Hulk Hogan To Host 'American Gladiators'
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
I know! I was talking about the same thing. I was like dude, this is real reality right here! American Gladiators would destroy those other reality series in ratings if they revived it. And what do you know... 2 weeks after I said that, it was announced! I hope to God they keep the original trumpeting theme. X'D -
GW became so popular for the same reason DBZ did... We were an anime starved culture, it fed us, and it tasted good, because we were hungry. They could have put out any anime that had high-quality animation, whether it was good or sub par and it would have become insanely popular. Thats the short and easy answer... this topic makes my head spin. lol Hell, they could have put out the atrocity that is Blue Gender and it would have been hailed as the greatest thing ever to grace TV.

Wind-whipped fires scorch Southern California
DeathscytheX replied to Ladywriter's topic in News Column
The intensification of forest fires are our fault. Its a natural process in which forests renews itself. But putting it out before its completed process, the trees grow bigger than they normally would, providing larger sources of fuel. Of course we can't just let the fires rage now, because people live in the area. Its basically the same concept as living in a flood zone, hurricane zone, and rivers breaking breaking man made containment. Its gonna happen. Its just going to get worse and worse until one day they wont be able to stop it and the forest will purify itself finally. -
Oh yeah, THAT game. X'D I never had any interest in playing it. I'm looking at some ratings now... they're pretty low... very low. X_X

Sub-Zero mythologies looked cool, but I never did play it. I've heard 50/50 with good or bad opinions. I did like Shaolin Monks, however, It was pretty fun, especially on co-op. I'd like to see a street fighter game in a similar format. I like 2D fighters for nostalgic purposes. I still have my PS1 copy of Street Fighter Alpha 3. But thats just it. Those kinds of things belong in the Xbox Live Arcade or PSN. Sadly I doubt we'll ever see an MK vs. anything because of its graphic nature compared to other less brutal fighters. the MK team wouldn't tone down their side of things, and the other side wouldn't allow their characters to be brutalized in such a fashion. lol There was a game that stared Jax? wtf... That had to be awful.

Like Xbox Live achievements I could transfer? Or just PC achievements?
-
X'D MAN! Do you know how many games I've played that were too good for my computer? Sure the graphics won't look too great if you tone it down, but if its a fun game that shouldn't matter eh? 360's are getting pretty cheap now that the new models like the Elite are coming out. It will probably be a year or so before BC comes out, who knows?

A whole forum of people isn't going to sell enough copies of a game. My point is proven by fact, not by fanboyistic opinion. Most all die hard SF fan extremists have a ridiculously bias hatred for MK whether its a good game or not. (oh MK has put out some shitty titles, don't get me wrong). Same goes for MK die hards. The last true and new street fighter came out in 2000, correct me if I am wrong. Seven years ago. Other fighting titles have released several installments since then. If 2D fighting and the III series is so popular, why hasn't any more 2D SFs come out? Its just an observation. I'm not saying 2D would be absolute crap, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay $60 for one.

I'm struggling with the decision to get it on 360 for the achievements or play it on PC like I'm accustomed too.

Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
IGN is one if not the largest gaming site on the entire web. I don't make up facts. I'm not in third grade. If this is the first time you've ever seen IGN, you have no basis to argue anything, Gamepro and Nintendo Power don't cut it. You haven't seen it because you can't find it on G4 and Google News. Those two sources are far too young to even have a database of articles, and G4 is absolute garbage. Just because you haven't read it, doesn't mean it must not be true. You're just one person that seems to stick to a limited amount of information that heavily relies on your own personal favoritism. You've ran out of things to say, because you cannot credibly dispute what I have had to say. I don't use arguments like "I" or "Me" because my likes and dislikes don't encompass the majority interest of the gaming market. I'm a Playstation person, it isn't number one anymore despite the fact that I like it better than 360 and Nintendo. If you could have seen the past 5 years of this game section of the forum you would have seen a lot more posts by others posting such articles and stating similar things that I have in this topic. I have read a broad variety of sources over the the years... not just 2, in which only one is a half-way gaming media outlet. You're not following down a smart path accusing me disrespectfully of making shit up. I'd tame that mouth of yours real fast. Consider this topic over, and refrain from further discussions unless you can do so in a civilized manner. -
New Season: American Gladiators comes to NBC!
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Movies, TV & Books
Just insert the backstory in place of the annoying Mike Adamle interviews and it should be fine. -
You have to wonder what the implications are as far as the movies go, and how parents will react about allowing their children going to the theater. It will be interesting indeed.

