FAA says bird not to blame for dent in plane nose
DeathscytheX replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
Actually reverse engineering is quite real, and is practiced heavily among the superpowers. Its mostly our stuff that gets reversed engineered when it's shot out of the sky. You can tear anything apart and figure out how to make one or something very similar to it. You'd be surprised how much real science is used in post 80's sci-fi. They still use a lot of creative licenses, but there is a heavy scientific influence, because these writers actually go and study physics among other things. -

http://www.nasa.gov/missions/research/x43-main.html Nasa has a jet that can almost reach Mach 10. C'mon. I don't think we have a lunar base, but I do think we go into space a lot more than the old ass decrepit shuttle does. -
I've seen 5 UFO's in my life time. My Grandfather, who was in the Army, knows someone that worked in Hanger 18, and according to that man, it was indeed an unearthly craft. They couldn't find the entrance until they tore the ship apart and found it from the inside. Not only do I think there are extra terrestrials, I also believe we have a black budget space program, no one knows about. That's why all the talk about shutting down Hubble quietly dissipated, and that is why Voyager 2 is still operational, and Voyager 1 isn't even spoken of anymore. Don't get me started on the little talked about "NASA" south pole observatory.

1. People I know pretty well, Yes. 2. Yup 3. Depends on the subject or nature, but in a lot of cases yes. 4. Outdoors I can't recall, indoors... yes 5. No 6. No 7. Rarely 8. No 9. Yes 10. Yes, and the answer to that question is: Hell no. 11. Yes 12. Nope 13. Yes, but that because they just piss me off in general. X'D 14. Indeed. possibly many. 15. I've awoken with a brief moment of paralysis, like something was immobilizing me. Its only happened twice ever. 16. Eh? 17. No, because most of them are events with people i currently know in this life, and these events haven't happened yet or cannot take place due to various circumstances. 18. I have. 19. No 20. No RED is what I don't have, GREEN means I'm unsure. 1, 3, 7, 8, 12 You are an EMPATH The ability to literally feel for someone else is a finely tuned empathic sense. It gives you the psychic ability to “read” a person’s aura, and interpret the information back to him or her. It can bring you amazingly close to others, you can sense their true emotional needs with unerring accuracy, and people may be drawn to you like magnets. But avoid absorbing other people’s problems, as it easy to get burned out. 2, 10, 16, 18 You are a CHANNELER Accessing information and or energy from a higher level of consciousness is often called channeling. There is no sense of contact with an individual entity, rather a connection to higher spiritual forces. Whatever your age, you are viewed by others as ”an old soul” and will be sought out for the spiritual insight that you’ve built up over many lifetimes. 11, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20 You are a MEDIUM If you’ve been aware of an unseen presence, or a ghost, you could be mediumistic. You also may have felt the presence of angelic or earthly spirits, which acts as guardians to you. You can look into other dimensions such as the astral worlds or the “spirit” world. This vision is a rare gift. 4, 5, 6, 9, 13 You are a SHAMAN As you are vividly aware of nature and the spirit in animals, plants, and trees, your style of psychism is shamanistic. You derive a highly tuned sense of danger from your instinctive link with wild animals this is a great asset - your intuition literally saves. You can sense impending ganger in all situations, whether it’s, on the sidewalk, in traffic situations, or in the workplace. You may also have natural healing ability – an innate sense of what will harm or help someone who is ill. If I said YES, its in BOLD A Sense Of Things To Come If you respond, “yes” to a question, place a check mark next to it. Add up the check and note your score. Have you been in a situation where you suddenly sensed danger? Did the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? Has a letter made you feel happy even before you knew what it contained? Have you overheard people talking and had a sense of foreboding without knowing the background to their discussion? Have you ever had a compelling feeling that something was wrong while a friend was telling you about someone he or she had just met? On your way to an arrange meeting, have you ever had an uneasy sense that you should not be going there? After taking a test, have you been certain that you had passed/failed? While listening to someone talking about a future date, have you had an overwhelming sense that you would be in a specific place at that time? Have you “known” that something would occur that actually happened to you later? When you were a child did your parents or fiends suggest a possible career? And did you “know” that you would do something completely different? Have you ever bought a raffle ticket and been sure that you were going to win before you did? How many questions did you check? 1-3 If you answered, “yes” to even a few questions, you’re already equipped with the basic ability to experience precognition. 4-6 Learn to trust your hunches and feelings - you’re more than average in sensitivity to useful “out of the blue” information. 6-10 Perhaps you should consider taking psychic development classes, as you are in touch with extra sensory skills that cold be successfully developed. Meh, some of these questions on the second half are so vague, you don't really need extrasensory abilities to say yes.

FAA says bird not to blame for dent in plane nose

I think if it was a space craft, It would have done a lot more than a little dent. As far as I believe, I think we, our self secretly have things that are better than the Space Shuttle. -

An old satellite falling back to earth or some other space junk some country put up there, a small meteor, or a big ass chunk of hail forming would be my guess. -
The original was made after World War II as the Cold War was starting. The basis of the Movie was than an Alien representative comes to earth because other planets fear humanity's violence and their recent obtainment of atomic power. In this process, the Alien was shot by a scared solider, he recovered in a hospital and healed up mingled with the population and observed how cruel human nature was. Upon leaving he stated that Humans would not be allowed to travel in space unless they get their act together, and if they didn't Earth would be destroyed. It was basically a message to fit a time of nuclear crisis back then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_Earth_Stood_Still_(1951_film) There is a more detailed description of the plot here.

xP1NVnLY_vU I didn't even know they were remaking the 1951 classic. If they stay true to the original story (The director claims to be a huge fan of the original), I guess its appropriate for the times we live in.

