VGLeaks has unveiled the raw system specs of Microsoft's next generation console dubbed Durango. If these specs hold up, the next "Xbox" will have some remarkably impressive processing power at 1.2 teraflops (1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second). To put that in perspective; Xbox 360 is only measured in gigaflops. After the failure of HD DVD in the current generation, it is also a notable point that Blu-ray will be included along with 8GB of RAM, Wi-Fi Direct capability, USB 3.0 and HDMI 1.4a. Unlike the latest report for PS4, there is no news on the controller nor the previously rumored augmented-reality glasses. Here is a full rundown on the specs: CPU: - x64 Architecture - 8 CPU cores running at 1.6 gigahertz (GHz) - each CPU thread has its own 32 KB L1 instruction cache and 32 KB L1 data cache - each module of four CPU cores has a 2 MB L2 cache resulting in a total of 4 MB of L2 cache - each core has one fully independent hardware thread with no shared execution resources - each hardware thread can issue two instructions per clock GPU: - custom D3D11.1 class 800-MHz graphics processor - 12 shader cores providing a total of 768 threads - each thread can perform one scalar multiplication and addition operation (MADD) per clock cycle - at peak performance, the GPU can effectively issue 1.2 trillion floating-point operations per second High-fidelity Natural User Interface (NUI) sensor is always present Storage and Memory: - 8 gigabyte (GB) of RAM DDR3 (68 GB/s) - 32 MB of fast embedded SRAM (ESRAM) (102 GB/s) - from the GPU’s perspective the bandwidths of system memory and ESRAM are parallel providing combined peak bandwidth of 170 GB/sec. - Hard drive is always present - 50 GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive Networking: - Gigabit Ethernet - Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct Hardware Accelerators: - Move engines - Image, video, and audio codecs - Kinect multichannel echo cancellation (MEC) hardware - Cryptography engines for encryption and decryption, and hashing Check out the full details from CNet and VG Leaks below: CNET: Xbox 720: 8 CPU cores of gaming power? Then they will start requiring you to use a touch screen monitor or play games If the screen is the size of an iphone screen horizontal it should be fine.... I don't want to see a massive controller like Wii U. The touch screen should only be used for things like maps, back ground download statuses, and maybe cool things like score streaks that require remote control in COD or equipment in BF. If its used too heavily it becomes a distraction from the TV screen. It would also be useful to read messages you receive during game play, let you know who's online, manage your invites. The only issue is that an extra/replacement controller is going to be expensive if Wii U is the standard. Ive never broken my controllers so its not that big of an issue for me. I'm guessing the price point will be $49999 for the basic model. With inflation over the years and how much new tech costs, there is no way you'll ever see a console not released by Nintendo for less than that ever again. the days of $299 and $399 are over. Even at that price they will be taking a loss for ever sale per usual.

New details have emerged on Sony's next generation console. The console code named "Orbis" will have built in PS Move support, and a new controller to go along with it. While developers are reportedly using a hybrid six-axis/dual shock 3 controller with their dev kits, there is speculation that this new controller will use Vita's technology to implement a touch screen while retaining the iconic button set up. Aside from what can only be assumed to be inspiration from the Wii U, the controller is also rumored to have a RGB LED light and much improved motion detection technology. The dev kit specs never exactly match the final console, but here is what developers are currently working with: System Memory: 8GB Video Memory: 2.2 GB CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer" (so, 8x cores) GPU: AMD R10xx Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet Drive: Blu-Ray HDD: 160GB Audio Output: HDMI & Optical, 2.0, 5.1 & 7.1 channels For more details, check out Kotaku's full report: http://kotaku.com/5977849/the-playstation-4-has-a-new-controller-fancy-user-accounts-and-impressive-specs-so-far Click here to view the article

A barrier that could withstand the weight and pressure of an ocean would be an impossible feat, the wall would have to be so thick, you'd end up having to move inland hundreds if not thousands of miles. You'd basically have to build a set of mountain chains that rival the rockies across every costal border. Then access to water would be insanely difficult and a breach would be catastrophic to the population. lol.

DeathscytheX replied to Sledgstone's topic in Movies, TV & Books
No, It sounds like stupid idea that is trying to cash of the success of the movie while riding the coattails of Walking Dead. -

I'm the fastest C4er in the land my friend. Thats why my handle is C4atTheDoor on PC. That actually originated from BF2 when I'd plant C4 on conquest flags, I'd make a triangle around the flag's capture radius to make sure I could get them no matter what side they were on. BF2 maps at times were even larger than any BF3 map. I remember hiding up on a hill waiting for someone to run to the flag and BOOM. Then I'd see in the text box where they were crying to the admin about it. haha. I believe I had 3 gold stars with C4 on Bad Company 2. I just love using the stuff to troll.

You definitely picked the most difficult FPS on anything (not couting Arma) to be your first console shooter. LOL. I dont really worry about my KD in bf3. Mine is below 1.00 as well. But I never die 50 times unless get as many kills within +/-10 of it. My suicidal tendencies with c4 is what drags my k/d down. I take tank/apc kills personally at times and require swift vengeance. It works faster than rockets, and its hard to get people to team up and all shoot rockets at a tank. I blow myself up with it because 9 times out of 10 when I run away after tossing the C4 on the target, I get shot while running away. I take no chances. Sometimes my sacrifice is rewarded with 2-3 kills if there is more than one unlucky sole in the vehicle. I don't mind the level 100s, I like taking their dog tags, on xbox they are mostly snipers.

Gaming has come a long way since I was a child. Back then you might have seen a cheesy TV commercial here or there during cartoon hour, but within the last decade the gaming industry has become larger than Hollywood. Games get massive budgets and marketing on the same scale as their movie counterparts. Each year we gravitate towards our favorite gaming sites during one of the many large expos the industry puts on looking for something new, hoping for a sequel to our favorite gaming series, or anticipating some rumor to come to fruition that was lingering around leading up to the event. Do you have any trailers throughout the years that generated unbearable excitement? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOSXkLBrRdA I never played Call of Duty 1-3. I started at COD4: Modern Warfare, it came out shortly after i purchased my first xbox 360. The game was intoxicating, it was the first game I truly got to play with friends online that didn't require a LAN in 9th grade computer class, playing in secret while the teacher was talking . I was excited about World at War despite the negativity it had received for going back to the WWII period. It was a fresh idea to me since I had never played the first 3 games. This trailer was so badass to me mostly because of the music. lol God of War was unlike anything I had played before. The insane combos, the fighting style that just destroyed everything your path, there just wasn't any action game like this before it. The Blades of Chaos were so innovative and made you feel almost unstoppable. Kratos showed no mercy and didn't fall prey to any traps that tried to appeal for pity. It instantly became my favorite single player game of all time, When I heard they were making a sequel I was glued to the computer screen hitting the refresh button on IGN's coverage of E3 waiting for the announcement to come.