TRANSFORMERS! Robots in disguise!

I can't believe you... X'D -
I doubt its exclusive PS3, The trailers were in the PC and PS3 locations. I'm sure it will be on 360 as well.

The decline of arcades are because its expensive. They were going down long before online gaming became big. 3rd strike doesn't play much different from any PS/PS2 generation SF. The Rap theme was stuipd, and the characters were weak. The only difference in game pay was the picking the power move/super move whatever you want to call it, before the match, instead of having them all before you. I'm not afraid of change... thats why I'd like to see the change from 2D to 3D. MK game breaking glitches? You can be cheap in any game, street fighter the most of all of them. MK's style branch brings the game a lot of depth, its not the best fighter out there, but its a good game. With Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Virtua Fighter out there, SF has little to offer in 2D.

Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Oh.. excuse me then. What you see to be the problems obviously reflects the entire gaming market. Obscure games that weren't released in the US because they wouldn't sell profitably in the US. None of the real facts, that have been documented time after time by marketing expert analysis matter, only because you have never read about it. Sledge: I believe Valve's Steam is the best example of the auto patch we have right now. Although its not a console, I'm sure the method could easily be applied. -
Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Actually, Nintendo promised that the Wii would have an auto-patch system via online, whether it does or not, I don't know. I know it was met with some criticism because the premise was suppose to be that the game was patched without the consent of the gamer. Of course as some of us know, patches aren't always a good thing, and not leaving the option to patch or not to patch, the idea could have been dropped when the system was finalized. Phantom LOL, I signed up for beta testing on that thing. I thought it turned out to be a big scam, or some college research project to see how many people they could get to sign up? I remember courts getting involved or something. -
Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
I've not only read it, but I've witnessed it for the past 20 years I've been playing video games. Its why I wasn't surprised when Metroid Prime 3 was delayed, and I'm not surprised when Smash was delayed. You don't see it because like you said, you don't care about when new games come out... -

Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Playstation had more games period, because it came out on time. the 64 went through a ridiculous amount of delays, it practically had a new name every 3 months. Sony was a nobody in the gaming world, and thanks to Nintendo's incompetence they handed the market to Sony, who held it for a nice long run until recently. People just got sick of waiting for the 64 and got a PS instead. It wasn't because it had more M rated games, because Nintendo had no next gen games at that time seeing as they had no console to show. Yes the M rated issue played a factor after its release... they couldn't catch up, but the M rated issue took more of a role during the Gamecube era. Nintendo's formating is another issue, not only was the cartridge a problem, but then they decided to be cute with the mini disc's. There's a whole lot of problems with Nintendo, but the main one is there lack of urgency. -
Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed

I stopped listening a long time ago, if you didn't notice the sarcasm in the original post. It doesn't mean its still not stupid. You're in the minority when it comes to not caring about first day of release. Its not very smart of them competitively speaking. The Nintendo 64 was a complete bomb because of delays... everyone got sick of waiting and got a Playstion instead. I guess all those people ruined the fun they would have had by getting a 64, and the developers ruined the fun they would have had making games for the 64 too... everyone should have waited for Dolphin/Ultra/Nintendo 64. -
Nintendo Ruins Holiday Season: Smash Bros. Delayed
DeathscytheX replied to DeathscytheX's topic in Video Games
Yes the hardcore fans should be pleased to have their games promised on a much earlier date than it really could be completed on... every time. If they would have originally announced the game to be released in Feb or later, we wouldn't have this problem. For the 3rd or 4th time: Its not about the game being completed in perfect form or being released before its finished. Its about Nintendo setting dates they can never meet... ever. -
3rd strike was an abomination. Never mention that game in my presence again. Mortal Kombat's last two games were quite successful and rightfully so. The only 2D fighters that come out will now only come out on PSN and Xbox Live Arcade... such as Super Street Fighter II Remix.

Kirk is the greatest starfleet captain of all time. Picard fans are outnumbered. Kirk could fight, get it on with alien babes, and took unreasonable chances. Picard was an old man on Viagra that liked poetry and classical music. eat it.
