I know both of their birth dates and have since I was 5 (thank you Grandparents). I'm pretty good at pointing out my Mom's age (to her frustration). They're both in their forties (with my father turning 50 here in a couple of years).

Gas at $3.50 a gallon; oil spikes to $117 a barrel
Strider Hiryu replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
Theres a couple Circle K's here in Tempe that are over $3.50 atm. I'm really glad I don't have my car anymore, then again I feel bad for my roommate who drives me everywhere (I do help pay gas though). -

As goku pointed out it's not overly weird Veda/CB had no prior information on the Trinity's. As we learned their Solar Furnaces were fakes and as goku said they had access to Veda through Nena's Haro (which for some reason or another ended in their possession). I highly doubt anyone outside of CB and the new organization founded at the end of S1 will have access to Gundams. As we've seen the three sides had no access to the technology behind the Gundams (GN Drives/Solar Furnaces) and were only given access to them toward the end of S1 through leeks in CB intelligence, which was fake to begin with (but still gave them the power needed to beat the Gundams back in the end). S2 is most likely, don't quote me on this, gonna be the new United Earth government (whatever it's called, I don't remember if a name was given at the end of ep 25) vs. the new organization formed by that green haired kid at them end (or they might be sided with each other, they were vague on his stance in the end). I have a feeling CB will be playing a role similar to what Jamil and crew played in Gundam X, they won't be sided with either group but will be working to end the strife caused between the two sides. Like I said don't quote me on that as they were extremely vague as to what direction S2 will be going in as everything has changed dramatically since the beginning. Who really knows with this director. The way FMA ended it could be anyone's guess as to how Gundam 00 will end.

Difference is basically you get a bigger HD with the Elite then you do the normal one otherwise they are the same. Quite frankly go with the one that has what games you want on it. Personally I'd suggest 360 until more games come out for the PS3 and they start tapping the true potential of the console.

Oh yea, we have our Char clone now EVA or we will in the 2nd season. Hooray for masked men who are supposed to be dead /sigh Well now I'm at a crossroad, to continue or not. Not to thrilled with how S1 ended (though I'll admit it's nice they didn't leave us with any major cliffhangers). Rest will now be in spoilers so look if you dare.

Which is easier? Trignometry or Math for Liberal Arts?
Strider Hiryu replied to slippers's topic in Rants and Raves / Issues
When I took college algebra (basic college math) at my last college I'd of died without having taken Trig in high school because college algebra picks up where you left off in Trig and works its way from there going into Quadratics and shit. Then again your college might have different standards then mine did for Math (plus at my last college it was either Basic College Algebra, College Algebra, Statistics, and 4 Calc classes to choose from when you had to take math). In my opinion Trig is a lot easier to understand then what they'll have you do in math (believe me, word problems on a college level are a pain to solve and require more abstract thinking then they did in the past). Frankly take the lit class. I'm horrible in English based classes yet they're so much easier then Math classes, especially on the college level. -
On the very rare occasion. Been awhile though (and yes he's never on AIM). Happy B-Day anyways Eli!

*chains him up and throws him back in the closet* I thought I told you to stay in there (j/k) Welcome back Kuwa

X'D Priceless Epples, priceless. I will admit, Hot Fuzz is an awesome movie (but Shaun of the Dead was better).
-
Happy Easter!!! Roommate and I are watching Hot Fuzz right now, yea great Easter.
-
Buddy I highly doubt the dead will be walking anytime soon. You do realize this is the director that did Full Metal Alchemist so it's safe to bet that once someone dies in this series they ain't coming back.
-
*stabs Eppy* Bah, ignore him GG. Go rewatch your RahXephon then go watch Slayers. Not watching Slayers afterward though will require severe punishment.

FFXI is more story driven since WoW has not freaking story to back its quests, just lore that they keep constantly rewriting changing past events that took place in Warcraft, Warcraft II, and Warcraft III. The only real reason I could see myself going to FFXI is for the story (was watching my roommate doing Aht Urghan (sp?) missions over the last two days and the storyline was pretty damn interesting). Only thing I wish WoW had. Apparently Dancers can solo pretty damn easily by what my roommate tells me (I have yet to see it done as he doesn't have Dancer unlocked yet but he's read up on it and asked friends who have lvl 75 dancers). What you were seeing Dubie was probably raids, which really have no quests to them (sure there are a few but it's mostly just gear running, waste of time imo (you'll never catch me raiding)). You just get 10-25 people together (40 in the old days) and go kill bosses for gear (a lot like your big fights (Kirin (sp?) rings a bell, watched my roommate do a run). And 56ker I understood nothing of what you just said, bunch of gibberish.
-
As one should Dubie, as one should. I've seen all three versions of FFXI (360, PS2 and PC (my roommate has all three versions)) and really it looks no different then WoW (though some of the spell casting animations look a lot nicer then WoW's). Parties are the devil, hikikomoris no like parties. Like the light they are X'D
-
Sadly watching my roommate play it bores the hell out of me (and he's trying to get me to play it. Not my thing, you guys are to party oriented for my liking. I'd rather go out and solo). Quite frankly there really is no difference in the graphics that I can see outside of WoW having a more cartoon look to it.
