Exclusive DragonBall Online Gameplay Video Revealed!
Strider Hiryu replied to gokuDX7's topic in Video Games
I'm not gonna lie to you, I died a little inside watching that. It makes me utterly sad that they're making a DB MMO. Sad thing is I'll probably end up playing it if it comes to the US. -
Since I hardly use cash anymore (gotta love debit cards) I don't have one anymore. I used to have a cup from Space Aliens (a restaurant, big blue alien it was) that I used to store my change. I usually just throw my change in one of my dresser drawers until I need it for something. My parents on the other hand had the most awesome thing for keeping change, a huge ass Asti (sp?, sue me for not knowing how to spell an alcoholic drink) bottle my mom bought for my dad one year. Thing was beyond huge and held so much change, I almost took it with me when I left.

Doesn't really matter how they base the series, they should still be giving us background info on everything to fill us in. I'm sorry but I don't like series that withhold information like this. What I meant by dropping the series when season 1 is done is based on the "Throne" Gundams and their pilots. This is really something that is not needed in the series. It had enough political intrigue and story to keep itself going without needing to introduce three new Gundams. They're adding more crap to explain in an already congested story. They're basically writing themselves into the grave with this because now they have three more Gundams to explain, three more character back stories to go into, and go into detail about what organization they work for or why they're held secret from the rest of Celestial Being. I normally like how this director thinks but he's digging himself into a hole he might not be able to dig himself out of with all this extra information he's adding into this (you gotta remember we still don't know why Celestial Being is doing what it's doing, they've never given us a clear explanation as to what brought all this on. Secondly we have five Gundams that have never been talked about in detail (Exia, Dynames, Kyrios, Nadheel, and Virtue. Also the original Gundam from the first ep). We also have four pilots we have very little to no back story on as well as information of the two Observers we have seen (the Chinese chick and the UN Guy) as well as a space ship crew we have no back story on as well. Plus we have three nations we have no idea how they were formed and what they are all about. We've also haven't been told the full back story on the HRL's super soldier program. I could keep going on here but I won't). This is the main reason why I really haven't enjoyed many Gundam series outside of the UC timeline. Bandai just wants to sell models because its their main source of revenue for the Gundam franchise and as such they sell themselves short on story and character development to add in as many Gundams as they can into a series because Gundam models sell better then Grunt suit models.

I read your displeasure with the ep after watching it myself (I tend to read the new ep discussions, I just don't participate anymore). About the only redeeming quality 00 has now is the awesome new Opening it has (god I love that song). I might be going out on a limb here but I see the Trinity being the new bad guy on the block soon. Chock it up to the crimson GN particles or just my sneaking suspicion but I highly doubt they're here to work with our current Meisters. The way the older "brother" talked (Johan I think is his name, really didn't care to memorize his name) at the end of the episode makes it seem they have nothing to do with Celestial Being, that they were just there because whoever commands them wanted them to help Celestial Being in that fight. Plus the way the Observers were talking there makes me think the "Thrones" are not part of Celestial Being because they cannot account for the three solar engines used within and the fact that they had no idea (when they are supposedly Celestial Beings eyes and ears) makes me think this also. True Veda could be withholding this information and only supplying info on a need to know basis (which someone brought up in that discussion) but I highly doubt it would keep something like this from Sumeragi, who is the main tactician for Celestial Being's missions and is one of the main reasons Celestial Being's plans work out (I'm sorry but her plans are what does it, as much as I love seeing Gundams underpowered like they should be the four "main" Gundams could not get through some of the shit they are without Sumeragi's well laid plans). Then again this series confuses the hell out of me with it's major plot twists. The only reason I'm still watching is to find out more about these solar engines and GN particles (as I said I'm a tech/science geek and this just astounds me) as well as to learn more of Lockon's past (as much as I mocked his name to begin with he's turned out to be my favorite character from the show). The rest is moot in my opinion. If this continues on as it is I'll be dropping it after the first season is done.

Why do I get the feeling the Trinity is going to ruin this series? We just had to add three more Gundams didn't we? Four was bad enough and now three more, gah. What happened to the days when only one Gundam was needed? On top of this these Gundams seem just a tad bit overpowered in my opinion.