When its too late and everything is fucked. No its not American's America anymore, its everyone else's America. Until we stop catering to the minority (In whatever area it may be) because we are offending them, nothing will be fixed. What ever happened to "too fucking bad"? Last time I checked the majority is what counted because it had the most people. They can have their opinion, but thats all they should beable to have. We all may not like it, but oh well thats what the general consensus is. If the losing side doesn't like it, then they are free to get the hell out... or in some cases they need to get the hell out anyways because they don't have a membership. Can you sympathize with them? Sure, just don't give them anything.

You can thank the age of "political correctness" as the origin of what has become of society. Say anything that's true in a frank and realistic manner, without the candy coating, beating around the bush, bullshit... You're labeled a racist, bigot, hypocrite, sexist, fascist, nazi, commie, close minded, leftist, right wing extremist. We ourselves are endangering our own freedom just as much as we think it is being taken away from us. Its a world of trying to make things happen without any sacrifice, because it seems the popular view is that if "bad things" happen then it isn't worth archiving the goal, in fact its just plane wrong.

Games Sales Overtake DVD Sales In The US
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Meh, There have been a lot of good movies the past 2 years, but there were even more horrid ones. Most of the good ones were remakes or sequels. They predicted this a few years ago, and actually went further to say that the Gaming industry will even surpass the box office one day. -
Yeah I hit 25 in April, and it went down about $25. Since I hit 21 its been going down around $10 or so every year. I guess they did it that way instead of one huge chunk at 25.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy birfday!

How bad is it normally up there? I pay $1200 a year so we aren't that far off. The lowest payment's I've ever seen was for my Dad's decrepit old 1992 van. It was $89 a month. Mine is pretty low because I'm on my parents plan, They've been with statefarm for 20+ years so the rate I have now wouldn't be possible if I got my own plan. I swear I know more women that get in wrecks than guys and yet we get the shit end of the stick when it comes to rates. I guess the fact that I only drive to work and around town factors into it as well, since they ask how many miles I drove each year. I get a discount if Its under a certain amount.

Also feel free to call insurance companies and get a quote on a car before you buy it. They will be glad to assist potential customers. Its good to find out before hand, and it could be a deciding factor in your purchase.

Registration varies from state to state. Its calculated differently. For instance, where I live registration is based on how old your vehicle is and what kind it is, the newer it is the more expensive your registration is. Its a pretty screwed up system here. When I lived in Virgina it was calculated solely on weight. They paved the roads at least once a year and heavy vehicles are more damaging to the roads. Right now a decent fuel economy car is going to cost quite a bit because of gas prices. Even second hand cars will be pretty close to the original price if they are in decent condition. Used trucks are dirt cheap on the other hand. Financing is going to vary based on the popular interest rate and how many years you finance it over. Insurance is another thing that varies, but unlike registration, should be pretty similar from state to state. Its based on the model type, your age, gender, and the age of the car. Basically the sports car tag applies to a lot of vehicles that aren't sports cars... they do it because it increases the price. Anything car with 2 doors is considered a sports car, unless it has a hatchback. mid-sized trucks and passenger vans generally get lower rates. You also have many options when it comes to insurance, as to what you want to cover and what you don't want to pay for. Full coverage is the most expensive and covers everthing imaginable, while liability only will just cover the cost of fixing someone else's vehicle if the accident is considered your fault. Its a lot to think about really, buying a vehicle is a pain in the ass as it is, unless you just have a lot of money and buy it for the sticker price. If this is all confusing, Ill give you my example. I own a fully loaded 2004 Mazda 3i. I purchased it in 2005 for around $14,000 before interest. I have pay $255 a month over five years and I pay $100 a month in insurance (it was $157 to begin with because I was under 25). My registration I think is about $180 a year. I highly recommend autotrader.com, you can search for used vehicles and sort them by model, age, price range, mileage, and distance from you. kbb.com will assist you with what a fair price should be on a used car you are looking at. If you buy from another person rather than a dealership I recommend carfax.com. Most dealerships now have carfax print outs on their used models. I suggest a dealership rather than a complete stranger any day. I hope that helps

We got to see 2 sections in 19 minutes and people are acting like they've seen every level of the game. Blizzard has always had similar art work in all its games. In Diablo 2 the only parts that were dark and gloomy were the underground sections and the final act. Otherwise you had a grassy plane, a bright desert setting, and a jungle/swamp that took place at night. And that weird staircase maze in space level was anything but gloomy. Different environments are always welcome. If I took a guess, I bet that was very early in the game and as you progress it gets darker and darker.

http://kotaku.com/5021118/diablo-fans-petition-against-diablo-iii They hate rainbows! They can't draw gothic fan art with rainbows in it!*sigh* It just goes to show you that no matter how hard you try there's just no pleasing some people. Geez... Wishing for years just to complain about it.

Indeed it was, while they did ship 3 million copies so far, the final sales number isn't out. Its going to take more games like that to boost up the PS3's desirability.

Its about time too, You can only milk Warcraft so much. Especially when you have other legendary titles on your resume.

In May, Sony recorded a profit of 3.53 billion for the year. They got it all back and then some. Its a big company. Its pretty regular in any business to "lose" money per say, as long as you still churn a decent profit as a whole, it really doesn't matter that much. Sony aims to start profiting from each PS3 unit by August. Whether they do or not, is yet to be seen.