Console Gaming annihilates PC Gaming in '07
Strider Hiryu replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Eh, it might eventually happen (since starting my major I've noticed a few trends with my studies). Not going to say in out lifetime probably but I doubt it'll be along forever. PC Gaming is taking a turn for the worse and has been for the last few years but thats really a discussion for another topic. -
Console Gaming annihilates PC Gaming in '07
Strider Hiryu replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Is it really that surprising? It was only a matter of time considering how good consoles are becoming now and considering you only need to upgrade once every 5-6 years it's much more cost effective also. I'm just waiting for PC gaming to become obsolete. -
Happy B-Day aqu!!!!!! *hands you a box of Vash approved donuts* Don't eat them all in one sitting now

*drools* Yes sir, thats looking to be quite a fine game. Can't wait till it's released.

Heh, I need to find my discs first. Since I moved three months ago I still haven't unpacked all my shit. Plus I only have the core game, I don't have any of the expansions for it (I bought the game before the expansions came out and never got around to purchasing them).

"Mass Effect" is a porno game...wtf
Strider Hiryu replied to Eppy's topic in Rants and Raves / Issues
Haha, man thats funny. Theres what, a total of 3 sex scenes in the game (from what my roommate says two lesbo scenes and one straight). Plus, as far as customization goes, you can only modify the face of your character and not the entire look. This is entirely why I hate this country, to fucking conservative for our own fucking good. They need to take lessons from a couple of other countries when it comes to this stuff. We should let him get a hold of Artificial Girl 3 and then he'll know what a true porn game is (complete with detailed character customization) and how what he considers to be a porn game to be nothing more then a game with added, adult content. -
I haven't played since the last time I needed to reformat my harddrive about 8 months ago (lost all my save data and I was almost done with the game on my Sorceror, gah making me remember that makes me want to go grab my discs and reinstall it). Really every time I start playing it something goes wrong with my laptop making me lose all my save data and making me restart. I think someone has it out for me.

I've played and beaten the story on the first game (have yet to get the Microsoft Points for the expansion/2nd game). Just can't bring myself to pay $10 a month to play online, just isn't worth it in my opinion.

Welcome back to the insanity

First season is 25 eps long, not 13. I have yet to notice any real ripoffs of any Gundam shows yet. I must say I'm rather impressed with 00, it's actually got me interested. I only wish character development would move faster.

Oddly enough that sounds a lot like Yu-Gi-Oh except for the three decks option (then again it sounds a lot like other games too since they're usually classified into different types). The three decks thing sounds interesting but whats the card limit for each deck (20, making a 60 card deck or higher/lower)? I could see that getting highly confusing if it's simple since three decks would get rather hard to keep track of (hell I have a hard time keeping track of crap when I play Magic and thats only one deck). *smacks GG* Hentai card games would be fun but I doubt they'd fly
-
I'll probably come back with some ideas on this later but I don't think you can make a simple card game similar to Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic, Gundam, etc. To many intricate rules are written into that sect of card games that'd be hard to simplify (even if all the rules seem different a majority of the core rules and what not are the same. They're only worded differently). However, I don't doubt it's possible to do so but I just wanted to throw out that it won't be easy (even if Pokemon seems simple it's a rather complex game, used to play the TCG back when I was younger). At the moment though I really can't think of anything.

Battle of the Anime Gunslingers
Strider Hiryu replied to Sledgstone's topic in Anime / Animation / Manga / Comics
Man, I guess I'll be the odd one out and support Spike (just because, to this day, he's one of my absolute favorite characters). More so because I have yet to see Black Lagoon so I know next to nothing about Revy and I think Spike could put up a hell of a fight against Brandon, in either of his incarnations. -
Around but don't post to often. Busy with college and searching for a job. I'm more of a lurker now-a-days.

Since I can't afford it he bought it for me when I got back into town) Thats about it even though I was really expecting nothing for Christmas.

Eh, I don't really see AoC or WAR taking the limelight off of WoW. True, I know plenty of people who are switching out of WoW to play the two new ones but I highly doubt either is going to be a rival for WoW (this is both from my mindset as a gamer and my mindset as a designer, WoW has something thats going to be hard to replicate in other games). I'll say this though, I await there release just to see how big of a hit WoW will take (though I play the game (taking a break) Blizzard needs something to keep them on their toes. They're seriously starting to slip as of late).
